Is Anyone Impressed by Evergreen Progress?

Rumor has it I think the anti-Dino Rossi ads from Evergreen Progress are ineffective, and at times comically bad.

Joel Connelly's take, in the midst of a chuckle-worthy analysis of Christine Gregoire's official press shop:

Gregoire is the statewide Democratic elected official in America with the greatest chance of being ousted by the voters in November. Dino Rossi has better advertising and hasn't done badly in debate.

Hence, we've seen an avalanche of communications from the governor. She pleaded for more money from contributors before the latest reporting deadline, even as reports to the Public Disclosure Commission showed $10.254 million raised, with the Democrats' front group Evergreen Progress - or "Evergreen Regress" as party wags have nicknamed it - sitting on an additional $2.5 million. [empahsis added]

Heh.

1. At least two of Rossi's adds were developed very effectively hitting the point right on the head and allowing humor to lighten the race.

The first of these was the Gamling Macine add with the older woman, who pulls the handle and watches Gregoire wink back at her before she walks away and throws the cain at the machine.

The second hammering her on her lies about no new taxes, has a duck rolling on the ground complaining about not wanting an Income tax.

Her adds are just plain negative, with zero sense of humor.

On just adds alone I would vote for Rossi, but it goes way way further for me because of her complete disregard for the taxpayers in this state.

2. Just heard a new ad for Gregoire, where a woman calls a supposed "truth squad"-type agency and asks about Gregoire's tribe deals. The woman is told by the official-sounding man that Gregoire prevented expansion in gambling and it's Dino who's in the pockets of gambling establishments. What a liar. The ad never mentions that Gregoire and the state democrat party received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the tribes following the casino deal. I guess that was an 'inconvenient truth' for Gregoire.
The woman also asks if the state has a deficit and is told "no." Well gee, I guess that settles it--surely this truth squad guy knows better than officials whose job it is to forecast this stuff.

Gregoire is again misleading the people. She should be voted out. You'll get your chance to do that, Washington. See ya at the ballot box.

3. If Gregoire ran the state as well as she debated, the state would be much better off.

Sadly her execution and management has been solidly in line with her prior experience of missing a filing deadline and costing taxpayers millions (and billions while Governor)... and then laying the blame somewhere else.

Fool the voters once, shame on you, fool the voters twice, well don't expect the commute to go any faster.

Seriously- has ANYONE (other than our troll friends) met anyone who voted for Rossi in 2004 that is now going to vote for Gregoire?

I've met dozens who either didn't vote in 2004 or voted for Gregoire who are totally in the Rossi camp. She's totally lost support from the bluedog crowd- and democrats driving 25MPH on the innerstate.

4. Dear Queen Christine:
What goes around comes around. Vote for the people's choice, Dino Rossi !

5. With Gregoire, it's going to be like OJ. The first time he got away with murder. But this time, the law evened the score.

6. I'm so sad that Mitt Romney didn't win the nomination. He'd be thrashing Obama right about now in the polls I suspect... Why did McCain beat him?

7. Jeff B - are you a believer in karmic destiny?

8. No. But sometimes, what goes around does come around. And when it does happen, it's nice. If Karma were real, there would be a whole lot more a-holes dropping like flies.
