Change We Can Believe In

Rep. Bill Delahunt (D., Mass.) will become the 18th Democrat to retire in advance of November elections.

"It's got nothing to do with politics," Delahunt told the Boston Globe. "Life is about change. I think it's healthy. It's time."

3. Of the 16 Dems listed, 11 are NOT seeking another office - of the 20 republicans, only 7 are NOT seeking another office.

In other words 2/3 of the Dems are flat out retiring while only about 1/3 of the Republicans are.

The number of Democrats not seeking another office in the Wikipedia list is 10 not 11. That's a ratio of 10:7 -- oddly enough, just about the same as the ratio of Democrats to Republicans in the House.

8. Would'nt it be nice if Patty Murray and Maria Cant bookeep too well didthe same thing and voluntarily retired. Oh well nice though!
