Hockey Mom

The four things I write most about are politics, sports, music, and computers. This is about politics, sports, and music. And I am writing it on a computer.

One of my favorite bands is The Zambonis. They sing about hockey, and pretty much nothing else.

In honor of Sarah Palin and her nomination to the office of Vice President, I give you one of my favorite Zambonis songs, Hockey Mom, and my cover of it.

Pudge: I was rooting for Orr and Esposito when you were not even a glint in your father's eye :). 1970 is still my favorite year, along with 2004 (can't only be focused on hockey).

And, I have to admit, I liked your song, even if I don't like your politics. My lame attempt at humor was perhaps just that, lame.

6. I was alive, though not yet born, while the Bruins were still Stanley Cup champs. I grew up with the Bruins on WSBK, with Fred Cusick in the booth. I snuck into sports bars in California to watch the Bruins in '88 and '90.

The Zambonis also have a song called, "To Bleed Black And Gold" about the Bruins, though many of the players mentioned are now gone ... high hopes for Bergie this year.

I'd give up some or all Patriots championships for Bruins championships. Not Sox, though.

7. Another note pudge. Palin drew 37.2 million viewers just 1.1. million less then Messiah. Not bad for a political novice, eh? Imagine what she'll be in 1 month.
