Which reminded me of a video I put up last year, a cover of "Fireworks" from Schoolhouse Rock:

[NB: I know that, in fact, it was Robert Livingston, not Philip Livingston, who was on the committee to draft the Declaration of Independence. Schoolhouse Rock got it wrong, and when I copied them, so did I.]

"...That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government,..."
I believe that the current government, which should have been the greatest defender of our equal, individual rights to life, liberty and property, has now become the biggest threat to those rights.
I think that it is time for a peaceful revolution, in the form of non-cooperation with government.
I think that this is what justice and the Declaration call for.
But to most of the people, the Fourth of July is just a day for picnics and fireworks.
And in Edmonds, not even fireworks.

all make Progressives, Socialists, Marxists, Collectivists, Nutrooters, etc. squirm with frustration, resentment and anxiety.
