2. At least their suits fit....whereas Horsey's candidate can't even fill his out.

3. I just heard from a friend of mine who retired year's ago and who is related to Sarah. [i.e. his brother is the father of Todd, Sarah's husband].
He tell's me that one thing Sarah won't be is: pushed around; says she has reached out to both sides of the isle in Ak to find what she feels is the best talent available to help the State...ergo the Country. He (and family) was very surprised when she was picked and is obviously very proud of her. He lives in Longview, WA and recently saw Sarah at a family gathering in Vancouver, WA. A small world indeed. :)

4. I've been hearing that passport line for a couple of days now. Oh no, Sarah is not "sufficiently nuanced" to conduct foreign policy.

Heh, heh. The left is not "sufficiently nuanced" enough to understand that there is an entire country outside their snooty urban enclaves. All 57 states of it.

5. The more they attack, the more it helps. Way to go Horsey.

6. Horsey is a leftist moron who is the most impressed about Horsey.

I'm sure after M/P wipe the floor with Empty Suit/Stuffed Shirt, he'll have all kinds of idiotic pictures to draw... if his head doesn't explode first.

Hey... maybe we can get him to join up with the "I'm moving overseas if the GOP wins the presidency" crowd?

7. Horsey-ass continues to drive more nails into the Pravda-Izvestia (P-I) coffin. And the echo chamber leftism of the Seattle media does indeed resonate its loudest in the empty cavity of its collective head.

8. Eric,
That is great. Too bad, the responders so far can't lighten up a bit. Humor is humor. What's that matter, is there too much truth in the comic?

It seems like conservatives what to make Palin herself off-limits. If you are in the public eye, you need to have a thick skin and put up with the humor. The other night, I watched Jay Leno's monologue. It seemed as if any jokes about politicians (both sides) were fair, except when it came to Palin. Jay actually got booed on his Palin jokes. McCain jokes, Obama jokes, and especially Bush jokes were fine. China jokes were great, but God forbid any humor is made about Palin. Give me a break.

Posted by: tc on September 9, 2008 07:36 AM
9. Sarah Palin jokes are okay, but Dori played a sick Conan O'Brien joke from the weekend regarding the daughter and her child. Very, very sick.

So, can the Palin jokes for awhile. I haven't heard too many Obama jokes, tc. How come?

tc, I found the cartoon hilarious.

Posted by: swatter on September 9, 2008 07:45 AM
10. We conservatives know that we are never "off limits".

It goes with the territory. One doesn't dare question Obama's past, but Sarah has been fair game from day 1.

Speaking of lightening up tc, do you remember the outcry just a few weeks ago over a certain New Yorker cover? I'm sure you do.

Posted by: Bill Cruchon on September 9, 2008 07:46 AM
11. The Dems continue to make a huge mistake.
No matter how they spin it, Bush isn't running and yet they continue to run against him. McCain isn't Bush and its foolish to try and convince people that he is. Americans aren't that gullible.
It will cost them the election. And I'm OK with that!!!

Posted by: Diogenes on September 9, 2008 07:51 AM
12. @ 8, I'll illustrate for you what is wrong with what what passes for humor that eminates from that part of the POS wing of the Democrat Party that is home to their buffoonish impression of a Messiah. The stinking, filthy, worthless trash on DU posted the Palin's youngest son "Trig" for sale this morning on ebay along with the most vile, hateful description of a human being who has done no harm to anyone in his entire life.

I'll tell you what, if I were any member of the Palin family, and I found out just exactly who was responsible, I would make it my life's work to personlly hunt them down and by the time I got through with them they would wish that their own moma had aborted them.

15. Obama would make a good Mini Me for Bill Clinton, the nation's first black president.

It's now clear that Sarah is being elected, and she will take McCain with her to the White House. All the usual campaign issues are quickly disappearing: The people (me included) want Sarah, they can't get enough of her, her story, and her wise kindness. Irony of ironies -- she is the one who is giving the nation hope because of her goodness. Compared to her, Obama and his zombies are hollow obscenities.

