Posted by: Tracy on September 11, 2008 08:11 PMIt's begining to seem that the only "stars" whose movies I can support are already long dead.
Do these nitwits not realize that they are hurting their own careers with their big mouths? Yes, we all have freedom of speech... but it seems to me that when one is selling something as arbitrary as oneself, the best course of action is of mystery and under the radar.
Sorry Matty, unless you died more than a few years ago, you're on the boycott list... which is MY freedom.
Many of you think that course of action is inconsequential, but it's not. EVERY weekday I participate in a YOUGov poll and every single day they have a list of 'currently in the news' people. They present the list TWICE, asking who on the list I have a positive impression of and who I have a negative impression of. I would be willing to bet Matty will be on a list this week.
Posted by: Ragnar Danneskjold on September 11, 2008 08:45 PMActually, the movie I'm looking forward to is the spoof of Michael Moore - "An American Carol" (side note, I wasn't aware that Kelsey Grammar was a Republican).
Posted by: Mike H on September 11, 2008 09:30 PMFORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska, Sept. 11 -- Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans."
The idea that the Iraqi government under Saddam Hussein helped al-Qaeda plan the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, a view once promoted by Bush administration officials, has since been rejected even by the president himself. But it is widely agreed that militants allied with al-Qaeda have taken root in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion.
Posted by: Micajah on September 11, 2008 09:57 PMLet's see.....a guy who goes to a racially divisive hate-spewing, anti-american church and has radical socialist militant friends and doesn't have proper instincts for international events (Note: I didn't say he doesn't have opinions; they just don't jive well with reality)
or...
a governor who loves this country and believes in defending it and goes to a church that DOESN'T spew anti-american rantings, and who wouldn't make up some wierd you're-both-bad moral equivalence in, say, the Russia-Georgia problem.
That one's easy for me.
Posted by: Michele on September 11, 2008 10:26 PMMatt Damon is a horse's ass.
And so is Michael Moore. O'Reilly does a cameo in the movie, and it's pretty funny. He had it on "The Factor" a couple of weeks ago. I'll definitely rent the movie when it comes out. The left, as is usual, will no doubt scream about it if the movie does well.
That's the problem with the left: criticism of the right is OK, but anything that is remotely critical of them and their ideology is bad and should be censored out of existence. Hyporits!

Posted by: PC on September 12, 2008 01:27 AMIt's amazing the intellectual insight one can receive from some dolt that has gone to acting classes and/or drama school. All
Posted by: Rick D. on September 12, 2008 09:18 AMI'm such a big Matt Damon fan and I think his best acting job ever was in Team America, World Police...he's my hero...
Posted by: Poindexter P. Parkenfarker on September 12, 2008 09:24 AMMatt Damon, the private school educated, former rich kid turned actor, turned Harvard drop-out, turned major Hollywood liberal celebrity, turned intellectual snob, is (along with the rest of the far-left intelligentsia) looking down at his nose at the small town, public school educated Sarah Palin and the rest of the unwashed masses who might -- to the horror of the celebrity Obama supporters -- actually decide to support one of their own.
That's right Matty, talk down to the unwashed masses... you know, the ones you hope will buy tickets to your movies.
Count me out, Matty.
On a more serious note, check out this video, Dear Mr. Obama, if you haven't already done so:

Matt Damon is a pile of dooky compared to the courage, conviction, and strength of character of this young man.
