The Democrat Descent: Do you know a 9/11 nutter?

It has been quite instructive to note the descent of the Democrat party over roughly the last 15 year from that of differing ideals to what is now becoming quite irrational.

First there was the trend towards more statism, socialism, cultural Marxism and other more left positions. From Hillary Clinton's proposed Universal Healthcare plan, to Multiculturalist Dogma as accepted quidelines for normal daily dialogue there was a noticeable shift to the left.

Next, the Democrats began to embrace hatred and extreme partisanship. This has been labled Bush Derangement syndrome, but it has become a hatred for anything to which Democrats do not agree. Far beyond a difference in politics, one could begin to hear in the voices of Top Democrats an absolute disgust and unwillingness to accept anything Republican.

Now it's gone to an even lower level of irrationality. All out censorship of ideas as in the attempt to get Disney/ ABC to quash "The Path To 9/11" miniseries. And worse, a growing number of even more mainstream Democrats fully embracing 9/11 conspiracy theories.

In my own circle of family and friends, I've been surprised to find a number of Democrat but previously mostly rational people who have now espoused their belief in 9/11 Conspriacies that implicate the Bush Administration as behind the World Trade Center attacks.

I view this descent as the obvious progression of frustration and futility. Democrats are realizing how marginal they have become to what I will call Real America and the core values and ideas that make this country possible. Hopefully the Democrats won't descend even further in to physical violence, but given the virulence one can read on extreme left blogs, it would not be at all surprising.

I'm curious to know if other Sound Politics readers are seeing a similar rise in the number of friends or family that are actively espousing 9/11 conspriacies. Post your experiences in the comments.

1. JeffB, I read where roughly 1/3 of Americans believe the Bush Administration conspired to bring about the 9/11 disaster. It's a measure of how well the Democrats and their media spin machine have been able to blow smoke up the rear end of an entire nation.

If this war was manufactured to benefit the Bush Administration I would love to know what benefits they have accrued.

2. As a student at a public high school, I know many 9/11 conspiracy theorist types.

If children are our future, the future looks grim.
