The Undernews of the Governor's Race

Campaign organization rarely makes news - unless something goes wrong - but I'm seeing consistent signs, however anecdotal, that Dino Rossi's campaign is notably well-organized.

I've witnessed assorted campaign efforts, from local to Presidential, in action across the Evergreen State in the last decade. Rossi's is the first regarding which I have been consistently impressed by the organized effort of the campaign itself, including their presence at the recent Snohomish County GOP convention.

Most importantly, that organization seems thus far matched by the conservative grassroots. Granted, such is the product of the razor thin agony of 2004. Yet, it speaks to the earnest desire by many to see this campaign through properly.

Likewise, as much as many Sound Politics commenters have clearly stated their view against the topic, the continued saga of Key Arena and the Sonics is still an intriguing component of the local political scene. The story still has more to be told, the media will inevitably cover the demise of the Sonics franchise, and there remains more political blood to be spilt

Notice the now bipartisan criticism Olympia is receiving on the issue in public:

Nickels criticized Gov. Christine Gregoire and lawmakers. "We had hoped this offer would be compelling enough that the Legislature and the governor would embrace it," Nickels said.

Former U.S. Sen. Slade Gorton, who is working as an attorney on the city's KeyArena lawsuit, ripped lawmakers in a written statement.

"In this case, political leaders who should have been a part of the solution were, instead, the problem," Gorton said. "A solution before the April 17 NBA meeting would have given Seattle the maximum leverage either to keep the Sonics or to condition their loss on the immediate creation of a new NBA franchise in Seattle."

And, as I've noted before, state government continues to take a beating in the local sports media, both on KJR-AM and in the sports pages of the local dailies. See for example this sarcastic nugget at the end of a recent Art Thiel column:

Chris Gregoire Waffle Night: First 10,000 receive memento of governor's stance on KeyArena funding.

Wherever you stand on the issue itself, Christine Gregoire and other key Democrats in Olympia are taking notable political heat from an unexpected source, inflicting the damage in a demographic (non-politically attuned, working-class, white men) that may be critical this November.

1. I am supporting Governor Gregoire, but here is what I hope for. Both candidates have a sufficient number of peeps working in their campaign and everyone knows that the troops are out there and working. That the election runs smoothly and everyone is of the thought that the election ran as smooth as humanly possible. I expect Governor Gregoire to win, but I want the eventual winner to win by a sufficient margin so that people say that was the will of the majority of the voters. The next Governor deserves the ability to move their program along without any one taking pot shots at them for stealing an election. My candidate is Governor Gregoire, but if Senator Rossi wins, he is the Governor and that's that. Meanwhile, I'll do what I can to prevent that occurrance.

4. Incredible! I'm detecting a bit of OVER-confidence creeping into this campaign already. OMG, as if our Governor needs help from her opponents no less. This is too good! ALL ABOARD...for a merry ass-kickin. [You see, there's rationale for a bit of over-confidence on the incumbent side...]...whereas...Oh, never mind..continue to discuss and stroke yourselves. :)

5. WVH, you have always seemed to be a very intelligent lady. Yet, what is compelling about Gregoire that you like. Admittedly, I am a limited government type and have watched her progression through the channels of government with that background.

I have found her to be budget and power hungry as her solution to putting out fires is to throw more gasoline on it in the "hope" and "feeling" it will solve the problem.

6. Lysander, Eric brought up the arena things again.

Rs in the past have always been pro-business. Pro-business encompassed a whole range of things, including the Kingdome and other sport facilities. Rs, in the past, always supported the subsidy of these facilities in exchange for the supposed huge benefits of hosting big events like the NCAA Finals, Regionals or other one time events. That includes the baseball, football and basketball revenues from prosports.

That was always well-received by the electorate, both Rs and Ds, because it essentially paid for itself with extra food revenues, parking revenues and hotel bills. That meant increased staff and the auxilliary secondary jobs (to support the new staffing) that were created. In other words, for every job created at the sports facility, there would be 3 to 5 jobs created outside the facility.

Anyways, that was what was promoted and the pros had studies to support it.

And, I am not a young buck anymore, but I remember the excitement myself and everyone else felt getting that basketball franchise, the football franchise and the baseball franchise. It was a good feeling to have Seattle in the bigs.

However, in my mind, things have changed as sports has become, well, nonsporting. Owners are megabillionaires and players are right behind. Gone are the days swatter and his young friends could afford to troop down to sporting venue and cheaply watch a game.

Lysander, in conclusion, it was the break even (i.e. no subsidy) scenario that fit the R platform back in the days. And as you know from my posts, I no longer support that thinking.

The statement above does nothing to inspire confidence in your assertions that you are concerned about accountability in education, in fact it leads one to question your sincerity on that issue.

8. I'm just curious how many calls will be flooding the suicide hotline in Seattle when the unwashed wake up Wednesday morning in November to President McCain and Governor Rossi.

If you thought the caterwauling back in 2000 and 2004 was bad, wait for this collossal temper tantrum coming up in a mere 6-1/2 months. Get the crying towels ready Seattle, the extended forecast calls for frequent showers with heavy rain.

Giving to McCain won't do much good, so we need to try to avoid a disaster all the way down the ticket.

Not only in the Governor's office; but in the Senate and Representative office. A win for the Democrats will result in extreme taxes (tolls, global warming) to mention just two items pending the election results. Wake and smell the vile sewage of Olympia.

15. I think the real legacy of the Craswell/Carlson campaigns was to leave the dems wildly overconfident of yet another easy run for the Statehouse. Consequently, Gregoire just didn't take Rossi seriously and didn't bother to put on much of a campaign of her own. Let's hope she has learned the lesson.

