Fight for Us Senator McCain, Fight for Us!

OK, the bailout bill has passed. Now it's time to call out the culprits. Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Chuck Schumer, Barney Frank and a host of other Democrats lay the whole problem at the feet of the Republicans. They have no compunction about inserting politics into one of the most critical challenges in recent memory. Incredibly, Bill Clinton accepted a share of the blame for himself and the Democrats but he was in a definite minority within his party.

The job of pointing out the dirty fingers of Senator Dodd and his sweetheart mortgage from Countrywide, the chutzpah of Barney Frank claiming that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were sound and not in need of more oversight and Chuck Schumer's loose lips that helped sink a California bank falls to the one person with the media exposure to do it - John McCain. It was commendable that McCain did not sink to the Pelosi level in the heat of negotiations on the bailout bill. For this Dodd, Schumer, Reid, Frank, Pelosi and other Democrats attacked him for returning to Washington to work on the bailout, doing his job as a Senator. Amazing. McCain owes these Congressional colleagues nothing. They have used every opportunity, especially during this crisis, to pump up the non-participant Obama and degrade the one who put the nation first, McCain.

Senator McCain said if he were elected president, he would point out every spending earmark and make the authors famous. Well the just passed bailout bill gives him his first golden opportunity. It is loaded with pork. Tax breaks for the rum industry, fishermen, people who bike to work, NASCAR and on and on; name names, Republican or Democrat, who used this crisis for political gain. Even if some of the earmarks were for "good" purposes, they should not have been in what was arguably the most significant piece of legislation in recent memory. Its passage should have been on the merits of the bill not bribes.

Senator McCain, in your nomination acceptance speech, you said "Stand up, stand up, stand up and fight." Senator, you fought for us before, fight for us again and we'll fight with you. Attack the Democrat hypocrisy. Don't let the Democrats who were principals in causing the financial meltdown get away with the "Blame Bush" canard. Don't let Obama disguise his leftist worldview with teleprompter feel good rhetoric. Straight talk to the people may not only win you the presidency but also save some House and Senate seats. Fight for us Senator, Fight for us.

2. The root of the problems we are experiencing is...
1. Too low of interest rates
2. People thinking that GSE's would not be allowed to leading to too much faith in mortgage backed securities.
3. Government regulations promoting homeownership over sound lending practices.

Both democrats and republican leadership still think that the federal reserve and the lack of a gold standard are a good idea so #1 will not be addressed.

Both McCain and Obama think the GSE's are a good idea. McCain recognized a problem a few years back which is good. The problem was his solution was not to get rid of the GSEs but rather to add another layer of government and regulation.

#3 was passed with the help of both democrats and republicans. Republicans are now crying about it being a bad idea yet I remember Bush bragging about record numbers of americans owning homes. They also may disagree with this one particular regulation now but they do not have a problem with government pushing an agenda through regulation.

Oh and when I say republicans here... I mean non Ron Paul Republicans of course. Ron Paul and his supporters were laughed at a year ago when we tried to say monetary policy was a problem in this country.

3. Warren,

Good post. Decades ago we war-gamed at Naval Intel Officer School whether a thoroughly infiltrated media could overthrow our government through psyops. We concluded it could. I have concluded it is happening.

John McCain can, in fact, buy us time to clean this up ... if he fights. Sarah, bless her heart, is starting to fight. We have the ammo, and we have the weapons, but we most need the will. Most of the media is focusing on neutralizing our will.

McCain's task, like any CO's, is to propel our will to fight the clear and present danger posed by this new domestic enemy personified in Obama.

4. McCain messed up with this bailout vote and he is not even President yet. What makes you think he will change as President when he has had a history of supporting bad policies and stabbing conservatives in the back?

And, since he is so much for the end of Partisanship, how many Democrats do you think he will have in his cabinet and his administration in general? No, I am not joking. Bush even had a Democrat in his cabinet. Norman Mineta, remember him, Secretary of Transportation. If Bush had one it is a safe bet that McCain will have many more.

Well since McCain voted for the bailout, is there any doubt that he will lose the election. He has deflated all the excitement conservatives had after he choose Sarah Palin. Most conservatives will stay home, and for me, I will do something I thought I never would.

