Unelectable?

a tribute to the Democratic nominee-to-be from a disappointed Hillary fan. (and with my apologies to Nat and Natalie Cole)

1. ..and let's not forget about Obama's church railing against "middle-classness". And who could forget Michelle Obama's comments about this country being "just downright mean" and that she's not proud of it. America doesn't need that mindset in the whitehouse.

7. The lock step religious nature of collectivism is a great feature for those of us who want to assure its defeat.

Take for instance the super delegates that have aligned behind Obama because of the collective idol worship of the left.

It's going to be awfully entertaining when the real vote is tallied in November. Because like so many times before, the MSM will be aghast that all of their predictions were wrong. How can it be that the purveyors of approved thought were wrong? How can it be that Hope and Change are not desirable?

Well, there are millions of American who have silently recorded the shameful socialist history and affiliations of Barack Obama. The guy actually makes Bill and Hillary look quite conservative. And when you then top that off with the in-your-face black liberation theology affiliation that effectively indicts all of white America as racist, regardless of all of our efforts to put the horrors of our past (and largely the Democrat Party) behind us, it all adds up to someone who truly is unelectable.

Of course the Democrats are going to rally behind their man, and many of the Progressives are alight with Che Resurrection glee and hypnotized by the messianic rallies. But the real tests have not even begun. America is not going to tolerate a Marxist with a mentors like William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.

And this will be the quiet truth held in the hearts of the majority until they pull the lever for McCain in November. Because criticizing Obama makes one a racist, so why bother. Just keep quiet, bide time, do what has to be done in November.

Hey, good to see a post from Stefan!

8. And @6, FDR was 63 when his life was cut short largely from his earlier bout with Polio, and Reagan served in to his 70s. And even Castro, one of the heroes of the left, has just stepped down at 81. Or what about HIllary's age? Had she won the nomination, would that have been a problem for the left?

So what's the problem with McCain? He's not a Democrat and they can't come up with substantive arguments, so they just attack his age.

I'll take "too old" over "too green and naive" any day!

13. @ #7 Jeff B. perceptively notes what I believe will be a deciding factor for large numbers of voters outside far-left moonbat centers like San Francisco and Seattle:

''America is not going to tolerate a Marxist with a mentors like William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright. And this will be the quiet truth held in the hearts of the majority until they pull the lever for McCain in November.''

As has been noted on various threads, it is the total collective weight of Obama's long-time far-left associations and world-view that will make him unacceptable to not just (R)s but also a large segment of (I)s and even some Reagan (D)s. The fact that Obama is black has little or nothing to do with it for most voters (General Colin Powell would IMO have won by a considerably bigger margin than President Bush in 2000 if he had be the (R) candidate).

In any case: This video does a good job of running thru the rogue's gallery; or at least most of it: Wright, Ayers, Rezko, Farrakhan, Sharpton, et. al.

SIDEBAR: Even though Rezko is now a convicted felon, that whole story ain't necessarily over: It will be interesting to see who if anyone the Feds might still be able to ''flip'' by offering to go easy on them.

And look again at the electoral results maps for 2000 and 2004; especially the 2004 results; at (for example):

2000 EC Results

2004 EC-Results

All Senator McCain has to do is hold OH or win MI, and then even if Obama should win a couple small states that went for Bush in 2004 McCain will still squeak out a win in the EC. I'll take 270 to 268 in the EC if I have too (but certainly hope it won't be quite that close).

And remember that many states where Obama did well in the (D) caucuses are much more conservative in the general. My old home state of ND, for example: Obama won the caucuses, but I will guarantee y'all that the farmers and ranchers of ND will NOT pull the lever for him in the general.

14. McCain is definitely NOT too old. Ronald Reagan was in his 70's for both of his terms and managed to be in many people's opinions one of the greatest presidents of the 20th century.
And btw, I also reject the notion that Obama is too young to be president. His real problem is that he's just too inexperienced and way too creepily radical leftist to be president of the greatest country in the world.
And also btw, Hillary would NOT be too old to run in the future for prez. I'm no Hillary fan but to say she would be too old to run again later on is pure B.S. People make too much of the age thing, all the way around.
Frankly, McCain is far more sane on just about every issue than Obama is. By far.

16. I would not say that he is unelectable. On paper, he should be - however he has a big advantage in that the MSM is working overtime to get him elected. However, I believe that there is something that has not occurred yet that will have a significant affect on the outcome.

There are some basic ways that he can be defeated, but his opponent will have to appeal more to the electorate than Obama. So far McCain's presentations have not been that dynamic and that does not help his cause on the surface. Apparently, the electorate (based on the polls) is not that concerned whether Sen. Obama champions socialist policies or not - they are more enamered with his theme of change and bringing the people together, just like collectivist governments would try and do.

Conservatives need to stop freaking out about what if Obama gets election and deal effectively with this situation, instead of lamenting about what Bush-Cheney have done to the Republican Party and the anticipated shellacking that congressional candidates will receive in November. They are playing into the self-fulfilling prophecy and sure enough it will happen, unless they take decisive action - but that's another topic for another time. At the presidential level, this election is all about Obama and if the independents are willing to buy off on his thinly veiled campaign rhetoric, which contains numerous gaffes and flip-flops, aside from the great oratory skills he displays, which may only go so far in a situation of duress.

