Lands Commissioner Update

Doug Sutherland had a highly competitive race in 2004, thanks in part to heavy environmental group spending against him. Netroots favorite Peter Goldmark is picking up the D banner this year. The TNT's Political Buzz blog has an update:

Sutherland touts bipartisan endorsements; raises $200,000...

1. Doug Sutherland is a good guy. I met him when he campaigned his first year for the office. I'm definitely voting for him again.

2. Any word on that farmer Goldmark almost killed last summer when he was speeding and slammed into the the back of the guys tractor? I heard he was life flighted from the scene, did he recover?

3. Peter Goldmark is from Okanogan County, and ran against my Congresswoman Cathy McMorris-Rogers in 2006. He got smashed.

One of the ''rolling headlines'' on Goldmark's website for his current race for Land Commissioner sez it all:
''King County rallies around Peter''.

Just like Goldmark got a lot of his dollars from ''Greater Seattle'' in his losing race against Congresswoman McMorris-Rogers, I expect he will rake in much of the money he raises for this race from the left-wing, eco-extremist socialist center of King County.

4. Hmm, an unqualified favorite of the net roots runs for an executive position before he's really got the resume for it, while the Republicans put up a decent, moderate experienced candidate that's widely respected.

Does this sound familiar?

5. Doesn't have the resume for it? Goldmark's qualifications are sterling!