On the other hand, Rossi is going to have a tough time no matter what. The dems in this state, and everywhere else are pretty fired up and showing up in big numbers to effect some "change." With the economy in the toilet, the war dragging on, and a presidential nominee that is the antithesis of inspiration, the reps are discouraged and looking to spend their money wisely.

I think this year's race for governor is Gregoire's to lose.

It's a shame we didn't learn that wars should be conducted only as a last resort and only against other nation states. Not against economic conditions like poverty or political tactics like terrorism.

Thanks for making a good point though.

19. Swatter and JDH,

Some candidates are transitional figures. I believe that Senator Mc Cain, if he wins is one and Governor Gregoire's second term will be a transition. Your party is not, in my opinion, in a position to lead a diverse urbanizing state at this point.

I will tell you exactly what made up my mind to support Governor Gregoire as the best candidate to led ALL the people of state at this point. The fact that the conservative libertarians seem to be in control of your party at this point. That ideology is fairly exclusive and rigid. The BIAW newsletter is fairly telling. One might think global warming is a sham, I do, but to compare anyone seriously to the Nazi movement and to be so clueless as to not understand what that means to a whole lot of folks is one tipping point. The other tipping point for me is just the hatred and venom expressed by some of the conservative libertarians against anyone who is different. I have fought many battles against Ivan, Pope, and even my pal Duffman. I never got the feeling that any of them wanted to eliminate me because of my race and gender. No candidate is perfect, but I believe Governor Gregoire is the best candidate at this transitional point to lead ALL the people.

I read the public blog and I think that republican leader Ruth Gibbs is showing a lot of courage in standing up to the libertarian thugs. I applaud her. She seems to be a principled conservative.

What we are talking about in changing education and promoting families is cultural change and that takes time. It took time to win in the anti-smoking and DUI campaigns. Governor Gregoire's second term will be transitional. People can still work on issues.

Still, as one of the libertarian thugs questioned, I am an American and Washingtonion and proud grad of WAZZU. Swatter, I understand you are a dog face, I don't hold that against you. But, if Senator Rossi wins, he is the Governor and his title will be Governor Rossi. I am working to prevent that as I don't want libertarian thugs running this state.

21. And a little bit of historical perspective may be in order for those who claim the Craswell run in '96 ruined the GOP.

Recall in that very same year, the state House GOP maintained its majority with a 56-42 advantage and the state Senate went from D control to a 25-24 Republican majority.

People will vote for conservative principles, but the candidate(s) need to sell it.

24. Many Republicans, including most politicians, make a mess out of efforts to appeal to Black voters.

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/ThomasSowell/2008/04/10/republicans_and_blacks

The above links to an article by conservative Black scholar and syndicated autor, Thomas Sowell, that explains the foul-ups and provides recommendations on how to communicate effective with Black voters.

Dino Rossi needs to read Sowell's advice and follow it. It is not surprising that Sowell's advice applies across racial lines. He outlines the message that conservatives must convey to all voters if they expect to win eleections.

45. @ 43- "So, republicans seem to have an electoral problem...

Take away the illegality in 2004 and the Republican candidate won the Governorship. Even the most ardent partisan Democrat admits that to themselves albeit begrudgingly. The only problem appears to be Democrats unwilling to relinquish their grasp on the power once they've attained it, and have no qualms about disenfranchising the voters in order to keep it.

The base is one way and what the electorate seems to want is another...Looks like the big tent is folding.

You'll see the error in that logic in November when Dino Rossi gives you a Birthday to remember this November...The big tent is coming and he's replacing the current 3 ring circus occupying Olympia......the first to go is the head Clown.

I do know that Governor Gregoire will win and you will have join one of your fellow thugs in grief counseling. A couple of observations:

a. Little Black Sambo is in the same category as the "N" word. Now, Rick D is the same person who likes to release personal info as an intimidation tactic. Both Ragnar and Rick D. claim to be conservatives. I have called them conservative libertarians. I have in the past called Rick D. a racist. Whether they consider themeselves republicans or whether others consider them republican, I don't know. They are the best recruiting tool any opposition party has.

3. Paddy,

You are correct. Most conservatives do not approach any group of color on the issues where they are likely to find agreement. They either seem to:

a. attempt to threaten or harass as Rick D. does

b. Use racist and offensive language like Ragnar

The net result is voters of color do not vote for conservatives

4. Transition figure means that people occupy a position between two eras.

28. I am perfectly OK with pointing out that teh American self described "progressive" movement was the cheerleading squad that enabled some of history's most efficient engines of suffering and mass genocide to come to, and maintain, power in the last century. Led by the NYT in most instances this movement continues to call "foul" when this is pointed out, I really don't care (I've have been known to bite in the clinches since a young age). The truth is the truth - here is an excellent article on how it was that Pol Pot was able to masacre hundreds of thousands.

http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/1998/04/30/american_leftists_were_pol_pots_cheerleaders?mode=PF

It starts off:

"The death of Pol Pot, 23 years to the day after he and the Khmer Rouge seized control of Cambodia, occasioned long backward glances at one of the 20th century's most horrific genocides. It was noted everywhere that the communist reign of terror in Cambodia lasted nearly four years and that at least 1 million human beings -- by some estimates as many as 2 1/2 million -- were murdered in an orgy of executions, torture, and starvation.

``In the name of a radical utopia,'' The New York Times recalled in its long obituary, ``the Khmer Rouge regime had turned most of the people into slaves. . . . Dictatorial village leaders and soldiers told the people whom to marry and how to live, and those who disobeyed were killed. [Those] who did not bend to the political mania were buried alive, or tossed into the air and speared on bayonets. Some were fed to crocodiles.'' Nearby was a photograph of human skulls -- emblem of the dreadful ``killing fields'' in which the communists butchered a quarter of Cambodia's people.

