ACORN of Everett Holds "Prosperity Forum" Tomorrow [UPDATED]

[UPDATED: the event's been canceled, according to The Herald.]

On September 17, at 7 p.m., at the Everett Labor Temple at 2810 Lombard in Everett, ACORN is holding a "Prosperity Forum." Scheduled to speak are state legislators John McCoy, Mary Helen Roberts, and Mike Sells; Snohomoish County PUD Commissioner David Aldrich; and Snohomish County Councilman Mike Cooper. ACORN says on their flier that they will be helping people with food, baby supplies, health care, child care, energy bills, taxes, credit, and, of course mortgage help.

All you pimps and prostitutes, come on down tomorrow night!

1. Isn't that being a little tough on the folks in that organization who perform the good deeds that they were organized for...or are you of the belief and conviction that the whole barrel of apples is rotten to the core.

3. Duffman: Isn't that being a little tough on the folks in that organization who perform the good deeds that they were organized for...or are you of the belief and conviction that the whole barrel of apples is rotten to the core.

The WHOLE barrel? No. A significant part of it? Yes. So much so that they do not deserve a single dime of taxpayer dollars ever again? Yes.

4. Sure, the ACORN organization *is* rotten to the core, enough so that 87 U.S. senators (I think a couple of Democrats were in on that one) voted to cut off federal funds to ACORN. I'm still waiting for some specific liberal condemnation of ACORN for indulging in the following:

- giving tax evasion advice for illegal activities
- aiding in illegal immigration
- aiding child prostitution
- aiding in the establishment of a brothel
- participating in voter registration fraud
- mis-use of public funds

Question for liberals: Do any of you feel any shame for what your baby, ACORN, has been doing? Is this kind of organization indicative of what modern liberalism is all about?? So much for women's rights. So much for "caring for the children".
And these cretins were invited by Obama and "Toes" Emanuel to help conduct the 2010 U.S. census!

5. This morning Dave Ross accused Rush Limbaugh and Michelle Malkin or "rush"ing to judgement with their assessment that the beating of a white student by black students was racially motivated. Limbaugh and Malkin were merely flattering our president who recently (and without knowing relevant facts) defamed Cambridge policemen who, said President Obama, acted "stupidly" in arresting Skip Gates. Obama implied that the arrest of a black man by a white policeman could only be the consequence of racial profiling.

If Malkin and Limbaugh had been more judicious than Obama in their evaluation of a biracial incident, Ross and other Democrats would probably accuse them of being racially disrespectful toward the president.

Mr. Ross's race antenna is strangely twisted. In the summer of 2001 KIRO's Mike Webb referred to President Bush's national security adviser as "Jemima Webb." KIRO, under old management, did not suspend or fire Webb. That happened years later for other reasons.

Jackson and Sharpton did not lead a boycott against KIRO and its sponsors.

KIRO's Dave Ross was strangely oblivious to Webb's blatant racism. Ross was uncharacteristically silent. Perhaps he was preoccupied with doing show prep on the underreported phenomenon of black-on-white violence, addressed last week in a column by an honest Domocrat, Leonard Pitts.

Ross was dishonest this morning in his ACORN spin. The proper analogy to O'Keefe in Maryland is not Washington's McDermott retailing an illegal tape from Florida. The correct analogy is to Maryland's Linda Tripp. All charges against Tripp for taping Lewinsky about Clinton's crimes were dismissed.

Further, unlike McDermott -- who immediately went into a year's-long modified limited hangout stonewall about his crime, and who immediately tried to lie -- O'Keefe said that he will willingly face Maryland justice. Bring it on.

(Ross says the pervs at ACORN did no crime; they only talked about crime. Judge Andrew Napolitano, who reviewed the Breitbart-Beck tape before its release, compiled a long list of ACORN's crimes. In fact, Dave, Gingrich, Boehner, and Armey on McDermott's stolen tape were only talking, and they committed no crime. Nor did they talk about violating a law. Only a House agreement was at issue. The law was clearly broken by McDermott. That's why he tried to lie his way out of a jam. And McDermott did not pay for his crime; that was done by the cronies and lobbyists paying tribute to McDermott's legal defense fund.)

Ross started his show this morning with a too-typical stunt, grabbing a piece of a previous Monson show to make a disparaging and out-of context point. It's the kind of cheap shot that Mr. Monson hasn't, to my knowledge, taken against Ross. Perhaps that should change. Monson should devote part of each broadcast to a Toss Ross update. It's only fair to correct Ross's one-sided reign of error.

6. Do they never learn? Why would these politicians want to associate themselves with one of the seediest, most disgusting groups out there? I question their judgment.

7. Yeah...I can hardly wait to get down there for all the Freebies. All provided by you the Tax Payer while ACORN takes all the credit. Such, a Deal! Talk about playing up to the Sucker Class in an effort to look all wonderful and magnanimous. But after all, its all a big game-play to buy love and votes from the Easy Believer Sucker Class/Liberals. They spread a few crumbs to the masses to Warrant and Showboat the need for their existence so, they can continue to dig deeply into the Tax Payer's pocket and make lucrative careers for themselves. Of course, the Liberals such as, Duffman will not only readily buy into the Scam, they will defend the Scam. What a Surprise!

