See Gran Torino
Clint Eastwood could walk away from the Oscars with awards for Best Picture, Best Director, & Best Actor. And it would all be just.
That is all.

1. Can't wait.
2. Yes, it soooo rocked. Much better than I expected! As good and satisfying as The Dark Knight.
3. Why? He didn't make any movies about Barrack Obama.
4. Oh boy...I know a 67 yr old who loves Eastwood and was singularly unimpressed this movie... said there was no one in the theater under 50... actually told our 20 yr old not to bother to go see it.
5. I saw it on Sunday in Lynnwood. Different ending than I thought it would be, but it is a must see movie.
6. Haven't been in a theatre in decades, as very little of what Hollyweird produces does much to interest me. Television and music also, for that matter. I guess those of us who grew up watching John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, Gregory Peck and Charlton Hesston, while listening to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, B.B. King and Eric Clapton expect more from performers than what younger folks do. Movies were bigger than life, with heros and villans, and the 'good guy' usually prevailed. Rockers and bluesmen commanded the stage with precision instrumentals, intricate arrangements and powerful vocals.
And today... any cluster of dim-witted 8th-graders could perform the mix of chanting, bass and beat of Hip-Hop. And blood, sex and special effects in today's movies provide cover for lack of plot, script or genuine acting ability. Color me bored by 21st century "performers' and their remedial 'culture'.
That said....I may just have to sneak in and see 'Grand Torino'.
7. Apologize for some of the spelling in the previous post. Proofreading....eeeeegggghhhh!
8. At 4: We went to see if with our 36 year old daughter last week. The theatre was full; and probably 30% were under 50.
It's got a lot of great messages that the under-30 crowd, has never learned, and certainly need to learn. We loved it.
9. Simply a fantastic movie. I teared up, and I am not one to do that under most circumstances.
Also, he made me want to go out and buy a 1911.
10. I have to agree...this was probably the best movie I've ever seen.
11. The question this movie answers is;
It IS more important in what we do than what we say!
12. THE best movie I've seen in 10 years and I see a lot of movies. Nick Schenk should get best screenplay. Eastowood should get Oscars for best director and actor. Anhey Her and Christopher Carley should get nominations for best supporting actress and actor, respectively. Strong clashes of personalities, cultures and eras well counter-pointed throughout the film. Walt's growing disgust with the world, particularly with his shallow and venal family, drive him to commit his last act of honor. It's like a John Ford Cowboys and Indians saga set in current Detroit. Fabulous!
13. Wow. Giving props to a self-described "Libertarian." I'm amazed.
14. Wow. Giving props to a self-described "Libertarian." I'm amazed.
15. Libertarians have more traction than Neo-conservatives even though they don't get elected. So, they have done less damage to this country than the Neo-cons. More Republicans need to gravitate toward Libertarians and away from Neo-conservatives. Traditional conservatives are OK too.
16. Look up neo-conservative in a real dictionary, not Wikipedia.