But nowhere in the Times story was there a reminder that the Khmer Rouge was able to seize power only after the US Congress in 1975 cut off all aid to the embattled pro-American government of Lon Nol -- and that it did so despite frantic warnings of the bloodbath that would ensue. President Ford warned of ``horror and tragedy'' if Cambodia was abandoned to the Khmer Rouge and pleaded with Congress to supply Lon Nol's army with the tools it needed to defend itself.

To no avail. US troops had come home two years earlier, but American antiwar activists were still intent on effecting the ``liberation'' of Southeast Asia. Radicals like Jane Fonda, David Dellinger, and Tom Hayden stormed the country, denouncing anyone who opposed communist victory in Cambodia and Vietnam. On the campuses, in the media, and in Congress, it was taken on faith that a Khmer Rouge victory would bring peace and enlightened leadership to Cambodia."

29. Swatter and Ragnar,

Ragnar said this:

"Note to swatter... don't dare ask our favorite victim to be acountable for her own words. Because she's a victim, she gets a self-gifted pass to make pronouncements and not be required to back them up.

Asking her to be as accountable as anyone else will quickly, loudly and repeatedly label you a racist. See Those Nazi Enviros for proof"

I helped out by actually posting passages from another thread. Do go to Nazi envios. What you will see in addition to people questioning the use of the analogy is a lot of hateful and hatefilled language. You will see a lot of personal attacks, not on the basis of ideas, just to make an attack. You will see threats and attempts to harass. The old Citizens Councils used the same threats and intimidation in an attempt to stop the Civil Rights movement. If Senator Rossi is the superior candidate, doesn't he win on the merits? If you need to call opponents Sambo or "victims" or worse, then all you are saying is people have to be intimidated or BANNED in order for your side to win. There is a world of difference between the supporters of Governor Gregoire and Senator Rossi and that is why she will win. Our side does not have to investigate people, name call, use threats or intimidation to get people to support her. She is the best candidate to govern ALL the people, no threats, intimidation, or name-calling needed.

The jolly and exciting tale of the little boy who lost his red coat and his blue trousers and his purple shoes but who was saved from the tigers to eat 169 pancakes for his supper, has been universally loved by generations of children. First written in 1899, the story has become a childhood classic and the authorized American edition with the original drawings by the author has sold hundreds of thousands of copies.
Little Black Sambo is a book that speaks the common language of all nations, and has added more to the joy of little children than perhaps any other story. They love to hear it again and again; to read it to themselves; to act it out in their play.

This may sound silly, but I want to propose a Republican candidate for Mayor: Clay Bennett.

There are a lot of reasons. Of course, if we could persuade him to move to Seattle then the Sonics could stay as well.

Mostly, I think he's shown he's the kind of hard nosed realist that this area needs. He's obviously been able to stand up to the maturity challenged politicos around here...why not make use of him?

33. Ragnar,

Sambo is an example of Jim Crow culture:

Picaninny Caricature
MORE PICTURES

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The picaninny1 was the dominant racial caricature of Black children for most of this country's history. They were "child coons," miniature versions of Stepin Fetchit (see the section on the coon caricature). Picaninnies had bulging eyes, unkempt hair, red lips, and wide mouths into which they stuffed huge slices of watermelon. They were themselves tasty morsels for alligators. They were routinely shown on postcards, posters, and other ephemera being chased or eaten. Picaninnies were portrayed as nameless, shiftless natural buffoons running from alligators and toward fried chicken.
The first famous picaninny was Topsy -- a poorly dressed, disreputable, neglected slave girl. Topsy appeared in Harriet Beecher Stowe's anti-slavery novel Uncle Tom's Cabin. Topsy was created to show the evils of slavery. Here was an untamable "wild child" who had been indelibly corrupted by slavery

http://www.ferris.edu/jimcrow/picaninny/

So, if you wish to support Jim Crow Culture and thinking. Well, I guess that fits right in with the Nazi envios thinking and probably lost Senator Rossi another few votes.

Posted by: WVH on April 10, 2008 11:06 AM
34. Of course, if we could persuade him to move to Seattle then the Sonics could stay as well.

Pro-Sports teams who don't invest in improving their infrastructure to increase future profits are a drain on their local economies. Why would you nominate someone who endorses and promotes a money loosing business model to be mayor?

Posted by: Cato on April 10, 2008 11:18 AM
35. I am undecided in the race. But it seems that most of Rossi's issues are repeats from four years ago and aren't accurate today (like the business climate).

On the other hand, Gregoire has done nothing of signficance that I can think of.

How do you choose between 2 candidates -- when neither has any obviously positive characteristics?

Posted by: Undecided on April 10, 2008 11:20 AM
36. Undecided,

You don't have to make a choice yet. Take the time to listen to both candidates. Watch the debates. Look at threads like this and others. Which group of supporters do you think are best for this state and this state's future? Think about it and then make up your mind. The election is not until November, you have time.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, if upon reflection, you realize there are no perfect candidates and you decide that given the way this state is growing, the future is not with those who promote the Little Black Sambo world.

Posted by: WVH on April 10, 2008 11:33 AM
37. Theres really nothing like a dose of condemnation from a moral relativist.

I have a question for you*, little black victim. Who are these hateful people calling you and others of your ilk out? Can you name the COLOR of these racist people that penned these words?

Person A:
" While it may be dulcet to those who trade on same, and to those who view themselves as "victims," that does not negate the truth that such a mindset is self-limiting and self-defeating. "

"Does a perceived slight by a white doctor or nurse automatically make them racist?"