Let the secular left try to discredit her with religious issues. That attempy will also backfire on them and Sarah will emerge as our country's Joan of Arc, resulting in spiritual revival, e.g., goodness returning to government and society. What joy, what hope!

Posted by: The Pirate on September 9, 2008 08:17 AM
16. Horsey is a leftist moron who is the most impressed about Horsey.

That's probably the most perceptive thing I've ever heard in regards to Horsey.

I once told a friend of mine "Horsey is occasionally insightful, sometimes dreadful, but mostly just impressed with his own cleverness. But he's not really that clever."

Posted by: Cliff on September 9, 2008 08:33 AM
17. TC,

So we should lighten up, yet anything of this nature shows up with Obama as the topic and you guys go crazy.

Sensible.

Posted by: Chris on September 9, 2008 08:34 AM
18. tc,
BS. Palin has made herself completely accessible in a two day open ended interview with Gibson. Obama has never done that, nor Biden. Off limits is what the left wants to make of open and objective journalism.

Posted by: Jeff B. on September 9, 2008 08:45 AM
19. Didn't Rove say that if more than 10% of the campaign for the left were based on Bush- they'd start tanking.

It's reached about 60% Bush Bashing, 35% McCain Palin Bashing, 5% substance.

Speaking of drill, drill, drill. Has Congress named anymore post offices since they got together yesterday?

Posted by: Andy on September 9, 2008 08:50 AM
20. That was the whole idea of the Obama campaign. A youthful African American candidate who spoke endlessly of "hope and change" without any specifics to swooning stadiums full of the left educated, brainwashed YouTube generation. But dare to question or criticize him and you violate the rules of political correctness.

Sarah enjoys no such protection. She is everything liberals detest, a self-made successful conservative woman. A female Clarence Thomas, and ultimately their worst nightmare.

Is that silly cartoon effective outside the liberal bubble? I think not.

I am really enjoying all of this. Democrats are absolutely losing it, and the more they try to damage Sarah the worse it gets for them.

Delicious.

Posted by: Crusader on September 9, 2008 09:24 AM
22. It should be noted that from the beginning Obama (and Biden) have stated that Palin's family was off-limits. When they attack McCain or Palin, it is on their public positions, or lack of positions on the issues. Neither has attacked Palin's family, as McCain's Campaign staff insinuated last week. In fact, Biden, himself, called the press out on sexism as far as coverage of Palin.

As for myself, whenever I respond here in defense of Barack, it is where others here stereotype him, when they misstate his position, or repeat right-wing smears that have repeatedly disproven. I did the same for McCain during the primaries. Remember, I was looking forward to a McCain-Obama matchup, because I believed John McCain last spring when he stated that he wanted the campaign about the issues. I welcomed a serious debate on where each stands and whose approach would be best for the future of our country. I felt Obama could go toe-to-toe with McCain on any issue, including Iraq. This is why it is so unfortunate that the Republican Convention and so far post convention, and McCain's own campaign chair, have made this race into one about personality and biographies. Why are they so afraid to talk about the issues? It is a question, those here that support McCain, should be asking themselves. If you compare it, locally, to the governor's race, Rossi is attempting to address the issues. I haven't heard much from CG lately, nor have I seen many commercials from her. This is a big mistake, if she thinks she can glide to victory. The country and locally are in the mood for change, irrespective of party.

23. Once in a blue moon Horsey cuts both ways. This is a great example of the majority of his work though. Also an example of what many of our grandparents said when passing on some age old wisdom: insults are a bad substitute for substance.
In thinknig about it, it's obvious slavery kid, cato and factless never listened to their grandparents.

Posted by: PC on September 9, 2008 09:40 AM
24. This is how many Horsey cartoons slamming Palin? In how many days? I recall at least five off the top of my head.

