These are the basic instructions for posting entries here on the Sound Politics Public Blog
1. One-time step: Click here to obtain a TypeKey universal login. (If you already have one you may use the one you have). It's free, only takes a moment to sign up, and you'll be able to use it at many other websites. NOTE: even if you previously registered for the scoop-based "diaries", you'll still need to obtain a TypeKey login.
2. Click here (or on the Log-in/Register link at the top of the right sidebar). You'll need your TypeKey login name to login. The first time you login you'll be prompted to fill out a very brief form, and then you'll be able to login to post entries. (if you wish to look at the blog in a separate window concurrently with posting entries, you might wish to right-click on the Log-in/Register link to open in a new window)
3. Once you've logged in, you'll be able to post entries using Movable Type. The first screen you see should have this as its main portion

To post an entry, click on the NEW ENTRY button on the left. To review and edit your previously posted entries, click on the ENTRIES button.
4. When you create a new entry, you'll see a screen where the main elements are at top:

and at bottom:

Enter your title in the Title box, the main text in the Entry Body box. Select a category from the Primary Category drop-down (you may leave it at 'Select' and the category will show up as "In Other News"
Use the buttons at top of the entry body box to, respectively, Bold, Italicize, Underline, Insert a hyper link, Insert an email link, and
indenta section of text. Note that these buttons will apply the formatting to whatever text you select in the entry body box.
You will normally want to leave the Text Formatting set to "Convert Line Breaks", unless you include a block of HTML (such as a table) in your entry. Only in that case would you want to set Text Formatting to None. You may Preview your entry by pressing the Preview button. To save your entry, click the Save button. If you save an entry when the Post Status is Unpublished, it will save your work on the server, but will not post it on the main page. When you're done edting your entry and want it to appear on the site, set Post Status to Published and click the Save button. You can always return and edit and resave an entry that you have previously posted.
5. Style suggestions -- keep your entries brief. Put the most important information at the top.
6. You may include images in your posts. But the images would have to be hosted on a different server.
7. Any other questions? Consult the Movable Type User Manual