"The resolution (New Jersey Legislature has voted to approve a resolution apologizing for slavery in the state.) is nothing more than pandering in its rawest form. With all of the so-claimed problems in black New Jersey, am I the only one who finds it curious that Payne's chief act of leadership is to work up an apology for something that, most probably, 90 percent of the people didn't know existed, and the other 10 percent didn't care about until they thought there was something in it for them? "

"Since shortly after the signing of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964-65, and the advent of the Great Society Initiatives, blacks have been systematically stripped of their dignity and converted from self-sufficient, pride-filled, patriotic Americans to wards of a liberal nanny government who are motivated by rage, resentment and animus. "

"The flames of anger are fanned, vis-a-vis a proscribed polarization based on the color of one's skin, by those who risk the greater loss, if and when blacks come to their senses. "

"Newton's third law is as applicable to our social structure as it is to physics and let there be no doubt that to continue down the path of unreasonable prejudice, antagonism and blame that far too many blacks insist upon is a sure way ultimately to experience it. "

"Their parents may tolerate being blamed for the ills of blacks, but there is a growing reluctance by white youths to accept those accusations silently. They are tired of being blamed for that which they had no part in. "

" As we move forward to the next generation, I predict that the pendulum of "blame whitey" as a derigueur for blacks will have consequences they will not like. I suggest that the mindset and the practice of rewarding the lowest common denominator is both abstruse and self-defeating. "

" The bottom line is that black America, fairly or not, does have a negative image problem one that CNN and those blacks who feign insult at the slightest perceived insult do little or nothing to change, while demanding not just a pass, but acceptance for and of their aberrant anti-social behavior. The difference being that CNN, the Jacksons, Sharptons and other race mongers cash in on it, while those engaging in the eructation of victimhood further marginalize themselves. "

" Blacks are inculcated from the womb to believe that whites, especially conservatives, are out to get them. Living under that onus creates a debilitating vestige of rage, resentment and inferiority. In reality, whites, apart from liberals who trade on black immiseration, are not interested in holding blacks down or treating them unfairly. And in no way do they reference blacks in the same disparaging ways blacks do them. "

Person B:
" Seventy percent of black children born out of wedlock is unacceptable. Celebration of drugs and perverse sex in rap music must be rejected."

Person C:
" The politically correct theme would be to continue articulating the politics of rage against white racism, with the expectation that more government welfare programs are not only the solution but are required as a payback for the centuries of discrimination and racism suffered by African Americans."

" Behavioral social scientists argue that we must change what we do before we can change what we think. In other words, no matter how much we argue about who is at fault for causing racial injustice, nothing will change until we begin to change some of the realities themselves."

Person D:
"Single-parent homes, drugs, promiscuity, abortion and sexually transmitted diseases, high school dropouts and the poverty that comes with all this are not caused by "Washington dominated by lobbyists and special interests." Nor do they have anything to do with what color or sex our president happens to be. They reflect personal decisions and can only be addressed through personal conviction and resolve."

"Black consciousness has always been defined by a sense of vulnerability. The painful realities of black American history have always posed a barrier for many blacks to buy into American ideals or the American dream."

"The more common political appeals to blacks have played on fears that the country is incorrigibly racist and that their only hope is to salvage a piece of the pie through political power and protection."

"So, despite progress on the part of conservatives to woo the black vote based on the values agenda, big-government Democrats continue to hold on to most black voters. "

"It is a lonely business to get blacks to appreciate that the values and principles of individual liberty, which have made this country so great, are as relevant and applicable to them as to everyone else. "

"Moreover, and perhaps tragically ironic, it is a lonely business to convince blacks that they are equally capable of living by and benefiting from these great principles. That indeed, for every black American to realize his or her potential, they must."

"It's like blacks do not exist as individuals. "

"It is most reasonable to trace the preponderance of problems that are tearing up black life in our inner cities today to irresponsible sexual behavior.

Person E:
"Theyre standing on the corner and they cant speak English. I cant even talk the way these people talk: Why you aint, Where you is. . . . And I blamed the kids until I heard the mother talk. And then I heard the father talk. . . . Everybody knows its important to speak English except these knuckleheads. . . ."

Person F:
"Equality means that a black demagogue who has been exposed as a phony deserves exactly the same treatment as a white demagogue who has been exposed as a phony. "

"Blacks have voted so overwhelmingly for Democrats for so long that Republicans have few incentives to try to gain black votes and little success when they do. "

"Liberal Democrats, especially, must keep blacks fearful of racism everywhere, including in an administration whose Cabinet includes people of Chinese, Japanese, Hispanic, and Jewish ancestry, and two consecutive black Secretaries of State. Blacks must be kept believing that their only hope lies with liberals. Not only must the present be distorted, so must the past and any alternative view of the future must be nipped in the bud. That is why prominent minority figures who stray from the liberal plantation must be discredited, debased and, above all, kept from becoming federal judges. "

"Black self-reliance would be almost as bad as blacks becoming Republicans, as far as liberal Democrats are concerned. All black progress in the past must be depicted as the result of liberal government programs and all hope of future progress must be depicted as dependent on the same liberalism. "

"Achievement is not what liberalism is about. Victimhood and dependency are. "

"Black educational achievements are a special inconvenience for liberals because those achievements have usually been a result of methods and practices that go directly counter to prevailing theories in liberal educational circles and are anathema to the teachers' unions that are key supporters of the Democratic Party. "

"White liberals come into this story because, since the 1960s, they have been aiding and abetting a counterproductive ghetto lifestyle that is essentially a remnant of the redneck culture which handicapped Southern whites and blacks alike for generations. "

"Many among the intelligentsia portray the black redneck culture today as the only "authentic" black culture and even glamorize it. They denounce any criticism of the ghetto lifestyle or any attempt to change it. "

Person G:
"The major problems confronting a large segment of the black community have little or nothing to do with racism -- problems such as unprecedented illegitimacy, family breakdown, fraudulent education, crime and rampant social pathology. If white people became angels tomorrow, it would do nothing to solve problems that can only be solved by blacks."