Since McCain is running against Obama, as a conservative I have to vote for Obama.

Things will get worse with McCain.

Things will get much worse with Obama. And that is why I am voting for Obama. For things will only get worse with McCain but they need to get much worse for us to survive as a nation.

Of course a statement like that needs an explanation. And I will do so in the form of an analogy. Do you know how to cook a frog? Well, if you put it in a pot of boiling water the frog will quickly jump out. But if you put a frog in a pot of water that is warm and turn up the heat gradually up to boiling the frog will just sit there not even realizing it is being boiled alive.

Obama is the one who puts the frog into the hot water and McCain is the one who turns up the heat gradually. With Obama his extremism will cause a backlash so great that America will start electing good leaders to oppose him. It happened in 1980 and it happened in 1994. And it will happen again.

But McCain he will really be the death of the Republican Party. As I said above things will get worse with McCain and therefore he and the Republican Party will get the blame. And then America will elect a Democrat in 2012 for President. And if recent history has shown us anything it has shown that the Democratic Candidate has been getting increasingly extreme. So I can't tell you who the Democrats will put up that year but I can tell you that person will be as extreme if not more extreme than Obama. So, how long are we putting off having an Obama-like President? Four Years?

And meanwhile McCain has shown that he wants to drive conservatives and conservatism away from the Republican Party, his choice of Palin notwithstanding. For those of us who believe that the only solution to our country's problems, it is unacceptable that neither of the two major parties represents conservative values.

So, I am left with the ultimate act of "tough love". Not to say there aren't hard times ahead for there is but that is true with McCain as well. But at least with Obama there is hope that things will get better after him. With McCain all hope is lost.

7. I agree with the premise of your post. This election is all about Barack Obama. John McCain needs to stand up and fight and call BS on Obama with his shuck and jive answers and whenever he does the Bush 3 number. He is slimy slick and needs to get rocked, so that countless voters will not have the wool pulled over their eyes like they have up to now. Sarah Palin has dove into bringing up his questionable character and it absolutely needs to be done.

Topics that are on the table in the next debate and also thereafter:
- Associations with Wright, Rezko, Ayers and ACORN
- Corruption - ACORN - The fact that he has been indifferent about and generally not acted where there is corruption, while knowledgeable of its existence while in Chicago and similarly while in Washington DC.
- Fannie and Freddie lining his pockets with over $100,000K in campaign contributions in only 3 years (2nd most in the US Senate over the last 20 years).
- His lies (like Bidens) that have distorted McCain's record and there are numerous.
- Questioning his rhetoric that attempts to blame McCain for things that he cannot be linked to. Turn it around and show what Obama's record that is unflattering.
- Obama will be the second term of Carter.

I know it is a rather lengthy laundry list. The phone # of the McCain campaign is 703-418-2008, to speak to someone direct tomorrow.

8. See cold, hard video proof of democrats in complete denial of problems at Fannie--even weirdly making accusations of 'lynching' toward the republicans trying to make known the problems in congressional hearings. You can't deny who was trying to shine the light of day on Fannie (Rs), and who was in total denial (Ds):

So, McCain is President? Must be news to Obama.

You're attempting to hold him to a stupid, impossible standard for your own partisan gain. He never said, nor should he ever say, that he'd vote against every bill with pork in it as a Senator. That would essentially remove him from the Senate. He'd b a no vote on every bill. He'd be a speed bump, not an actual voice in the Senate. It would be grandstanding for it's own sake.

If you might have noticed, the job of President is a little different.

I know you don't care about this, you're as intellectually honest as Barack Obama is experienced and wise, but I had to point it out anyway.

10. Anyone here know about the Keating 5 ? McCain helped start this avalanche of failures by getting the Fed to help bail out his buddies bank. He was the first one to pony up to the feeding trough of the Fed. Google Keating 5 I'm voting for neither Obama or McCain, they are both the same !

11. #10: I heard a democrat (don't know his name, but sounded like someone who was there when it was happening) on television say that McCain was cleared of any wrongdoing in that situation, and that in fact McCain should not have been dragged through that at all, as it was basically a political move against him.

