The power behind the Democrat Plan
by pagar, 12:48 PM, 5 Comments
For those who think they are helping this country, by not voting in the upcoming election, or those who think there is a reason to vote for any Democrat in the Nov election. I would point out again, that there is a party with a plan: That plan is detailed here: http://www.cpusa.org/article/articleview/769/1/135/ Reading their plan is essential to understanding why the 192 members of the Democrat party voted against the Federal Election Integrity Act of 2006, HR 4844, on 20... Lead in Soft Vinyl Lunchboxes--yikes!
by MicheleDeRouis, 12:05 AM, 2 Comments
The local angle is that I got this bit of startling news out of the monthly newspaper published by Puget Consumers Co-op, the local natural foods chain better known around these parts as PCC. I submit it as a sort of public service. So what if I'm the only conservative republican who shops at PCC and has to amble past the far-left bumperstickers in the parking lot, or even endure the elderly customer who snarked at me as I walked... Anti-US in Bellingham
by garinwallace, 07:07 PM, 2 Comments
I've pasted a copy of a letter that I sent to our local station KGMI and also in various forms to the council, the governor etc... I could use some help getting it out to the public maybe a few emails to the Bellingham City Council. We have a problem with a very liberal city council that seems poised to pass a resolution against our country. Most people who hear about it on the news think it is a simple... [read more]

City Council Set to Approve Plan for 520 with no funding source
by Palouse123, 03:23 PM, 3 Comments
The Seattle City cabal is set to approve the euphemistic "Pacific Interchange" option for the 520 replacement mega-project, one that even Nickels says has no secure funding source. Nevermind that he's taking about $2 billion of that funding source for his gold plated tunnel. Perusing the plan for this option, it calls for two general purpose lanes in each direction and one HOV lane in each direction. So don't look for any congestion relief with this project either. But we're... [read more]

Democrats Reveal Strategy for Appeasement in House/Senate Votes
by ERNurse, 11:46 AM, 3 Comments
The Dissociated Press brings us a story that describes the debate between Republicans and Democrats that will determine the ability of the United States to defend ourselves against a ruthless, unorthodox, and brutal enemy. At long last, we are seeing the congealing of opposing ideas in the halls of our government regarding the prosecution of our war against Islamic murderers. One idea is to give our President every tool possible to command a changing military in a highly fluid and... [read more]

The Politics of Gasoline
by Palouse123, 11:20 AM, 8 Comments
I received another flyer in the mail the other day from the Burner campaign (or one of her 527's), proclaiming Reichert was the "rubber stamp" vote for Bush's policies surrounding energy policy. The flyer was largely the Bush and his energy buddies rhetoric, and I was suprised the word "Halliburton" did not appear anywhere. By voting for an energy policy (the first one ever in this country), Reichert apparently was supporting millions in "giveaways to the oil companies". I suppose... [read more]

State will not cover extra cost of tunnel
by Palouse123, 03:18 PM, 14 Comments
According to the Seattle Times article, Gregoire has decided the state will not cover the extra cost of the tunnel. She has ruled out raising the gas tax for the extra cost, but has not ruled out the tunnel option. So it will be up to the Seattle City Council and Nickels to raise the $2 billion++ for the extra cost of the tunnel. Here's What Club for Growth Says About McGavick (and Cantwell)

McCain 2008: Ain't Gonna Happen
by JeffB., 10:45 AM, 8 Comments
There's a lot of talk about 2008 Presidential hopefuls. One often hears the name John McCain, Republican Senator from AZ, bandied about as a potential candidate. Let's take a look at John McCain's chances. First off, there's the old political axiom, Senators don't often get elected to the office of President because of their voting record and national visibility. That's certainly true in McCain's case. Some Simple Realities About Your ED Wait

I hear many, many people complaining about how long they have to wait to be seen in the Emergency Department. Here is the simple reality about the reasons you might wait, straight from an ED nurse: 1. We can only go as fast as the number of available beds allows. What's So Bad About A Party Line Primary?
by srodli, 04:47 PM, 11 Comments
I've noticed lately that just about any time there's a blog at Sound Politics on the vote-by-mail fiasco the blogger, or commenters, or both leap at the opportunity to take a swipe at the "party line primary". The Scariest Thing About McGavick's DUI
