Mail Ballot Horror Show (XXXVIII)

KIMA-TV: "Forged Signatures On Voting Ballots"

YAKIMA -- When Action News reporter Audrey Asistio received another person's ballot in the mail, she couldn't help but wonder if some voters are filling out other people's ballots, trying to get that extra vote illegally. The Yakima County Auditor says, yes, it's happening. She says they have received a large number of ballots with forged signatures, but she says those ballots won't count.
I'd be more inclined to believe the Yakima County Auditor about the trustworthiness of "signature verification" if I didn't already have a mountain of examples of both invalid ballots that have been accepted as well as valid ballots that have been rejected.

For more on the follies of "signature verification", peruse our archives.

1. Stef...

Interesting comment from the Democrat auditor from Yakima Co...(You think they are Acorn Mom's? - If so, nut doesn't fall from the tree)

...The county auditor says a lot of the forged signatures they've found are from moms filling out their children's ballots. It doesn't matter if your child is away at school because filling out the ballot for them is against the law.

2. Corky Mattingly is the same loser Auditor who tried to dupe other Auditors into signing a SUpport Dean Logan letter....blindly saying everything was done according to law in King Kounty in 2004.

Ask Mattingly if these forgeries have been turned over to the Prosecuting Attorney like they were in Jefferson County?
It's her job and the job of the Canvassing Board to make sure these "forgeries" are turned over to the Prosecuting Attorney.

3. There is certainly sufficient time to receive the ballots here locally, and send them off to your kids at school - as we did, for them to vote and mail them in on time.

No excuse to vote your kids ballot unless you realized your parenting was so weak that you raised someone that can't think for themselves - regardless of your political views.

4. A friends wife just received two ballots in the mail. One in her maiden name and one in her married name. They called King County elections and were told to discard the one in her maiden name, which they did. Now they are wondering if the valid one will be counted or held up for some reason. It appears to me the system is still broke.

It's also illegal, you know.

I honestly don't know what my sig was when I first registered... heh. But I gave it my best guess.
