Celebrity Hypocrits

Appears the celebs toting the global warming line like to showcase their Prius's on the ground, but are some of the biggest consumers of fuel in the air. See this TMZ article. The article also does not mention the mass consumption of electricity (and water) of these celeb's mansions, which also consumes much more fossil fuels than your average home.

I think it's fine if people want to drive a Prius, for whatever reason they choose to do so. But it's the attitude that we all should be choosing to drive one, and if we don't then we are part of the problem, with which I have a problem. There is a similar attitude by Seattle liberals when it comes to riding transit. The fact is that those options do not work for everyone, especially those of us with children. It also does not help when the mayor gets chauffeured around all day, while he is pushing his global warming initiatives that will cost us all more time and money. The elites should put up or shut up.

1. It used to be that celebrities used their fame and appeal to help their country. There were always a number of self-obsessed stars, in the past we didn't hear about all of their predilections.

But now these celebrities use their fame (with the help of the studio's publicity machine) to browbeat and pontificate to their fans. Whatever their pet cause is they want to force, cajole, or guilt others into doing things that they themselves are unwilling to do. I call them hypocrites.

The examples in the article are great. Do as I say and ignore what I do.

To think that George Clooney just can't associate with the riff-raff. Private planes are one of the favorite transportation methods of the elites. Robert Kennedy, Jr. is a perfect example, Ariana Huffington as well. They need their motorcades, but want the rest of us on public transportation or bikes. Don't forget the wind power project that was scrapped because it disturbed the Kennedy compound view of the water. There are TOO many examples to cite here, but you get the drift.

Laura Ingraham said it best, "Shut up & Sing"