17. Thanks Ken.

What I've seen time and again is that the left simply tunes out the right. It's easier for them to remain in their echo chambers because the MSM helps keep their blinders on. But as the latest Rasmussen poll shows, Americans know the score. They know the media is in the tank for Obama, and they don't trust the MSM any further than they could throw Chris Matthews.

So now that the primary contest is over, most of the far left and near left will tune out and just assume that what the MSM is telling them is gospel truth. And the MSM will do their part of highlighting every tiny element that makes Obama look good and McCain look bad. And they'll omit every converse element.

So when election day comes around, the left won't know what happened. They will wake on Wednesday reeling and talking about moving to Canada.

And I hope that this time they follow through. I hear the healthcare up there is flawless.

18. I'm very impressed by the comments about the STALINIST Obama above. Keep it up folks and don't be shy about shaming the left wing nuts into a corner. It is to bad that a historic event like nominating a Black candidate for president happens to be a STALINIST. In the future I can't wait to vote for a Black conservative for president and see the left wing nuts around here spin like a top. Barak, as far as I'm concerned, is not electable and dosen't even have the American culture in his heart. He is "Jimmy Carters" second term and he is a Europian socialist, NOT AN AMERICAN!! The left is about to find out that their thought is shunned in this country. UooRaaaaa!!!

19. Any polls taken now are meaningless. Only the hard core politicos are paying attention to the election. Most everyone else is getting ready for summer vacation. Waint until after summer when people are actually paying attention.

Expect a 60 minutes "memo" from McCain's basic training instructor telling us all how lowsy he was. And it will all be typed up on MS Word 2008.

20. Cliff,

I do not think Obama is "green or Naive". His candidacy has been a carefully measured effort to tell the foolish masses exactly what the left wants them to hear, with the mainstream media marching in lockstep fashion, covering Obama's flanks. Powerful, heavily financed forces are at work here, forces that desire to neuter America and drive her to her knees. I believe that Europe, China and middle-eastern oil sheiks have laundered millions through "527" groups to elect Obama, who with no national allegiance, will dutifully follow his masters' orders.

So thank God for the internet and talk radio, where the truth casts light on this shadowy, virtually unknown aspirant to our presidency. Wake up, leftist fools, Obama will be the beginning of the end for America. Or perhaps you prefer it that way....

26. Will John McCain win 100% of the Republican vote, you know, 25% of the population?

Nope.

And all those who refer to Michelle Obama as racist betrays their own racism and makes it clear they'd prefer a drug-addicted ex-con as First Lady.

But, hey, keep sqwaking about Willaim Ayers and how Obama is a Marxist, and then claim that Democrats have no substantive claims against McCain.

And Hillary supporters just need to be reminded that McCain voted to ensure women could legally get paid less than men to go scurrying away from McCaincient. Now that's a leftist stance! (I'm sure he's wondering how women even got the right to vote.)

Yep, it's going to a be a bloodbath in November, with Obama mopping the floor with McCain. You guys should be more worried abotu why the Senate races in Texas, Mississippi, and North Carolina are so close. Why are they even competitive?

It's going to be sweet with President Obama and a cloture-proof majority in the Senate...

32. Reading from a piece BY MCain's FIRST wife, she says the marriage was over BEFORE he came home,. That they could not weather the test of time and distance.. NEITHER of them.

Facts might be in order before scurrilous insults... but then again we are talking about liberals.

"Words mean nothing to liberals. They say whatever will help advance their cause at the moment, switch talking points in a heartbeat, and then act indignant if anyone uses the exact same argument they were using five minutes ago.

33. I have a real good friend who came back from Nam (he didn't have the five years at the Hilton like McCain) and he had a terrible time adjusting. Still hasn't to be frank.

Horrible time for the men to be coming home. You think the today soldiers have PTS? You should have seen these guys and they are still fighting it.

Marriages- forget about it. These guys had nightmares. And, I couldn't blame the ladies either; they tried their best, too.

34. Swatter.

It can get to some. Yet we did lean after WWII this problem is out there, but no so over blown by the MSN as it is now.

My father came home after being a POW in WWII and made it thur the Battan Death March. Then the hell ships and a slave in Japan. He had a few problems with it but and went on with his life.

35. Swatter.

I too have a few nightmares (sweats) During my tour in Nam. We were shot down 3 times. Twice I lost friends and one crash was really bad "fire"

Like my father. I just moved on and learn to enjoy life and not let what happen drive me into a hole.

Posted by: Army Medic/Vet on June 9, 2008 01:55 PM
36. Anyways, McCain has been honest about his issues after coming "home" and I doubt real Democrats will use his failed first marriage over his head. Only the new jerks/nuts from the roots would make hay with it. The young 'uns are just learning about how things were right now and anything new is something to jump all over.
