Why John McCain Should Not Be President

John McCain is reportedly solidifying his base for a run for the Presidency in 2008.

On the face of it, McCain has everything one could need for a decent shot at it. He's got the war record that John Kerry wishes he had (and tried to convince us that he did). He's got the money and he's got the notoriety. He's surrounded himself with influential friends. He's surrounded himself with press. Yes, it seems that McCain has all the necessary ingredients for a presidential run. But for all that he has, McCain lacks something that America really needs from a president, particularly during such a time as this...

    2. McCain's attempt at collectivizing and eliminating gun shows and his attack on free elections in McCain-Feingold, disqualify him for any office in a free United States.

    I would never vote for him.

    3. George and JB, I had not even considered his stance on our 2nd Amendment rights when I wrote my piece. Come to think of it, I had also neglected his statement that a country that had a clean government but no free speech was better than a country with free speech and a bad government.

    The more about McCain that I consider, the more unworhty of the Presidency he becomes. This guy is dangerous for our country.
