No, it isn't going down the same path as the famous ad that made Democrats cry "sexism!" but it does feature a speaker who is female, a Democrat, and a union member.
I've had Democrats state their belief to me that Burner under-performs with middle-aged women (or at least she did in 2006). That would explain her "Oprah-like magazine" for reaching out to women voters, and it explains a lot of this ad if you think about it:
Posted by Eric Earling at October 31, 2008 08:12 PM | Email ThisIt really was a dishonest argument, thus it was annoying that she even tried to pad the meaning behind her experience. I think we've all had enough of Burner's twisting her background and stories however she 'thinks' she has to.
Posted by: Michele on October 31, 2008 09:08 PMThe teen-like discourse, chip-on-the-shoulder, grating tone, faux empathy, inflated self opinion, and refusal to back down, all hint at severe character flaws.
Above all else, Darcy Burner needs to grow up a bit.

Did Burner's Consultant Use Organized Crime Ties to Turn Out Votes?
Tells Netroots Conference He Paid Off Mobsters
Washington- With her candidacy going down in flames, Darcy Burner's desperate campaign faces another political disaster just days before Tuesday's election. A recently uncovered video shows Burner and close adviser Blair Butterworth at a Netroots Nation conference, with Butterworth relating a story about him paying an organized crime leader to turn out votes for his candidate.
With her general consultant admitting that he's not above dishing out money to organized thugs in order to drum up votes, how will Burner's tumultuous campaign respond to this embarrassing discovery? Burner has already been caught in a web of falsehoods about her non-existent Harvard economics degree, and now she is confronted with another scandal virtually on the eve of the election. Will Burner rightly fire and denounce her close adviser, or will she turn a blind eye to these shady dealings in her ongoing effort to win a seat in Congress by any means necessary?

"Considering that Darcy Burner's wildly out-of-touch positions make her painfully unqualified to represent Washington voters in Congress, it's no surprise that she'd turn to a crooked adviser in her effort to win a seat in Congress at any cost," said NRCC spokesman Ken Spain. "After lying about having a degree in economics, Burner has quickly developed a reputation for trying to win at all costs. The last thing Congress needs is more hyper-partisan, win-at-all-costs politicians muddying up the swamp."