12. The financial crisis is all about bad debt caused by the government promoting excessive borrowing. The $700 billion bailout will only make matters worse because the government doesn't have $700 billion to spend. Thanks to the drunken spending bender that Bush went on, the government is already running a $500 billion a year deficit. The government will have to borrow more money and incur more debt to fund this program. This time, the Chinese and Japanese aren't going to fund the borrowing by buying T-bills. The money is going to come right from the Federal Reserve further inflating the money supply, which will very likely lead to Jimmy Carter style inflation and interest rates. The wholesale price index has already increased by over 9% in the last year, which is the worse inflation in 27 years. It's only going to get worse.

Politicians of both parties have created this mess. Anyone who thinks that these same people will fix it is not living in the real world.

13. I posted at the SP Public Blog on this now two weeks ago. The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of Democrats who put "affordable housing" ahead of sensible lending practices. To then turn this around and deny their culpability is beyond the pale. McCain should be attacking with full force. And the Democratic Presidential nominee has direct involvement.

This financial disaster is the consequence of Political Correctness laced with Zero Responsibility. Both essential hallmarks of the Democratic Party.

14. Dumbo, did you double up on your "slime" pills today?

Look, I made the decision not to vote for McCain a LONG time ago. He sold us out on illegal alien amnesty and he sold us out on this worthless bailout, rife with cancerous payoffs and billions in add ons that have NOTHING to do with our financial crisis.

In working to get this piece of crap passed, McCain has certainly strengthened my conviction that he isn't the guy who should be our president.

I write that with a heavy heart. I will not vote for him, (not that it matters, since that scum bag OhDrama has the Soviet Socialist Republic of Washington locked up) and his choice to sell us all out with this bill certainly supports that decision.

16. The Fox Obama expose was great. We should encourage Fox to make Obama exposes regular features in an attempt to balance coverage. The other networks have been supporting the Obama insurgency; please feel free to counter them as you wish.

At Tuesday's debate, McCain must accuse Obama of being a dangerous security risk to America, unworthy of the Democrat party's nomination, and demand he resign from the race, forthwith. If Obama refuses, then McCain should refuse to further validate Obama's candidacy, refuse to debate an enemy, and walk off the stage.

23. John & Michelle @10&11. Bill Bennett, brother of William Bennett, and attorney for Bill Clinton during some of Clinton's worst times a decade ago, has stated that as the Democrat's attorney who investigated the Keating case, that he found no evidence of any wrongdoing by McCain, and believed he was only included in the congressional investigation so a Republican would make the scandal bipartisan. Despite Bennett's request that McCain be dismissed from the allegations, ranking Democrats refused, even though it meant continuing the smear of John Glenn (D), who was also found to have done nothing wrong. McCain's inclusion, as well as Glenn's, was politically motivated. The Keating Five should have been remembered as the Keating Three, but Democrats will smear anyone if it scores them political points, even one of their own heroes.

24. I look at the bailout I not see a fix for the problem Just money to cover the problem. Democrats want 50+ Percent income for morgtages. That way they can keep throwing more good money after Bad Money.
McCain needs to fight. Pointing fingers is not in his background. And it may prevent him from being active in making statements about OBama and Democrats.
Conservatives know it is a war. Moderates like Bush and MCCain think they can work across the isle and give Democrats all they want. McCain is weak. BUt he is a thousand times better than Obama. Obama with the help of the Democrats in Congress continue the mover of this country to Socialism. All of Obama mentors growing up where socialists. They will force their will on everyone else. Socialism is all the power to the elite and put the rest of the country to the lowest common denominator. Goverment waste of money and then claiming they are solving an issue. that they are making worse will be the norm of the day. Feel good legislature that puts more money down the black hole of Government good intentions. No solutions just throw money at failed programs because they know it will work only if they get enough money.

25. I heard a statistic tonight: Obambi has been in the Senate 914 days...and has take 913 MILLION DOLLARS in earmarks.

John McCain has been in the Senate 20 years and has taken ZERO dollars in earmarks.

AGAIN, for our ADD loony libs: this meltdown can be laid at the stinky feet of your Comrade Carter.

This particular set of dominoes was set in motion by Carter and his demand that institutions make it easier for minorities to get loans, by eliminated redlining and essentially erasing common sense rules for lending. It wasn't that they were undeserving of the American dream, but it WAS that Carter changed the rules of how that could happen.

