Big Endorsement for McKenna

AG Rob McKenna has secured the backing of the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs (WACOPS). This on the heels of also landing the endorsement of the Seattle Firefighters.

The issue isn't necessarily simply winning the endorsements themselves. It's that McKenna's challenger, Pierce County Executive John Ladenburg, isn't getting them. Those are the kind of endorsements he should be landing - especially as a Democrat in the Evergreen State - if he wants to build critical mass to topple a sitting Attorney General.

1. Rob McKenna is one of the few R's I pulled the lever for last time around. I will happily pull it again in his favor this fall, absent any major gaff.

If the Republican Party want more influence in Washington State politics, start putting more folks like this up for election. Avoid mindless ideologues like Crasswell/Carlson/Rossi. They only hurt your cause.

2. You want to explain, Unkl Witz, how nominating Dino Rossi hurt our cause in 2004? He outpulled the Republican presidential candidate (unlike Christine Gregoire, who ran far behing the Democratic candidate), and many of us will go to our graves believing he won the election. We do so cherish, though, the advice of Democrats on what we Republicans should be doing, because we know you have our best interests in mind.

3. Eric, do you take endorsements seriously? Are you influenced by them? We don't come to this blog to read bullshit. Get serious.

4. Have WAcops ever endorsed a non-incumbent? Sounds a bit odd considering John Ladenburg wrote the nation's first sex predator civil commitment law as well as the nation's first sex predator notification law.

Hard to take this seriously.

5. Hey Stu:

You can take my advice or leave it. I couldn't possible care less. If you want to think Dino is going to suck in a lot of bi-partisan votes because of "whatever", feel free. My prediction is that he'll lose again, just like last time.

It's not because that's the outcome I want, but because it's the outcome I think is most likely.

I'm sure you "cherish" the advice of Unkl Witz just like the Dem's cherish the advice of Karl Rove and Billy Kristol. Both sides know they certainly don't have the advisee's best interests in mind.

Just between you and me, I am far more concerned about the national economy and the war in Iraq than about who is governor in this state.

6. I'm not aware, Unkl Witz, that Karl Rove spends a lot of time advising Democrats. And if you're indifferent as to whether we take your advice or leave it, why bother posting?

"Just between you and me, I am far more concerned about the national economy and the war in Iraq than about who is governor in this state."

Well, aren't you a noble fellow. What a high-minded declaration.

7. Someone like "Unkl Witz" likes McKenna?, what does that tell you about ol Rob? Yet another good reason for any self respecting conservative NOT to vote for that rino.

8. Unkl Witz: You're a guttless wonder! You probably pull the lever for every (D) that crawls along the ground, and you have the gall to complain. Your part of the problem so if you're used to sitting in human fecal matter you probably don't smell the stink either. So get a life pal. Rob McKenna is a (D) light, that's why you like him. Since Dino is a conservative you're hate gene oozes to the surface while your socialist tendancy takes precedence. Oh by the way ||TAKE A SHOWER|| some people are repulsed by you.

You sound a little bitter True. I understand things are just not going your way these days, but you don't have to take it quite so hard.

10. Unc, this time it was an attack against you that went over the line. I hope you stay.

11. Swat:

Thanks! I appreciate the comment. It would be best for us all to stop the name calling (yep, I've done my share of it) and talk about the issues. We all have a lot more in common than than we have divisive issues.

Cuz, we're all fellow citizens of the greatest country on "God's green earth". I truly believe that.