9. #7 I wasn't 'defending' them at all, simply probing into whether or not the whole organization is worth it. Because I profess to not knowing it all, like you do, I was questioning in order to gain more relevent data. Forgive me for, in any way, offending you. [And for the record, I'm not a liberal...I regard myself as an independent in every sense of the definition of that word]

10. Hey, Michele @6...The vast majority of politicians are parasitic, dishonest scumbags on both sides of the isle. They pretend to be all wonderful and may vote righteously once in a while but, that's just, to keep the illusion of their worthiness to remain in office. Yes, I would be highly suspect of any politicians who associate themselves with ACORN.

11. Lest any of you ACORN supporters forget, Washington ACORN was on of the 17 states that had voter fraud perped by these knuckle draggers. I can see Duffman wanting to cut the organization some slack but I believe that since these latest wide ranging improprieties (and there have been many others), the whole batch of, nationawide, them are suspect.

12. ACORN has suspended its client activities and is performing an internal audit.

Even ACORN doesn't defend itself anymore.

Did all catch Jon Stewart's remarks about it? Hilarious.

The only people left defending ACORN are in the media.

13. A new video will be aired tonight on Hannity.

Strange how the training went badly in all of these offices, isn't it? And it's a remarkable coincidence that they all offer the exact same advice.

It's a puzzler...

14. I could hardly believe the ACORN lady in California who talked so casually about offing her husband, and how easy it would be to do that to other people!

15. Hey, @12 Gary...ACORN is just doing Damage Control. Pretending to correct itself and Cleanse itself into all Righteousness and Goodness. What a Laugh! Yes, some action will be taken but, the Snake, ACORN will simply move to a more deeper patch of grass.

Posted by: Daniel on September 16, 2009 12:54 PM
16. Daniel, agreed.

Tonight's episode... San Diego!

I sent mail to an ACORN rep. He wrote back and told me to get a job. I asked him if he could advise me on how to get a job and avoid paying income taxes.

17. Michele ... that woman said she was pulling their leg. The cops looked into it and her husbands are alive. Pretty much, at this point, nothing that ACORN woman said can be taken as true.

The women who gave advice to abet child sex slavery and so on, that all seems like legitimately given advice. Which is most likely why ACORN fired them.

18. what do you want to bet there will be no arrests of these people? Meanwhile, my accountant---if he ever tried to pull this kind crap "tax advice"---would practically be drawn and quartered by the authorities and the pieces thrown into the slammer for doing this kind of thing!

Hmmm, I'm starting to realize who all of Obama's non-taxpaying cabinet members may be getting their tax advice from....

19. Michele, I think that these latest hi-jinks are going to be too egregious for even the O'Bozo administration to ignore. That said, a thorough investigation will never occur simply because that examination would reveal the unfortunate tracks leading back to O'Bozo's back pocket...

With charges and convictions in 15 states including Washington State where Sec State Sam Reed called the 7 felony convictions of ACORN workers "The largest case of voter fraud in the history of Washington State", FOUR branches of ACORN (DC, Baltimore, New York and San Bernadino) offering advice on tax fraud and skirting the law for underage prostitution, how can you NOT conclude the entire bunch is bad?

Honestly Duffman, have you researched ACORN at all? Have you seen the FOUR tapes? I have. They are rotten to the core!

33. The New York Times also omitted "New York" from a list of cities Bertha Lewis claimed the duo failed in... *before* the New York video was released. What the reporter wrote:

"In a statement over the weekend, Bertha Lewis, the chief organizer for Acorn, said the bogus prostitute and pimp had spent months visiting numerous Acorn offices, including those in San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami and Philadelphia, before getting the responses they were looking for."

What she actually said in her statement was:

"This recent scam, which was attempted in San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia to name a few places, had failed for months before the results we've all recently seen. "

So, he purposefully omitted New York to not make ACORN look like a bunch of liars. And by the way, we struck gold in San Diego (another name on her list) today.

The MSM has chosen to lie. It's that simple.

34. Acorn is starting to remind me a bit of Hamas. On the one hand Hamas runs schools and hospitals; helps the poor; provides advocacy services. You know, community organizer kinds of things. So they are much beloved. Then of course there is the other side. You know, scooping up people they don't like and removing unnecessary appendages. Hiding missile launchers in day cares. Less socially positive work.

The defenders of Acorn talk about the great work they do for the community. Darn, if only those kids hadn't shown the criminal enterprise side of the organization. That's just dirty pool. Darn ambush journalists.

Let's see, who else did that? Was it, Al Capone? He was always giving to charity and helping out the poor. Particularly if he had just offed the family breadwinner. Now where was he from? Chicago?

Hmmmmmm. Corrupt community organizer from Chi Town. Now why does that sound familiar?

Hairy

36. Honestly Duffman, have you researched ACORN at all? Have you seen the FOUR tapes? I have.

Not four tapes. FIVE tapes now - Baltimore, Washington DC, Brooklyn, San Bernardino and San Diego. In the last, the ACORN gentleman expresses interest in obtaining the service of the 'prostitute' and inquires about her fees. He also suggests how to get a dozen underage El Salvadorean girls across the border at Tijuana, through the many contacts he has there.

ACORN is indeed a full-service organization, helping the poor - to become poorer, and become sex slaves to boot.

I seem to remember lots of folks decrying those predatory lenders screwing people....no doubt there were some, but I would bet and hope to see some investigation into ACORN being the biggest fraud in that. Hmmmm, what was the main linch pin in the economy drop....home loans and giving them to those that can't afford it...Thanks ACORN, Fannie & Freddie and of course Barney Frank & beans.
