Darcy Burner's assistants
I regularly read the letters to the editor in the King County Journal. They have a tendancy to at least be a bit more balanced in their choice of letters.
Today there was a letter from Dennis Higgins. He finishes up his letter by saying that, "For security's sake, we must elect Democrats like Darcy Burner to Congress this fall."
I can't think of a worse idea. Darcy Burner has burnished her resume, she left Microsoft after only 3 years, then she quit law school to run for congress? She has done nothing.
Electing a cipher to work and hopefully be a leader in the Congress of the United States is a dumb move. I believe she will be nothing but an extra vote for one of her political mentors, Baghdad Jim McDermott. Here is a picture from her at an event looking on adoringly at McDermott. A Real Fan.
We need people that at least finish something. Darcy Burner is apparently not one of those kind of people. We certainly need some on more capable than Darcy Burner in Congress.
So my burning question about Darcy Burner's campaign, are they using the money she has raised to pay people to write insipid letters to the editor like this? Is this the Maria Cantwell school of politics? Modeling yourself after some of the dimmest bulbs (the Washington state congressional delegation) in the Congress, isn't exactly a good career move.

1. WEll,as others have noted, the Democrats don't have anything to offer in the area of security except criticize Pres. Bush. THey never offer anything in the way of ideas. They just want power. And then they claim they will 'negotiate' with evil, essentially.
No thank you!
2. It's a choice between known losers (R) and potential losers (D). It's time to give the Democrats a shot at screwing the war on Islamic Fascism as much as the Republicans.
3. John, the biggest problem with the war on teror has come in the forms of Democrats undermining the troops by giving aid and comfort to the enemy. They have done this by comparing our troops to Nazi's (Durbin's statement), saying that our soldiers terrorize innocent women and children in the dead of night (Kerry's statement), and this statement from "Baghdad" Jim McDermott, "As long as our troops are there they're going to be a continued irritant in the situation." Sure the republicans should have taken a tougher stance and actually forced more votes on support for our troops and pushed through meaningful legislation seeing as they have control of both houses and the presidency, but at least they are not actively siding with the terrorists while our troops are out fighting for our freedom.
4. TrueSoldier, I'd say you're the real insult to our troops. You'd have us believe it's the Democrats they're worried about while they're over there getting shot at, when in fact it's the Democrats who care most about their safety and security.
5. Ben, I can tell you from personal experience that will I was over there and we heard some of these comments being uttered by our own countrymen we would wonder why wont they just let us get the job done and stop undedrmining our effort? We would see these comments replayed day after day on Al Jezera, you know Terrorist News Network, over and over agian. We did not fret over these comments like some little girl, we were concerned, and rightlfully so, about the effects these comments would have on our enemy making our job harder. As for Democrats trying to protect us give me a break. If you remember, John Kerry voted against the $89 billion dollar war budget along with alot of his fellow Democrats. That money, which did pass thanks to the Republicans, was used to buy our body armor, food , ammunition, pay for extra training and alot of other things that better equiped us to fight and survive. Not to mention all the weapons systems that John Kerry has voted against like Patriot missile, the Tomahawk cruise missile and the B-2 stealth bomber. He also favored cutting or canceling spending on the Apache helicopter, the M-1 Abrams tank and a wide range of fighter jets. And I can tell you that these are things that do help soldiers remain safe. Here is a link to a Washington Post story that shows just how great Kerry is on Defense.
