Stealing One From Your Opponent
Attorney General Rob McKenna's campaign sends out news that the Pierce County Deputies Guild has endorsed him over his competitor, Pierce County Executive John Ladenburg. Besides the obvious rhetorical benefit of an endorsement in the heart of an opponent's expected base of support, there is the general issue that McKenna keeps racking up major endorsements in this race.
At some point, there's a reason for that.

1. Were he a candidate for Governor I would have some very serious pondering to do. :)
2. McKenna would be a good guy to dislodge Murray or Cantwell if we want to go there.
3. Politically, Ladenburg should have run for the Democrat's nomination in the 8th CD. He'd have had a much better chance and, all his faults considered, he is a much better candidate than the Democrat's current frontrunner.
4. McKenna is a slimeball. He has no interest in eliminating corruption in Oympia. He claims that the separation of powers doctrine bars the prosecution of judges who commit crimes.
Not saying his Democratic opponent is any better; just that McKenna is as corrupt as any other politician. He is as dishonest and corrupt as Gregoire.
5. Don Ward, I would like to see good candidates on both sides of the slate. I would feel better when my guy loses to a better candidate.

Don't you have another courtroom to get thrown out of?
7. It's not surprising that John L is losing at endorsements from the law enforcement agencies. They have had more experience with his waffling and not surprisingly know how little he supports them. Turn about is very fair play. Even if you don't like McKenna- trust me, as a resident living under the Ladenburg reign here in PC, the only thing worse than having his wife win her push to end term limits is him getting in as AG.
9. Alex: Since you like links- here's some below that shows insights into a future under John L's "integrity" when considering him for AG. There is an excellent summation of why locally he's despised in the second link.

11. Hello, nice site :)
12. Alex- I appreciate ( and read) the link but I can tell you- Ladenburg is 100 times worse.
While you may feel McKenna "sells out" to illegals- Ladenburg "sells out" to business and personal agendas...always at the price to property owners and tax payers. Any Ladenburg "deal" is generally a boon for anyone in the "good ol' boys " club here. And I guarentee if he gets AG he'll run for Gov.. and thats a scary thought. Whether you fully support McKenna or not, John L is the worst threat facing all our counties.
