Reichert Sweeps Newspaper Endorsements

Break out the brooms, the Tacoma News Tribune is endorsing Reichert in tomorrow's paper. They join the Seattle Times and Seattle P-I in doing likewise.

The P-I was the one switch from 2006, when the Times and the TNT endorsed Reichert then too.

Note this bit from tomorrow's editorial:

Not surprisingly, Burner tends to reflect the political enthusiasms of her [netroots] supporters. Her opposition to international trade agreements is troubling. Like others opposed to free trade, she champions "fair trade" - a term of art for encumbering agreements with U.S.-dictated labor and environmental rules that would be deal-killers for major trade partners.

This stance would poorly represent the nation's most trade-dependent state - a major beneficiary of the North American Free Trade Agreement Burner opposes.

That conclusion is no stunner to regular readers of this blog.

1. Darcy Burner scarcely made an appearance in the southern portion of the 8th. All citizens of the 8th in Pierce County should be voting for Reichert for that reason alone.

If Darcy were elected, citizens of the Pierce County section of the 8th would be getting better Representation from Sasquatch than Darcy Burner.

2. If the TNT endorses Obama (if it hasn't already), it will have to ignore his position on trade, most publicly articulated at the final debate last week, as it is scarcely different from the union-environmentalist position the paper criticizes in Burner.

3. wow. I haven't really listened closely to Darcy Burner--other than noting that she is a nutroot.

But for our local cheerleaders for Democrats to slap her in the face and endorse a Republican--she must be as crazy as Cynthia McKinney.

4. Rumor has it that the Darcy is sporting a baby bump. Ask anyone who attended the Newcastle C of C forum on Saturday. Anything we should know, Darcy???

8. I thought Republican hated the MSM because they're so Pro-Obama. Funny how things change when they actually endorse your candidate. I expected nothing less from the Hypocrisy Party.

No word on all those conservative newspapers endorsing Obama on here. I guess those newspapers are full of "secret leftists".

9. The MSM isn't hated by us... like you, they're much more an object to be scorned and pitied.

If we are to give endorsements any weight, then we must also give the endorsements of the Communist Party (Who endorsed OhDrama) and Hamas (Who also endorsed OhDrama) equal weight.

The problem with that is, of course, that most people really don't want a communist-endorsed, terrorist-endorsed president. Leftists like Pacto, factless, ten cents and so forth aren't bothered by endorsements from groups they admire... thus they are unconcerned about this issue.

Endorsements themselves are, in fact, worthless. They give the paper's in question a chance to spread more ink around.

In this case, Burnout's a political moron and the tea leaves say she has to go back to her community organizer roots to get anywhere.

That newspapers, infested by leftists, have really drank the kool-aid isn't based on the reality of the situation as much as it's based on the perception of reality.

In this case, to endorse OhDrama is to ignore the following facts:

He has never ran anything in his life.
He has never risked his life for his country, and for leftist scum, that was one of their HUGE issues when they supported Kerry... now, hypocritically, not so much.
His own VP candidate says he isn't ready to be president, a fact that those factually challenged like the leftists here ALWAYS overlook, but indisputable on it's face.
He's lying when he tells us about tax cuts for 95% of the people, since no where near that figure actually PAYS taxes... and because the various bail outs have left us broke.
He has zero military or strategic vision and refuses to admit he made a horrific mistake when he joined with the rest of the leftist sheep in wrongly telling us that the surge would not work.
He could not now get a security clearance because of his association with terrorists.
His 20 years of association with a racist bigot preacher; his own bigoted positions laid out in his books... none of those things have apparently impacted in the editorial rooms of these newspapers... but they have attracted the communists and the terrorists.

Nor have these obvious shortcoming impacted the more politically moronic among us like our leftist playground contingent.

10. Re 8: Yawn.

Bryan-College Station Eagle

Bryan Texas, Population: 72,015.
College Station, Texas, Population: 80,315.

"Cato the Censored"... if only.

11. Bryan-College Station Eagle is the newpapaper serving the College Station area of TX, home to Texas A&M University

Little Texas A&M fact:
"As a Senior Military College, Texas A&M is one of three public universities with a full-time, volunteer Corps of Cadets. It provides more commissioned officers to the United States Armed Forces than any other school outside of the service academies."

For the paper to pick Sen. Obama over a hardened military veteran like Sen. McCain seems to say a lot.

Of course you'd dismiss the as some po-dunk paper to suit your misguided views. Anyway they also went for Sen. Obama, the last (D) the paper endorsed was Lyndon B. Johnson (D-TX)

Yup, they have the same issue that the Eagle did:
"Perhaps the worst mistake McCain made in his campaign for the White House was the choice of the inexperienced and inflammatory Palin as his vice-presidential running mate."