But that's fine. Keep it up. Obama/Biden has lost 20 points with females since Palin's been on the scene. 20. Points.

Don't stop.

Posted by: jimg on September 9, 2008 09:57 AM
25. Horsey is a really great cartoonist. Somebody should tell him he'd make a lot more money over at the American Spectator if he'd just drop the left wing bias.
By the looks of the current state of the print media, he'd better get a resume ready anyway...

Posted by: scott on September 9, 2008 10:07 AM
26. tc says, "It should be noted that from the beginning Obama (and Biden) have stated that Palin's family was off-limits."

Oh please, are you that naive? I thought leftists were more "nuanced".

Maybe you can explain the phalanx of lawyers and media types that have descended on Anchorage, Juneau, and Sarah's hometown of Wasilla.

Posted by: Bill Cruchon on September 9, 2008 10:07 AM
27. It's fantastic to see Sarah, the conservative anti-virus, processing through the infected national hard drive. We will reboot the system in the general election and the anti-virus cleaning will become permanent, then we can hunt down the hackers.

See the DEMO BABY

Posted by: John Bailo on September 9, 2008 10:19 AM
29. I think it's possible Sarah may attract another demographic group: liberal men.

I can't imagine what it must be like to date yoga obsessed liberal women. You know, the ones you'll see today all around Seattle wearing hats the size of large pizzas because they fear the sun. Even liberal guys must have nightmares about growing old with these women, who might turn into pant-suited, pinch-faced Hillary clones.

Liberal guys probably secretly long for a woman like Sarah...we'll at least if they aren't too far gone. They won't tell pollsters that they'd vote for the Republican ticket. I suspect however that a lot of them will.

Posted by: Bill Cruchon on September 9, 2008 10:33 AM
30. This is why it is so unfortunate that the Republican Convention and so far post convention, and McCain's own campaign chair, have made this race into one about personality and biographies.

Yah, we are the ones who are running around with our #1 issue being "McCain is Bush's Third Term!"

Other then "Change" and "Hope", this is all Obama's got.

Posted by: Cliff on September 9, 2008 10:36 AM
31. "Neither has attacked Palin's family, as McCain's Campaign staff insinuated last week."

Actually Biden did so today by insinuating Palin should be for stem cell research because of her sons down syndrome. In her convention speech, Palin said she'd be a voice for parents with children with special needs, noting her newborn son, Trig, who has Down's Syndrome.
Biden spewed:
"I hear all this talk about how the Republicans are going to work in dealing with parents who have ... the joy and the difficulty of raising a child who has a developmental disability," said Biden, ... "Well guess what folks? If you care about it, why don't you support stem cell research?"

"I welcomed a serious debate on where each stands and whose approach would be best for the future of our country. I felt Obama could go toe-to-toe with McCain on any issue, including Iraq."

...unfortunately, your candidate isn't willing to do so. He refused to debate McCain in town hall venues where it would be unscripted and actually address real issues. Your toe-to-toe comparison is in direct conflict with reality. Obama has cowered away from anything that is issue based and instead relies on demonizing GW Bush and Karl Rove...pathetic.

"McCain's own campaign chair, have made this race into one about personality and biographies."

Honestly tc, I think you're losing it. Obama's entire appeal has been a cult of personality and generalities (Hope,Change) empty rhetoric that is supposed to supplant a paper thin resume and any kind of in depth delving into his policies. This guy is a walking, talking hologram.

Posted by: Rick D. on September 9, 2008 10:39 AM
32. Bill @ 29: My fairly conservative wife occasionally does yoga, and I must say, good sir, it's excellent for flexibility. I wouldn't knock it till your significant other tries it :)

Posted by: Andrew Brown on September 9, 2008 11:48 AM
33. Well, tc, what if I told you the mouth that keeps on giving went to a fundraiser and told the audience that Barry is so much smarter than McCain because he knows enough to pick a good running mate.

tc, too bad you didn't get your wish. Last spring, I was hoping Obama got vetted since at that time he hadn't passed the smell test. He still hasn't.

