King County Journal slaps Sims

Time for Sims to re-read election report

It's been one year this week since a blue-ribbon committee appointed by County Executive Ron Sims issued a report on King County's elections office. One of the committee's recommendations: that the county elections chief be elected, not appointed.

With Ferguson on board, the four Republican council members would have enough votes to place the issue, an amendment to the county charter, on the November ballot.

Tuesday's announcement drew an immediate response from Sims, who was steaming mad, accusing council members who would support such a proposal of being "determined to politicize and destabilize the King County elections system." 1. Ha! I was actually considering trying my first attempt at public blogging on this very topic! But glad to see you've accomplished that already.

I learned that the piece was written by Barbara Morgan of the KC Journal, and boy did she let Sims have it right between the eyes!

I was cheering when I read this, as Sims is still in such denial about the state of KC Elections and 2004. He really does need to be whooped upside the head into reality.
Thank you, Barbara! Keep it comin'....