"What does it say about blacks who can be taken in by pandering, alarmist nonsense from both whites and blacks as a means to get their votes? "

"The cruelest hoax of it all is the fraud perpetrated on black students and their parents. This was forcefully brought home to me over the holidays in a conversation with an in-law who boasted about how his son, a senior, was on his school's honor roll at one of Philadelphia's inner city high schools. While it was not thrilling, honesty compelled me to inform him that the average black high school graduate has an academic achievement level on par with that of an average white seventh-grader. His son's A's and B's would probably translate into C's, D's and F's at most other high schools."

Person H:
"... blacks should take responsibility for their own disproportionate crime rates and poor academic performance and not blame a system imposed on them by whites; that whites support affirmative action and other "silly racial policies" out of fear, to avoid accusations of racism."

"...that blacks who use the "race card," as Johnnie Cochran did in defending O.J. Simpson, are practicing "blackmail" through the manipulation of white guilt. "

"...black oppression ended with the racial reforms of the 1960s. "Blacks live in a bubble because nobody ever tells us the truth. No one says, 'You're making too many excuses. Your kids can do better and ought to do better than they do now, and you ought to be more responsible about that.' " "

""Black identity since the '60s has been a totalitarian identity. It's enforced. And if you don't subscribe to the party line, then you are a betrayer and a dissident, and you are treated as dissidents were treated in the Soviet Union." "

Person I:
"The so-called black leadership wants blacks to think of themselves as victicrats. Government failure to respond expeditiously to Katrina racism. Republican efforts to lower taxes racism. When asked why "Eight Mile" a black area outside Detroit suffers, while the neighboring and predominately Arab area prospers, black longtime Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., responded, "Racism." "

"The so-called "black leadership" wants it both ways. They want to keep blacks monolithically voting for the Democratic Party by uniting them in anger and fury over often bogus charges of "racism" and "disenfranchisement." On the other hand, they apparently want the very same blacks to ignore these charges, and go out and vote, because "every vote counts." "

"Maybe someday one of the news anchors will ask one of the so-called civil-rights leaders the following question: Doesn't the demand for race-based preferences, set-asides, private-sector anti-discrimination laws, social-welfare programs, and social "safety net" programs all conspire to say one thing "You are not responsible"? "

"Some demand a commission to investigate the failures and breakdowns in Hurricane Katrina. Fine. Let's hope they put together a commission to investigate another hurricane that wrought by the welfare state and the irresponsible use of the race card."

"When can we blacks get to the point where you and I can have a disagreement about racism, affirmative action, the War in Iraq, whatever without someone who thinks like me being a sell-out or an Uncle Tom? Is that at all possible? Am I asking too much? "

Person J:
"Those on the left are indeed far more callous, condemnatory and malignant that those they identify as their political enemies. Far-left whites look upon more conservative blacks as ingrates who bite the hand that feeds, while far-left blacks are as quick to dispatch them via character assassination as rival gangbangers do with the gun."

"Those who can see under the sheep's clothing are keenly aware that far-left politics have done more to demoralize and disenfranchise blacks than anything since slavery and segregation, and that those blacks who pledge allegiance thereto have either been misled or are in it for personal gain. Their references to blacks who do not walk in lock step with them as "house niggers" and other odious terms are therefore more aptly ascribed to them, for it is they who are complicit in advancing the agenda that keeps so many blacks in a state of cultural wretchedness. It is paramount for influential whites and blacks on the far left to perpetuate these attacks on black people who have shed those chains of imposed ignorance and work within the mainstream cultural paradigm."

Person K:
"Exploiting racial polarization isn't MLK's tradition, for his national civil rights movement didn't focus on color as much as the person, the man, the woman to be allowed to fulfill America's covenant with herself. "

"Stop selling our people out year after year to curry favor with the Clintons" and the Democrat machine. They have enslaved us long enough. "

"...our people have been on the liberal Democrat plantation nearly 80 years two generations of volunteer slavery. Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes declared it best when he said, "Three generations of imbeciles are enough!" "

"Like slavery, abortion gives one person the power to terminate the life of another under the color of law."

"Liberalism has utterly decimated my people; nevertheless we keep electing incompetent, socialist liberal hacks like Sen. Carl Levin, Rep. John Conyers, Rep. John Dingell, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his mother, Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, to rule over us like lords of the medieval fiefdoms of antiquity or the African tyrants of today. How long, people? How long?! Dingell's socialism has oppressed us since 1955, and he is going for his record 28th term!"

"Political and societal redemption will only occur when black people learn to forsake identity politics. Stop voting for skin color (Obama); stop voting for gender (Hillary Clinton); stop serving as a mindless voting bloc for liberal policies that continue to enslave your hopes, your religious faith, your children, your future, and vote for a moral-based political philosophy rooted in the Judeo-Christian traditions of Truth and Liberty."