Posted by: swatter on September 9, 2008 12:21 PM
34. Horsey is a partisan Democrat, and this is the typically crude, unimaginative, not very clever thing he does when he feels it's time to ride in and take down a Republican candidate who looks like a threat to his crowd. Excuse me while I stifle a yawn. Nobody will be persuaded by this cartoon who isn't already a solid Obama voter. It just underlines the P-I's irrelevance.

#10 Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska's Political Establishment Upside Down
#30 The Case Against Barack Obama
#36 Fleeced
#42 The Audacity of Hope
#93 Dreams from My Father

On your first point, I will take the Pudge line of defense. (1) You need to provide the source of your quote, (2) By what you state Biden's quote is, Biden didn't attack the family but Republican policy, and (3) of course, if all that fails to convince you, the standard Pudge response: You are lying.

On your second point, give me a break. Obama is going to debate McCain. McCain was trying to be all showmanship on this issue. Obama stated flat out that he wanted to spend the time directly talking to the people, which he did. He had plenty of town halls prior to the convention and plenty afterward. Irregardless of this fact, McCain threw the idea out there, but there was no meat. I mean if he was serious, he would also have to provide the ground rules as to how to make the town meetings fair. Instead, the first one, he had stacked with his constituents.

Aaaahaaa! That's what the H stands for in Barack H. Obama!! Shouldn't the H be on his forehead?

41. Horsey--legal graffitti

good for him; hope he gets rich in this left-hated capitalist society he's free to pizz & moan about--try this in China or Venezuela or any host of "Progressive" African regimes;

freedom of speech is not always pleasant to all; but taken for granted by many; hope Horsey is not one of the latter; wonder what his 9-11 cartoon will be? ha-ha or reverence; that's the test;

42. @ 39 tc ~ "(1)On your first point, I will take the Pudge line of defense. You need to provide the source of your quote"

I'm not pudge, but if you want me to state the obvious place to look for Biden's statement, try CNN webage for starters. oh, and it's the 6th paragraph down.

as for (2), only an idiot wouldn't take that as a shot at Palin for her mentioning her advocacy for special needs children at the RNC convention. Biden took the low blow express, just like most of his life in the Senate. My opinion of him hasn't changed much though, I've known he was a classless boor for years now. Did you know his lobbyist son and brother are both named in 2 ongoing lawsuits against them for fraud? Yeah, neither has the press since they don't print anything negative about the Freshman senator or his Delaware drunkard running mate. You are extremely naive if you think these two lovers of pork are going to reform wasteful government spending.

As for the town hall meetings that Obama has been afraid to engage in, why is he then going on the campaign trail saying "i'll debate John McCain anytime anywhere on any issue" and then turning down invitations from McCain to join him in these appearances? Is he afraid to speak to people without a teleprompter or scripted presentation ? I thought this guy was quick on his feet and ready to engage in the issues American's cared about...evidently not. Why not answer some questions that they have? My guess is, he still doesn't know where or what the Hanford site is and doesn't want to look like a clueless ass when attempting to answer questions from the average American voter.

The rose is losing its bloom..

43. Ya notice how whieny the Republicans are this time around. Waaaaah!!!!

Sorry, the American people reject the fialed policy of the past.

Deal or change. Whining like a little child won't help. Palin is more of the same. She's in hiding for a reason. Think. Don't whine.

Posted by: NoneYa on September 10, 2008 04:54 PM
44. "Think. Don't whine."

You may want to give your candidate that advice. He was out yesterday morning whining that his "lipstick" comment the day before was a Republican ploy. When his whining stopped, it just provided another days coverage for the story..if not for Joe Biden saying "hillary would have been a better choice" and asking a wheelchair bound man to "Stand up Chuck". Oops
