UnopposedDemocrats?

There was an interesting article in the Everett Herald newspaper this morning about unopposed Democrats in the September Primary election. Being a resident of Everett I was quickly drawn to the fact that there is nobody on the Republican primary for Washington State Senate or House seat #2 in the 38th District. I truly wonder why this is. Are these incumbent Democrats considered unbeatable by the Republican party?

I have decided to explore the possibility of paying the filing fee and becoming a write in candidate for the September Primary election. I would really like to know if I have a snow balls chance in hell of making it on the General Election ballot in November. I do not wish to be on the ballot just to get my name on the ballot, but rather I would do this to truly try and make a difference.

It is only fair to give a brief background on me and my beliefs. I am a conservative in every since of the word. I agree with Hannity, Kirby, Carlson, and Suits 95% of the time. I am 38, work in the IT field and am currently going to school to further my education. I believe in free agency, the U.S. Constitution, family values, and securing our borders.

So tell me, is it worth $353 (Filing fee cost) to give the Republican party a possibility of actually having a name on the ballot come November? Let me know your thoughts.

1. I always thought Everett would be a little more conservative given the military presence there. There is a large Navy presence, isn't there? I don't see most of them voting Dem. But, I really don't know anything about Everett's voting patterns.

Good luck if you file.

2. Don't mean to be snotty, but if you run, DO learn how to spell "unopposed"! You'll get further if you do....

3. Yeah, I suppose that would help. However, that mistake proves just one thing. That I am only human. I make mistakes, however I learn while from them. I have fixed my mistake in case anyone is wondering where my error was.

4. Quick & dirty: I considered running for a state representative position. I talked to dozens of people for opinions, information, and advice.

In the end I chickened out. Why? Because of the vitriolic (nasty) nature of the left. Read the crap on this blog (which is tame by seattlunatic standards!). There is no way I'm going to subject my family to this sort of vile depravity.

Everett isn't my part of town so I couldn't vote for ya, but I would if I could!

It isn't my intent to wet-blanket your idea, but to implore you to explore all the implications...