"I call this phenomenon, which is particularly acute in modern politics and culture, Plantation Liberalism, or the idea that all black people "owe" Democrats (white people) an unpayable debt, a slavish allegiance to the Democratic Party for life and any black person who dares to even insinuate that they "made it" without affirmative action, without marching in the streets for "rights" we already have, without giving due deference to the historical civil rights legislation that liberal Democrats alone are wholly responsible for and magnanimously bestowed upon us are (metaphorically speaking) "off the plantation" and are castigated as "Uncle Toms," "Oreo cookies," "heretics, apostates, ingrates ... uppity ni----s." These renegade black conservatives will be dealt with in the requisite manner as a slave master would treat a captured runaway slave viciously, summarily, personally. This was the despicable conduct Sen. Boxer spewed upon Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice a disgusting spectacle indeed that received little coverage from the largely white, liberal mainstream media. "

"If you think I write from hyperbole, ask yourself, would Sen. Barack Hussein Obama have any measure of the sycophantic celebrity status he daily enjoys from Oprah, from Hollywood and the propaganda media but for the fact that he is a black man, a brazen liberal Democrat with a voting record more extreme than even Hillary Rodham Clinton or Teddy Kennedy?! Certainly not. "

"For over a generation now, liberal Democrats, with the help of their willing accomplices in the perverse propaganda media, have surreptitiously hidden the philosophy of Plantation Liberalism from public view, though on occasion, as with the Boxer episode, liberal politicians in power find it exceedingly difficult to conceal their utter hatred, contempt and racist paternalism they have for any black person that achieves the pinnacle of his or her profession without kissing the ring of liberal Democrats: This is the unpardonable sin! "

"Race hustlers and demagogues like Rev. Al Sharpton, Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Congressional Black Caucus and black elites that believe that their salvation is in another government program, another minimum wage increase, another welfare handout, or artificially forcing white people to accept blacks as equals via litigation ("artificial forcing") will fail. "

"Stop voting your color and start voting for your interests."

Person L:
""There is (a) class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.""

"The wisest among my race understand that the agitation of questions of social equality is the extremist folly, and that progress in the enjoyment of all the privileges that will come to us must be the result of severe and constant struggle rather than of artificial forcing."

Have you figured out the point, little black victim?

The point, since we all know you have not figured it out, is you (particularly YOU) can't judge a persons intentions, heart or skin color on their words.

You don't know what color I, or any other SP poster with a psuedonym, am. You assume based on your own prejudices and the massive chip on your shoulder. What makes it so sad is that you can't fathom you are exactly what you accuse others of being, that you don't even realize your own hateful prejudice negates any intelligent thought you might happen to stumble across.

'So, if you wish to support victim culture and thinking. Well, I guess that fits right in with the race pimps thinking and probably lost queen chrissy another few votes.'

Live and be well, little black victim.

A couple of observations:
... Now, Rick D is the same person who likes to release personal info as an intimidation tactic.

Ummm yes, it must have been me that declared you to be a Black Woman with a PhD(alleged). correct?

...I have in the past called Rick D. a racist.

However when challenged to defend this ridiculous assertion with proof....nothing but silence and obfuscation from WVH.

Most conservatives do not approach any group of color on the issues where they are likely to find agreement.

Translation: I'm a black woman with a chip on my shoulder. You're white and don't agree with my political philosophy......ergo, you're a racist.

What a sad and Pathetic life you must lead.

41. Rick D and Ragnar,

Keep posting. You are the best recruiting tools any opposition party has. I am not running for anything, but I am supporting Governor Gregoire because she is the best chance of keeping you two doofas out of state government.

You represent the past and the Little Black Sambo world.

I don't have to use threats or intimidation to convince people that Governor Gregoire is the way to go. I don't have to investigate the opposition.

So, both of you need to find a grief counselor because Governor Gregoire will be the next Governor. People realize that her supporters and what you represent are two vastly different views of the world. Little Black Sambo and Jim Crow vs. an state that is diverse and on the cutting edge of international trade and thought. Given the choice, voters will chose the future represented by Governor Gregoire. Cheers.

42. Ragnar,

let's see, you think Little Black Sambo is the classic work of literature. Little Black Sambo is an example of Jim Crow.

Here is info on Jim Crow:

The History of Jim CrowJimcrowhistory.org is an educator's site that presents teachers with new historical resources and teaching ideas on one of the most shameful periods in ...
www.jimcrowhistory.org

You support Jim Crow.

Now, Duffman supports our Constitution and equal rights for all. Doesn't use racist or abusive language. Doesn't insult gays or call people of color disparaging terms.

So, I wonder who is the racist in this discussion?

46. Little Black Sambo is a historical piece, celebrated in it's time (1899), "for the intelligence and ingenuity of children".

It only became racist when the congregants of the Church of Perpetual Victimhood whined.

The message of courage, of reaching out to those who hate you or speaking and understanding in our commonality is timeless... and sorely missed by our little black victim.

I doubt the serial obfusCATOr has ever even seen it, let alone read it. KCLS has a copy published in 1923. Educate yourself.

47. Eric,

I think you are overestimating the effect of sports junkies (aka non-politically attuned, working-class, white men). Though I am curious why you think only white men go to basketball games. At any rate, I bet most of them don't even bother to vote. These are people that complain the presidential debates interrupt their football game.

There are many things to rake Gregire for, not throwing truckloads of money at millionaire sports teams isn't one of them. If milquetoast Republicans such as yourself feel that is an issue you can ride into Olympia, I think you are making a mistake. And you are being hypocritical to the Republicans principles of free market based solutions and lower taxes.

You cannot credibly argue that the government should get out of our lives and lower taxes in one breath and then turn around and ask for money for Sports teams.

Your brand of wishy washy pandering Republicanism is one factor that prevents a revival of Republican ideals in this state. Every time someone tries to draw a contrast between parties, there is always some milquetoast that has thrown in with the tax and spend liberals and muddies the waters. Liberals absolutely love this because it gives them cover for their wasteful ways.

I have an idea. How about we demand market solutions and lower taxes consistently? Then voters can tell the difference between parties.

48. Cato- You are well aware of WVH's mentally imbalanced postings, so quit being her enabler.

She turns every thread into her own little pity party about race or racism whether perceived or real (in her case "the Klan or Duke types"is around every corner). She has neither the intelligence nor inclination to back up her wild allegations instead choosing the fall back position of "I'm a victim, don't you feel sorry for me?"

Wildly Validating Herself doesn't need you to enable her erratic and unstable behavior or accusations. At some point when a poster is fighting with nearly everyone on the thread, you've got to let reality seep in and accept it's probably the common denominator, in this case WVH.

