Laugh Line of the Week

Ok, last week really, but here is primo netrooter Matt Stoller, in town to campaign for Darcy Burner, describing our local press corps:

[Reichert's] name recognition and respect in the district, and the incredibly nasty and conservative media in Seattle, are significant advantages, so it's not a walk for Darcy. [emphasis added]

Dude.

Well, our local politics is similar to our media: compared many other parts of the country we play softball - with a hefty dose of whine to go with anything approaching high cheese.

Nasty? Not exactly.

And as for "conservative," well, maybe if the New York Times or Pravda is your benchmark.

Oh, and Stoller's post confirms they're still angry about the job interview ad:

Heh.

1. After Obama's VERY revealing gaffe--when at Saddleback he started to denounce Justice Clarence Thomas as "inexp--" before he caught himself as he realized that severe lack of experience or accomplishment while in office was one of his very worst faults as a candidate, I submit that this much of this ad could be used against Barack Obama, as well.

2. s/b "I submit that much of this ad..."

3. All Richert needs do is to treat her the way McCain has treated The Messiah. I heard a clip today and McCain flat out punked The Chosen One by stating that although Senator Obama is looking for me to take back where I questioned his patriotism...I have never questioned his patriotism, I do however question his judgment ......

This Obama clown is outa' his league. I wouldn't be surprised if little Barry isn't once again chain smoking Camels, in fact by the time this is over he may take up smoking crack! He isn't going to be able to rely on his sycophantic buddies in the msm to cover his rear either - those days are long over. Just ask The Breck Girl how over they are if you don't wanna' take my word for it.

4. The fact that anyone would call Seattle media "conservative" really shows how out of touch the left is with reality in this town.

I travel a lot to just about every other part of the country, and with the possible exception of San Francisco, I can't think of a more left wing oriented group of spinnermeisters and apologists than the Seattle newsmedia.

5. Whenever the media does not do exactly the bidding of the left, it gets labeled as conservative. If they whine, you know it is effective. Keep 'em coming Rossi and Reichert.

6. With his "conservative Seattle media" comment, Stoller shows he has no clue whatsoever.

8. "In 2006, [Reichert] held off Darcy with an ad that portrayed her as an inexperienced and ditzy young woman reaching above her pay grade." ~ Ben Stoller

Actually, it was Darcy Burner speaking that had many coming away with that impression of her. After hearing her on Dave Ross a few weeks ago, sadly, my opinion of her hasn't changed much.

9. Need video proof that Darcy's ditzy? Then visit this video created by the WSRP on their website.

...Inexperienced? [X]
...Ditzy? [X]
...Reaching above her pay grade? [X]

10. That ad was sheer genius and probably had a hand in Reichert's win in 2006. Watching it again, I don't see why it doesn't hold true for Burner now, two years later. She's still just as inexperienced and if anything is more likely to get her marching orders from the democrat party instead of the people of the 8th CD.

11. I guess that Stoller just doesn't understand that most people don't relate to being a multi-millionaire and retired before you are 40 with a husband who is a stay at home dad. It a nice fantasy life, but a tough sell for "Fighting for the little guy" image she likes to portray. She alwasy likes to say she went to Harvard, but her most recent graduation is her advanced degree in socialism from Camp Wellstone. Now that there is a plan in the works for an Iraq draw down and withdrawl, what is she running on again? Oh yeah, higher taxes and more "investment" in growing government.

12. Give poor Darcy a break. Now that her home is a pile of cinders, why should she give a damn about property tax hikes?

13. Poor dumb darcy... she re-defines the word vacuous.

Oh and a note to her campaign... dumb darcy, I live in your district and my household never EVER received your fancy-dancy 'womens' brochure I've heard bandied about. Perhaps you might define for us which women, which households, which voters are valuble to you...and which are clearly not.

14. That add is right up there with Rossi's slot machine spot where three Gregoire's appear on the machine and a final wink by her at the end.

Alot more fun then the crap Gregoire and her den of thieves are slapping out.

15. Seattle media is conservative like Obama is conservative.

16. A fantastic video.
I love Gen Burner's comment that military success is completely irrelevant. You Go Girl....Really, just Go.
Let's hope you continue to hijack the Dem slot to continuously run against Reichart for the next ten years. You can become the next Harold Stassen.
If we can only get Ned Lamont to run again...