Clinton continued and expanded that. THEN there was the advent of the net, changing rules of investment, daytraders and short selling.

Banks were forced BY NEW RULES SET FORTH BY A DEMOCRAT CONGRESS and COMRADE CARTER to lend to people with unqualified finances. Suddenly houses were being gobbled up and WOW! the housing market boomed ... you do remember that inconveient Supply and Demand Principle, don't you? Well, DEMAND was king.

As Banks became skittish about holding the mortgages of those they knew were unqualified borrowers they sold those mortgages up the line.

Enter Fannie, Freddie and Franklin Raines. Under Raines the rules for "executives bonuses" were changed and became dependant up on VOLUME. Hence Fannie and Freddie gobbled up mortgages of unqualified borrowers from skittish banks.... and Franklin Raines "earned" 90 MILLION DOLLARS in under 9 years in bonuses from that volume.

On the bottom of that upside down triangle those same unqualified borrowers found themselves innundated with cheap credit: "No Down Payment", "No Interest" for X years. Hells bells! They bought themselves Ipods and flat screens, SUV's and hot tubs.... No PAYMENT NECESSARY... YET.

But, YET came.
YET demanded payment.
YET was adjustable rate mortgages that went UP UP UP and never down.
YET became one more in a stack of YET bills that could not be met and YET was ignored/defaulted upon.
YET was the determining factor to sell the house they never could afford and paid too much for because so many others had bought house they could not afford and drove up the housing prices.
BUT YET also caused all those other ill-afforded house into the market too... that nasty old Supply and Demand Principle again, but SUPPLY is the new king.

The banks who sold all those mortgages, who provided all that "No Down Payment", "No Interest" for X years credit were not getting paid and they passed that anxiety back UP the line ... and it ended with the crash of Fannie and Freddie.... after good old Franklin Raines left with his 90 MILLION DOLLARS in volume bonuses... right into his NEW job with Obambi

There's more. Much, MUCH more. There's the sweetheart mortgages that Dodd, Biden and a whole gaggle of Dems received from Countrywide; there's the money Dodd, Obambi and and equally large gaggle of Dems received from Fannie and Freddie; there's the protection of Fannie and Freddie by Barney Frank (on behalf of his boy-toy) and Maxine Waters (in the name of racism).

This debacle was started by nothing more than affirmative action for unqualified borrowers and may just end with an affirmative action law student who became an affirmative action Senator, and affirmative action candidate becoming our first affirmative action President.

God help us.

26. This is classic KS and Robert. You don't know diddle about what happened so you just make up something that sounds good and run with it. Chapter 1 of the Democratic play book.

Chapter 2 is to blame Bush for it. It is amazing to see all the Dumbocrats running campaigns as if they were running against Bush.

Chapter 3, go back and do 1 and 2 again.

I guess if you don't have any ideas, don't have any leadership ability, and are desperate you have to fall back on that tired old mantra.

Is there a lot of blame to go around? Sure there is. Blame in both parties? You bet.

But the moves that created the problem, then made it worse, and were bought off to prevent it from being cleaned up all dump right on the doors of the Dumbocrats.

This is why you have only had two Presidents in the last 40 years. And won't have another one for at least 4 more terms.

John McCain, born August 29, 1936, spent in his 34th birthday in a prison in communist North Vietnam. He had already been imprisoned and tortured for over two years (since October 1967), and he would not be freed until March 1973.

I'm fascinated with the fact that Sarah Palin can conflate party infighting and score-settling with being a "maverick"... and gets a pass.

Bleating about unsubstantiated hearsay regarding ACORN, Rezko, Ayers, and Wright is NOTHING compared to the skeletons that are in your own candidates' closets. It is pure cognitive dissonance (or blatant stupidity) to call Obama out for things like this when McCain and Palin are guilty of far worse.

Look, I can respect an honest and frank discussion about political differences... but this is pathetic mudslinging at best. It completely demonstrates the utter moral bankruptcy of the Republican Party. So much for claiming you're "adults"... you're pretty much nothing but whiny, bratty children.