Now, if you'll kindly point to where I'm "not doing the GOP party/candidate on this thread" with an example.

So was Birth of a Nation, that doesn't mean it's not a racist piece of propaganda.

That's right, if we had more candidates like Ellen Craswell (RIP) then the GOP would take this state right back to the good ol' days. Good ol' American Taliban, always trying to hijack the GOP. No wonder the Dem's have held the Governors seat for 30 years.

I have an idea. How about we demand market solutions and lower taxes consistently?

Great idea in theory, never in the history of the GOP rule anywhere has this actually happened. Huckabee, Romeny, Guiliani...all failed to do this. Give me proof as to why you think Rossi is any different?

I mean because if we are talking about racists no longer in office and going back in time, the KKK originated with the Democrat Party in the 19th century. THe first Civil Rights bill of 1877 might have passed hasd the Democrats not killed it.

The sad laughable part is they think they are fooling us when they make fools of themselves. They think by monitoring words with their words they are having an impact on attitudes. They think by accusing others of hate it will make them like themselves.

Let em go, let em perpetuate it, let em pass it on, let em breed... it won't make them right, it will just make them victim fools LONGER.

When have I cast "conclusive judgements" about you in regard to anything but your ill-chosen preference in candidates? Ever?

Nope.

Nice try.

What you fail to understand, in your apparent allegiance the the little black victim, is that I really don't care what color you are, I don't care if you shave your head or let your leg hairs grow, I don't care if you prefer tofu to beef, I don't care if you are an Ork from Mork (Mork from Ork?) and I don't care if your circle three times counter clockwise and bow to the closest cow facing northeast on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

What I care about is misguided allegiance to a political party that for the most part puts forth policies that create more harm than good. What I care about is the pepetuation of lies and stereotypes while matched by the righteous indignation of those far too adept at stereotypes. What I care about it hypocrisy.

I proudly repeat what I said in another thread: I will not allow them to make outrageous claims or statements without challenging their premise or veracity. I take pleasure in backing them into the corner of their own words and I absolutely enjoy verbally bludgeoning them when they try to dance and spin. I will not back down or back off and I don't pull my punches. They can't take it or move on.

WVH, have you tried to discuss things with Dennis Prager? He is a good and polite debater. Apparently, there are Prager clubs (like a bridge club) that meet and talk about things in life. I regularly listen to his podcast; I skip over the ones I am not interested in. Even though he is now a conservative, he once was a proud liberal.

You can get a flavor as he is on kol 1300 from 9-12 in the morning. I've thought of him for a while and was thinking of the best time to tell you. I think you will the debate and discussion there more satisfying than you get here with some of the others. For me, I am no where near your depth. This is an extreme compliment, BTW.

YET: In the mind of a lib a minorities cannot compete on there own merit and therefore need set asides and quotas. **Ironic in light of the fact that education , social programs and many large city gov'ts are run by Dems/Libs**

YET: It's the lib agenda that target our constitutional freedoms. **They now have laws that tell us how to think....what else is a hate crime?**

The ugly truth is Dems/Lib want social programs that will force big gov't on us all. They care about minorities as long as they vote Dem.

On their blogs it seems that lib is always the first to make a gay comment/joke or out someone?

Nice try. I did NOT say what you ASSumed and wanted to read into it.

What I said was "Our boys knew, when growing up that the tattler would get an equal punishment as the wrong doer. It's an ugly trait."

If son A came running and tattling that son B did this that or the other, son A got an equal punishment for tattling. If something was done wrong and neither told the truth but one tattled, both the wrong doer and the tattler were punished.

What came out of it was that they told the truth to protect themselves AND each other.
What came out of it is that each grew up with the courage to own his actions.
What came out of it was each valuing his brother enough to protect him at your his risk.

And yes those ARE good values.

Nowhere did I say ANYONE.
Nowhere did I mention criminals.
Nowhere did I mention neighbors.
No here did I ment prison.

Well, of course, state government takes a beating in the local sports media over the Sonics issue. There is a relationship of co-dependency between professional sports franchises and local media, because professional sports sells newspapers and helps ratings. The local sports media have a deep and direct interest in public subsidies of professional sports franchises, so they're hardly speaking for the public interest on this. They're speaking for their own special interest. Nothing wrong with that -- it's a free country, and they can pursue their self-interest as they see it. But not to recognize that is either to be not very candid or else very naive.

Where are Gregoire's 30% cuts, she hired thousands of new state workers, and is on the fattest of spending sprees that cannot possibly be sustained in a recession or downturn, which we are in. What's going to give? Her spending or the citizens of Washington spending?

a. investigated me
b. threatened me
c harassed or attempted to intimidate
d. used racial slurs

2. I sincerely hope that Senator Rossi has appointed Ragnar, Rick D., and Pirate to:

a. His steering Commitee
b. His Finance Commitee
c. States on the record that these guys are just the kind of people he wants involved in ALL aspects of state government.

IF YOU WANT RAGNAR, RICK D., PIRATE, and folks like them in state government, then by all means,
vote for Senator Rossi.

3. Ragnar has made the following comments on this thread:

"Little Black Sambo is a book that speaks the common language of all nations, and has added more to the joy of little children than perhaps any other story. They love to hear it again and again; to read it to themselves; to act it out in their play.

Put away your outrage, your censor pen and grow up, little black victim"

Little Black Sambo is part of the legacy of Jim Crow. Here is info on Jim Crow:

The History of Jim CrowJimcrowhistory.org is an educator's site that presents teachers with new historical resources and teaching ideas on one of the most shameful periods in ...

If you want little Black Sambo as part of the school curriculum, by all means, vote for Senator Rossi.

