1. Imagine the left's outrage if Bush was to announce he was sending troops back to Somalia to clean up the mess Clinton left?

Some things are just out of reach of rational action.

As for the Islamist's "brilliant victory over the Israeli army", there was no victory. Israel has exposed Hezbollah's military and weapons build-up. They've exposed Iran's direct involvement with Hezbollah. They've shown Lebanon that there is a consequence for supporting terrorists.

Brilliant victory over Israel? I think not.

3. The Jerusalem Post and Associated Press both claim that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz have Bush type approval ratings now. The Israeli military and public are angry. The Syrians, Hezbollah, and Iranians are dancing in the streets. Israel is launching an inquiry into why things went so wrong. A Lebannese General is arrested for simply drinking tea with Israelis. Syria has moved tanks to the border of Israel. Hezbollah is moving back into S. Lebannon with weapons. Now, our supposed victory lies in the hands of France.

And you think we won -- I guess it is easier to spin the truth from 8,000 miles and an ocean away. The truth is pretty hard to ignore when missles are dropping all around you and your military can't advance more than a mile in a month of fighting and finally breaks through when 30,000 more troops are added to the fight against a terrorist organization. Well, Israel was not even fighting a real army of Syrians, Iranians, Eygptians, etc.
