There was a debate on Initiative 1125 before the Seattle Times editorial board yesterday.
You can watch it here.
Whaddya think?

It seems like the Democrats in Olympia have their eye on tolling as a lucrative new source of revenue. But first they have to make it fungible, and the most important thing I-1125 does is to stop that, by requiring that money collected from tolls go to the project being tolled.
Posted by: travis t on September 29, 2011 10:01 AMVote them all out. I use to not be in favor of term limits but, since there are so many Crooks on both sides of the isles, It is better to throw out the rare few good with the many bad. Hopefully, in the long run, we will end up with a cleaner and more honest house.
Tolls = income tax. They can't pass one and they need 2 things, in their minds. More money and deniability for creating/enforcing the tax/toll.
If we permit the state to create massive taxation authority wihtout any accountability we deserve the government we get. It's not an accident that this is a very popular initiative.
The most popular part is tolls paying only for the projects in question. Even Democrats recognize that if tolls aren't required to susnset, that they'll live forever. People generally like the idea of use taxes, so the problem isn't tolling. It's endless new tolling that's a 520 bridge too far.
