1. Well, guys, you all know the drill:

If your candidate wins the recount, it's The Will of The People, Absolute and Unquestionable.

If your candidate loses the recount, then FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD LIBERAL MEDIA GEORGE SOROS JAIL TIME FOR ALL ELECTIONS OFFICIALS.

Get right to it!

3. If Liz wants to know what mistake cost her the election, she should review her TV commercial. Liz's mom sits in front of the camera and tells us how awful it is to listen to the lies being told about her little girl. You would think the the Democratic party would have told her what a bone headed move that was.

4. I agree Moondoggie. When I saw her mother appear in her ad, I couldn't help but view Liz Loomis as running to her Mother saying "MOM!! Mike is being mean to me!! make him stop". If you're going to have a character witness for you, it's probably prudent to have someone...anyone, other than your mother.

5. Tensor: If Loomis had won by 117 votes, I would seriously be calling on Hope not to seek a recount unless he already had a very good reason to suspect fowl play.

Example: I agreed with Thune's decision not to seek a recount in 2002, even when he did have evidence of some hanky panky, because I knew there was no way of overturning it.

Its you guys who want to overturn things on recounts.

6. Oh, and by "no way of overturning it" I mean "legitimately" overturning it by counting votes that should have counted but were not, or visa versa.

7. I'm sure you were the first to tell Franken to drop his recount bid, right Tensor?

8. I hate the "divine" intent of the ballot counting. That allows all sorts of shenanigans.

In Minnesota, there is the case of a Frankensteinite attorney who challenged even the most ridiculous ballot. The R monitor began to challenge an equal number of ridiculous votes unless the Frankensteinite quit it.

I believe there has to be a good reason to count or throw out a vote.

9. The 2004 election brought home how important clear, clean processes were to elections.

Our systems and procedures need to be designed and operated as absolutely perfectly as possible, both to allow in every legal vote and to preclude any illegal ballots from entering the ballot universe. There must also be very clear laws about "found ballots" and when they are included and when they aren't.

I prefer polling places with ballot readers that check your ballot before you leave, this way, if there is a question about "voter intent", the voter can fix it themselves. All mail balloting shifts the very important task of "voter intent" to the government. How is that better?

In this particular race, the difference was so small that a mandatory recount was in order - why not? Of course, if the results reverse, then I think there should be an additional recount - a tiebreaker of sorts.

If the first and second counts don't change the results, then I think the losing party should bow out gracefully.

10. There's Hope for the GOP and hope for a recount that doesn't change the result. That may be possible, since it isn't in King County.

There is also hope that Al Franken-stein will come up short in MN and if he does, he will do what the left loves to do - he'll sue and say to the public; Screw YOU !

11. So, dime bag... I'm sure by now you've communicated with the Frankenites that the people have spoken and it's time for him to stop this sniveling nonsense?

Of course not. After all, to be a fringe-left nutter is to live by the double standard that you apply only to those disagreeing with your position.

Hypocrite.