12. Did Biden really say "good luck to you, kiddo" about Darcy?!

Doesn't that say it all? "Kiddo"...Just what we need..a kid...talk about a backhanded compliment...

13. Pacto, you never seem to address the issues.

Just for giggles, let's take The Bankrupt Columbian.

They also endorsed The Moronic One. Does that matter?

Hardly.

Among other reasons: The Bankrupt Columbian endorsed nothing BUT democrats for ANY open seat; they endorsed Sam Reed and then whined about his worthless job performance, and they used their bully pulpit to beat the hell out of candidates/incumbents they didn't like.

And then today, that simplistic dwarf/mental midget that edits the editorial page lied about The Bankrupt Columbian's endorsements altogether.

Does it matter?

No.

Do the Reichert endorsements matter?

No.

Do the Saint Obama lies and distortions these clowns use to support the Empty Suited One matter?

Does the Communist Party endorsement of the anti-American racist bigot you support matter? Does the Hamas endorsement matter?

No?

Not to leftist scum, it doesn't. Because clowns like you are so soaked in your hatred of anything to the right of Lenin that no matter what idiocy or lies Saint OhDrama supports, or if elected, does, you idiots will STILL come in here and attempt to convince us that chicken shit is, in reality, chicken salad.

Just like you do now.

LOL, and the Right wing wants to use the Govt. to shove your American Taliban based version of morality down the throats of millions of Americans. You can say goodbye to the 1st and 10th Amendment. Want to do something outside the bounds of the American Taliban's false 1950's based throwback reality, well you can find yourself imprisoned or black listed for your particular beliefs. Your a gay man and you want to have a job? Fat chance, maybe you missed the sign that said "heterosexuals only" on the door. You a woman and want to make the same as your male co-workers, fat chance. You a minority who wants to work hard? Sorry, we have to check everyone's background to make sure they're American enough to work...forigeners not welcome. Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, sorry, this is a "Christan" nation and anyone who belies otherwise will be converted. You happen poor and hungry, sorry no more food handouts for you, we make sure to pour bleach on it so it's inedible, you are more then welcome to attend our American reeducation camp and do hard labor while reciting bible verses.

Conservatives would start making sure everyone displays the flag, using the police to set up random Constitutional checkpoints to make sure you are truly American enough to answer citizenship questions. Want to sit back and enjoy a nice bottle of wine at home, sorry Prohibition is back.

Conservatives don't have any regard for anyone who disagrees with you and decry anyone who holds anything to right of by calling them names that instilling hatred into society. Just look at the National Review. How many Obamacon's have been fired for their views? I'm surprised conservatives are not canceling their WSJ subscriptions in droves after Peggy Noonan clearly pointed out how ill informed Gov. Plain is, how little experience she has, and how irresponsible McCain was for picking her as his VP.

15. Pairs,

First amendment. Look at what your own Slavery Party is doing - calls for the "fairness doctrine". Look at Obama threatening to sue TV stations that carry ads he doesn't agree with. Calling for investigations of those who criticize his positions and policies.

Second amendment. Need I say more? Your Slavery Party wants to eliminate it, and only when slapped down by the Supreme Court (this time) did That One choose to say "yeah, I agree".

Third amendment - Obama's called for a "civilian national security force" equal to the size of the existing military, and with a budget commensurate with the DOD. This extra-ordinary force could be stationed wherever That One wanted.

Fourth amendment - see Joe the plumber and Sarah Palin for how Obama and his cronies view privacy.

Fifth amendment - no self-incrimination needed! That One, with his lackeys in the media, will willingly destroy any and all who challenge his leadership. As your Slavery Party journalist hero said, it's not the accuracy of the facts, but the seriousness of the charge.

Sixth amendment - ask Larry Sinclair about that one... You know, the man claiming to be Obama's homosexual lover that was detained by Joe Biden's son, and has had his court dates repeatedly delayed...

Seventh amendment - yet to be seen.

Eighth amendment - just destroy a man's personal life via the media, that's enough to ruin. No need for a court sentence when you can do infinitely more damage with your lackeys.

Ninth amendment - my right to use my own property and keep my own assets? Gone. That One demands that I "sacrifice" for his greater good, whether I choose to give or not. Not to mention nationalization of entire industries...

Tenth amendment - direct subsidies to the people, buying votes of millions with welfare checks. Regulations and outright theft of personal and corporate assets.

Yeah, Obama's only planning to trash nine of the ten that must make him a veritable right-wing ideologue in your world!

16. "How many Obamacon's have been fired for their views?"

Not nearly enough?

Thanks for asking.

17. "Conservatives don't have any regard for anyone who disagrees with you"

Nonsense. I have total regard for anyone who disagrees with me WHEN THEY CAN PROVE WHAT THEY'RE SAYING.

Those who live with you in the Twilight Zone?

Not so much.
