That's what a primary is for, as opposed to a general election where you can pick "one from Column A, one from Column B...". If you refuse to identify with a party, you have no right to have a say in who represents that party. Just as you have no right to choose who my attorney will be if I decide to fight the primary in court (which I won't).
That's the basis of the law. It's kinda refreshing to see a court ruling that actually mirrors common sense.