36. Robert,

And even Bill Clinton pointed out that during his years in Congress the Republicans tried to pass the neccessary reform of Fannie and Freddie, but was blocked by the fillibuster of Democrats who claimed we did not need it, so just having control of the house and Senate is not always enough when the minority part will use a fillibuster at the drop of a dime to get their way (i.e.judicial nominations).

You also might want to remember that Obama, on behalf of ACORN, successfully sued the federal governement to enact the CRA. The CRA, in a nutshell, forced fianancial institutions to take on risky loans in the name of diversity (Barney Frank and Chris Dodd backed the effort 100%).

And the freedom of association quip was groundless. What do you want me to say? The last thread's issue was about licensed professionals not doing their jobs, and you made a Godwin-esque comment about Nazis. Brilliant. Did you fail high school debate class?

47. @46 dumbo kid - so point out to me the law that dictates licensed pharmacists must dispense birth control to whoever comes in, assuming their boss instructs them that they can go by their conscience on the issue. Now even if there were such a law, I'd say it was unconstitutional. I believe in 100% freedom of association OR Death.

You didn't answer the previous question about whether Scientologist pharmacists should be able to decide not to fill anti-depressant prescriptions. Should other people have veto power when it comes to our own medical care? Should I have to get your permission to get bypass surgery, for example?

And nice job of avoiding the real questions in this thread!

Posted by: demo kid on October 5, 2008 10:43 PM
53. @49: So you're avoiding the question with an ad hominem attack, eh? Wow... guess I hit a nerve! Sorry to bring to light that your candidate has been getting a free pass from you folks, and is actually far less of the war hero you'd like to think he is.

Of course, if you were a reasonable, rational member of the military, you'd realize that anyone that crashed planes as much as McCain did should have been grounded. He endangered lives... and no one except for a blatant partisan hack would give him a pass for that.

@51: Nothing new there. Right-wing talking points. Of course, it doesn't look good that McCain takes soft money from companies that benefit from deregulation, while Obama just sat on a nonprofit board with Ayers.

Just another case of Conservative Cognitive Dissonance (CCD), eh?

63. ACORN and Gamaliel have been actively propagandizing, agitating, and indoctrinating in our Seattle for years. They also infiltrate blogs like SP to steer opposition. Their style is frenzied, rapid, formulaic, and easy to spot. Examples of their "community organizing" posting style are quickly found on this thread. Remember, Obama trained and defended their kind in Chicago, and their training manual was written by the communist political terrorist Alinsky who, like Obama, also worked with Ayers. They don't debate, they crudely obstruct. Shun them, for now.

Obama is an exceptionally grave threat to national security, and must be stopped.

Congrats - This is what happens when you prop up bad business and force good business to compete against taxpayer backed bad business.

How is you hero/rabid racist KKK grand keagle Robert Byrd D-WV doing these days? or perhaps your murdering senator from Massacussetts? some role models you got in that filthy rotting corpse of a political party wouldn't you agree?

"moral bankruptcy" - Pot, meet kettle

Posted by: Rick D. on October 6, 2008 08:14 AM
68. dumbo, you REALLY need to back off the moron pills and address the issue.

In your little irrelevant vignette, you've again proven your delusion. A pharmacist is incapable of "dictating" anything. And for all the good it does you, your stamping your widdle footsie and jumping up and down screaming a falsehood doesn't make it any more true.

And, your continuing failure to address the simplest of all solutions, by letting the prescribing doctor dispense the medication, speaks for itself.

See, dumbo, you're not about solving the problem. You're just about sniveling for left wing politics.

"Yes! Ignore rational challenges to your extreme right-wing worldview. Go right ahead."

Since I have beaten your position to a pulp, the idea that you would consider your views "rational" just shows the self-delusion is a major component of the leftist fringer.

Further, given your proven delusion and intellectual cowardice... not to mention your support of that anti-American racist bigot, it's fairly clear that you wouldn't know "moral bankruptcy" if it bit you in the ass.

And heck, if we're willing to start talking about party positions from 100 years ago, why not go whole hog? I'm sure that bimetallism is a topic that Republicans might be able to get a few votes on.

And as far as a "rotting corpse" of a party... enjoy the wake for the Republican Party on November 5th. :)

@68: See, dumbo, you're not about solving the problem. You're just about sniveling for left wing politics.

