Time to fund IRV success on the ballot

IRV is on the ballot in Pierce County and you can help it WIN!

Please visit the campaign fundraising letter, and donate TODAY. Do not delay ...

YOU can become a leader for IRV, even if you don't vote in Pierce County. Help create the beachhead that can spread IRV across Washington State.

Thank you.

1. Cary, thanks for the contribution. We're very excited about the topic range and general level of quality of posts at our new Public Blog. As one of the Sound Politics Contributing Editors, please allow me to give some friendly advice to you about future Public Blog posts - and about some editing it would be good for you to make to this post.

1> We obviously don't mind advocacy-related posts, but a press release or press release tone is not what we want. A cheerleader-style exhortation such as in your original post is not what we are looking for either. Make a brief, cogent argument for what you advocate, and remember that weaving in supportive article or op-ed links from sources other than your organization greatly adds to the validity of the post. (See 3> below on adding links).

Speak in a personal voice rather than an organizational voice, while quickly and clearly disclosing your organizational affiliation. With that in mind, a live link to your group's site is certainly OK.

2> Please do not use acronyms like IRV on first reference - spell out what it stands for on first reference; you can use the acronym on subsequent references.

3> Please make your links live, embedded in the copy, as opposed to just typing in the Web address, which requires the reader to cut and past that address into their browser. Most of them won't go to the trouble. Instructions on how to insert links into your text are in the "Posting Guidelines and FAQ" link on the Public Blog main page, in the "Log-In" section.

I hope this helps, and thanks for your interest in our Public Blog.