You're not providing any discussion here of intellectual heft. Doctors are not pharmacists, and to think that they need to do the job of an entirely different profession to ensure that their patients are receiving the proper treatment is a bunch of crap.

Again, it goes back to the idea of who professionals should be working for. If you have problems as a licensed professional filling a written prescription from a doctor, you should be sanctioned or sacked. The role of the government in licensing professionals should extend to ensuring that they do not overextend their moral arrogance into the relationship between doctors and patients.

And as far as "beating my position into a pulp" or my "proven delusion and intellectual cowardice", you're the one that can't seem to make a reasonable intellectual argument to save your life. You're just a damn fool, who would gladly destroy this country if ever given a measure of power over it. I for one am glad that you're not in politics.

We cannot officially go to war unless Congress votes on it. Congress didn't declare Vietnam a "conflict" (aka a War) until the Gulf of Tonkin indecent. Prior to this we only had "Military Advisers" in the region (much like Russia did Pre-Georgian conflict this year).

The war ended the way it did, because Teddy Kennedy push to cut the finds to the South.

It ended because the people of the USA elected leaders to end the war. China, USSR, and Khmer Rouge would have been more than happy to keep the war and keep going for even longer, bankrupting America and killing thousands more American soldiers.

Now that I know, thanks to Ayres, Rezko, et al, we now know why the ONE has been silent.

With the Keating Five... he may have been cleared of wrongdoing by the Senate under what they could take action against, but aren't the details of the case important? Isn't it relevant that he exercised "poor judgment" in their opinion, especially since financial regulation is an issue today?

With his ex-wife... well... whether his ex-wife supports his run is irrelevant. I just question the idea that Republicans aren't foul hypocrites for bemoaning the decline of the family when supporting a guy that admits to cheating on his wife with a beer heiress that essentially launched his career with her money.

You're right about the Wasilla Sports Complex, that sill doesn't excuse her Nationalizing the local dairy company. Nor does it excuse the fact that a crazed loon like Ahmadinejad has answered more questions asked to him on American soil by the US press corps than Palin has.

Yes, McCain was cleared of all charges in the Keating 5 scandal. Yet McCain's Campaign Director Rick Davis and and Chief of Staff in his Senate office both served in lobbying positions this year at Freddie Mac while working for Senator McCain. Seems kind of like a conflict of interest here, one hand McCain attacks Freddie Mae for bad mortgages while his staff racks up large sums of money from the company in order to influence his opinion in the event that he became President.

I really could care less about his first wife, but divorcing your wife after coming home from war to shack up with a millionaire beer heiress does seem to against the Family Values ticket the GOP has been pushing for the last 25 years. Neither does the out-of-wedlock child that Palin's daughter will be having. Typical Hypocrisy party, do as we say not as we do.

Meanwhile the GOP is on the attack against a candidate who has been married to the same woman for 17 years, both Sen. Obama and his wife worked hard to bring themselves into the American Dream without handouts. Sen. Obama doesn't have a trust-fund baby wife to front him loads of money in order to get himself elected to Congress.

Sen. McCain practically bankrupted his campaign last year in the primary's much like Bush has practically bankrupted America. Meanwhile Sen. Obama has drawn in millions of dollars in small donations just by reaching out to the American people and his campaign has never been close to monetary collapse. I want to elect the guy who is responsible with his money and demonstrated that he/she can use it wisely. That's the kind of President I want running the US Economy.

If this isn't enough information about Senator Senile, Rolling Stone magazine has an excellent article about his history:

109. We have a crisis going on in this country and McCain is attacking Obama? Why doesn't he talk solutions? Why did he vote for the bail out with all those earmarks attached to it? I do not want to see that man win this election.

He needs a clue else he'll lose BIG!

War is all he thinks about and I can not believe he really knows all that much about the war hearing him call Putin the president of Germany..
Just too much for an old man anyway.

110. @104/5: And yet, idiots like you can't refute a single fact I listed above. You spew out the names of GOP bogeymen, but your comments don't go that far above simple fearmongering.

You disrespect everything that this country was founded upon. I'd tell you to love it or leave it, but true America-haters like yourself really don't have anywhere to go, I'd imagine. (Maybe China? Perhaps Shanghai Dan will put you up while you work Chinese slave labor to death...)

111. Hello Pirate,

Obama is a grave threat to our national security, and must be stopped.

Oh my, conservatives certainly are extremely stupid, gullible, and easily manipulated people.

I can see why the idiot Sarah Palin is so popular among you people. It also explains why you cling to your fundamentalist religions and guns.

112. Hello Michele,

David Matthews: What was "racially charged" about Hannity's report? I didn't see any of that.

God, why are conservatives so extremely stupid? God, you have got to help your children. Where's a witch doctor when we need one to cast the demon of stupidity out of these conservative minds?

Fox News has a long history of racism and bigotry. If you don't notice, Michele, that is only because you are a racist and a bigot.

Posted by: David Mathews on October 6, 2008 04:22 PM
113. McCain "he would point out every spending earmark" and then what? Show it to the new mayor of Wasilla or maybe the current governor of Alaska? Palin LOVES free money.

Pirate, it would be SO hilarious for McCain to make that little speech you suggest about how "dangerous" Obama is and then march off the stage. We could only be so lucky to have a debate that dramatic but sorry, you'll have to settle for Obama kicking McCain's uptight ass.

For every connection you have for Obama, there are probably two of each for McCain (he has been around a lot longer). The Reps should not play that game because Obama does have game and will fight back and hard. It's too late now and unless there is some big security problem (SOS Dick Cheney - help us Dick and manufacture us something!), Obama is going to win.

End of story.

How did he buy that property again??? How did he launch his political career?? Who's house did the fund raisers?? (Oh I'm sorry, every time one questions the integrity of the messiah, it's a racist ploy because some of his associates aren't wasps.
I brought up the fact the former Mrs. McCain endorses his run in thinking you and demo kid might for once make a connection but the bong hits have taken their toll.
So to spell it out, do you think ANY of Bill Clinton's women would vote for him let alone endorse him?

117. #112: Way to go, David Matthews. You failed to answer my question. It must be because you weren't able to, because if there was racism in Hannity's report you'd be able to immediately say what it was. As it is, you failed to answer the question directly. Your charges are phoney.

Racism isn't difficult to find, especially here at SoundPolitics, consider the above words of Ragnar-the-Idiot:

Can you say AFFIRMATIVE ACTION????

Ragnar's a stupid racist, as is Michele, and any other idiot who actually watches Fox News as if it were a reliable source of information rather than a 24/7 propaganda machine for uneducated, ignorant, gullible, easily manipulated people such as yourself.

129. Definition to be reminded of :
When we say we love America, we are not saying that we think the land is beautiful... tho it is.
We are saying that we love our CONSTITUTION !

Our form of government goes way back in history.
The Magna Carta, where the English forced the king to submit to law. The Hebrew Torah, IS the basis for all our moral law. All the thoughts and philosophies that Europe struggled to create throughout the reformation and the renaissance have birthed this great form of government.
Let's not throw it all away.

The daughters of the Puritans are not very good at submitting to tyranny.

130. [Must interject from hiatus]
I may be on hiatus from posting, but I have been reading the posts and comments. Yes, Eric, I am still giving page hits.

To make it short, this thread has gotten vile on both sides. I would recommend you all cool it. Chill out!

What is frightening to me is the nasty tone this campaign has taken. This article should raise chills on both sides (see near the bottom). To "whip" a crowd in such a frenzy that you have crowd members chanting "Kill Him" with regards to Obama, to me is over the line. I am fearful with the way this election has gotten that this may actually be carried out by some nut job.

Again, you all need to chill out.
[Now back to my hiatus]

131. tc,

Self-defense trumps all laws, and is always authorized when our country is being attacked. The ACORNholes have infiltrated this thread, and many others in the US, to engage in mortal archetype psychological warfare against the vast majority of us who revere the values that hold our nation together. Now, you can lead, follow, or get out of the way, but to tell us to "chill out" puts you in the enemy's camp. And if you are unfamiliar with that camp, then watch the video Shark just posted.

The watchmen on the walls must warn of danger and mobilize our defense or the blood is on their heads. Bloggers are today's watchmen. By far the largest threat facing our nation today is Obama, AND HIS ARMY (which includes the ACORNholes), who pose an extremely grave threat to our national security, and who must be stopped.

If *you* still want to "chill out," then stay on hiatus, and out of the way. If you want to defend our nation, then get busy.

132. Oh, my, now TC is worried that things have gotten nasty. TC, what was your reaction to all of the public death threats against Bush? All the T-shirts, posters, blogger comments advocating his assassination, and even a movie about it? Did you feel the need to tell people to chill out then?

Posted by: katomar on October 7, 2008 08:13 AM
133. @131: The ACORNholes have infiltrated this thread, and many others in the US, to engage in mortal archetype psychological warfare against the vast majority of us who revere the values that hold our nation together.

It's laughable that you revere "the values that hold our nation together". If it were up to you, this country would become a police state.

Face it. You're a radical extremist, no better than an American Taliban. The best defense of this country would be to ensure that crazed zealots like you never get to power.

Posted by: demo kid on October 7, 2008 10:44 AM
134. @130: I agree that this is unproductive. However, it's quite fun to see how contorted the logic gets from these conservative partisans. Textbook cases of cognitive dissonance from the American Taliban.

135. The video Shark posted is but the tip of Obama the communist revolutionary's iceberg. An enormous amount of preparation was required to get to the black cadre phase the video shows. That preparation was done through espionage against our nation...and you and me.

Obama, Ayers, Wright, ACORNholes, etc., are, and have been, engaged in espionage against the United States of America and are, ipso facto, considered illegal combatants, i.e., Outlaws, under the Law of Armed Conflict. As Outlaws they have no Constitutional rights and fall under the jurisdiction of military tribunals, e.g., at Gitmo. Traditionally, Outlaws have been spies, saboteurs, and espionage agents. The penalties have been indeterminate prison sentences or death.

Obama and his insurgents are grave threats to our national security, and they must be stopped by exercising our God-given right of self-defense.

Posted by: demo kid on October 7, 2008 01:16 PM
137. All the more reason why liberals should also be armed...

With WHAT??? Spitballs?

Supreme Commander Comrade o-bomb-a has repeatedly said NYET on guns.

Obama is proposing to make it a felony for a gun owner whose firearm was stolen from his residence which causes harm to another person if that weapon was not securely stored in that home.

He's proposing restricting gun purchases to one weapon a month and banning the sale of firearms at gun shows except for "antique" weapons. Obama is also proposing increasing the licensing fee to obtain a federal firearms license. ....

He's proposing that all federally licensed gun dealers sell firearms in a storefront and not from their homes while banning their business from being within five miles of a school or a park. He's also banning the sale of 'junk" handguns like the popular Saturday Night Specials."

35. Do you support legislation to ban the manufacture, sale and possession of
a. handguns?

While a complete ban on handguns is not politically practicable, I believe reasonable restrictions on the sale and possession of handguns are necessary to protect the public safety. In the Illinois Senate last year, I supported a package of bills to limit individual Illinoisans to purchasing one handgun a month; require all promoters and sellers at firearms shows to carry a state license; allow civil liability for death or injuries caused by handguns; and require FOID applicants to apply in person. I would support similar efforts at the federal level, including retaining the Brady Law.

35. Do you support state legislation ???

a. ban the manufacture, sale or possession of handguns?

Yes.

b. ban the manufacture, sale or possession of assault weapons?

Yes.

c. mandatory waiting periods with background checks for weapons?

Yes.

Posted by: Ragnar Danneskjold on October 7, 2008 02:11 PM
138. @137: There's a difference between reasonable regulation of weapons and outright bans... and there's a difference between party lines and individual opinions.

And nothing in that post suggests a ban on weapons, just measured regulation. It may chafe for folks that want to go grocery shopping while openly carrying a semiautomatic weapon, but that's tough.

140. Obama's Draconian Gun Control

Back in 1999, Obama called for a laundry list of gun control, including a 500 percent increase in taxes on firearms and ammunition. He called for bans of affordable handguns. He called for mandated "smart gun" technology. He demanded that FFLs not be allowed to maintain their business within five miles of a school or a park. In short, he wanted to regulate the Second Amendment out of existence.

You better start hoarding those spitballs.
Heil O-bomb-a!