3. Rick D has said the following and this exerpt was taken from another thread. The thread in it's entirety should be read:

Now, let's look at the comment that prompted this exchange and the response:

WVH stated in #23:
The question is which candidate is the best person to stand up and say that Nazi symbols are wrong. Governor Gregoire, of course.
3. This is the defintion of nonpartisan:
a person who is nonpartisan
free from party affiliation or bias
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

You are truly a moron to juxtapose your bias for Gregoire (against Rossi) and the definition of nonpartisan. Not having a party label is not, and will never be a substitute for nonpartisan, and you are only kidding yourself to say that.
Like so many said, I seriously question how you got your PhD, if you indeed earned it.
I suggest to you that you simply stop coming to (or posting) at SP, because you show your true color, to quote bsquared in #31, and your utter lack of logic and reason every time you post something.

50. WVH, you are truly a moron. I never said anything about banning you, and you know you are just trying to put my words in my mouth. I simply suggested that you voluntarily stop coming and posting because you are making a bigger fool of yourself the more you write.

Your reply is a classic example of your foolishness. Your implication that anyone (and you specifically stated my Asian heritage) who came to the US on a visa would not understand the first amendment is a complete logical fallacy. This is in the same league as your questioning of others on black-ness based on number of black friends, neighbors, etc. Maybe, I should just flip the question and ask you:

1) How many personal friends do you have of those from Asia on a visa?

2) The church you go to, how many came from Asian countries on a visa?
...
I could list a few more, but I hope you get the point on how ridiculous your black-ness test is.
Now, as for your claim that Gregoire is the best person to stand up and say that Nazi symbols are wrong, just give me one solid argument supporting this. She is the best? That means she is better than you or any other person in this state? Who is the second best?

Last not but least, I will bite your bait and answer on your qualification questions. I came to the US as a student in 1984 and got a BS and MS. I do feel I am pretty well Americanized and understand US culture, probably better than you.
I see you a frog in a well that sees only what's inside of the well. You only see diversity in terms of black-ness, while I see myself a frog from outside into the well telling to the frog inside that there is a bigger world out there.
Well, that's enough for now, and I hope this is the day you stop from making a fool of yourself.

1) How many personal friends do you have of those from Asia on a visa?

Quite a few. I grew up in a community with a substantial number of Koreans and Filipinos.

I have volunteered helping people with visa issues.

2) The church you go to, how many came from Asian countries on a visa?
A really huge number. I am Catholic.

So Dope,

1. How many Black people do you know and do you see them socially?

2. If you belong to a faith community, does that faith community have any Black members?
...

Amd you think everyone else has a problem.

Why, I'd bet you despise Mark Twain for using the venacular particular to the time period in which he based his stories. Oh wait. You do. Which is why the whiners prevent children from being exposed to literature.

BTW, my kids have been exposed to BOTH, Bannerman and Twains books growing up. We discussed the controversy. At the tender age we read/listened to them, they thought the whiners are idiots too.

Dear serial obfusCATOr, It was clear I was talking within my own family. If it make you feel better to read something else into it, then I'm glad I could make your night. The unfortunate part is that anyone with half a brain sees your trick. Good luck at ever being taken seriously.

Divorce and abortion are not only grave sins that offend God, the Pontiff said. "They leave wounds that mark life indelibly."

At the same time, the Pope said, it must be understood that the Church's laws against abortion and divorce are not arbitrary, but reflect the purpose of the Creator and the needs of human welfare.

The choice of abortion and divorce often reflects "selfish complicity," the Pope said.

Whose laws are you folloowing when you support a pro-bort candidate, little black victim? Certainly not those of the Church to which you calim to belong.

AMERICANS have a peaceful political process called elections. We will vote in November.

If folks want people like you leading state government, Senator Rossi will win. If they don't he will lose, it is as simple as that.

The only poll that counts is election day. So,
work your big fat buns off supporting your candidate and I will work for Governor Gregoire, that is the way the system works.

Now Ragnar, why does black have to be in the title Ragnar, why can't the book be called Little Sambo? Why make the kid black with big red lips at all if the story takes place in India? Hmmm, Indians seem to have a much lighter skin tone than the child portrayed in this book.

117. Rick D,

Our resident racist. You are correct you didn't reveal my name the first time. It was pudge. I wonder if it is birds of a feather. Both of you associated with the BIAW thugs?

Governor Gregoire doesn't need to investigate, harass, intimidate or threaten anyone to get them to vote for her. Neither her or her nor supporters uses thug tactics against those who freely choose another candidate.

If people want thugs in office like you, then they should by all means vote for Rossi.

If people want the BIAW controlling state government and investigating those they consider to be enemies, then they should by all means vote for Rossi.

If people want those in government who think Little Black Sambo is a classic and should be read to children, then they should by all means vote for Rossi.

By constantly revealing personal info, you are attempting to threaten or silence any one who opposes your racist views. That is a tactic of the KKK and White Citizens Council. They use to hange nooses in trees around the houses of Blacks, they burned crosses in the yards of Blacks and others. One of the major incidents was the subject of the movie Mississippi Burning where three young civil rights workers were lynched and killed, two Jews and one Black. Guess what, people still fought for their rights.

It you want people like Rick D in state government, by all means, vote for Rossi.

If you want a Governor who governs ALL the people fairly without investigations, threats, harassment and intimidation. Your choice is Governor Christine Gregoire.

118. Focus on discussing ways to fight those who use social weapons against civilization

We do, they're called Republicans. They like to come up with creative ways to drive wedges into population groups via fear.

opposing those using the Bill of Rights to destroy our rights

You mean like the 4th Amendment which the Bush Administration is so fond of destroying?

the Pope scorns those of you who support, promote and defend THOSE who support promote and defend abortion.

The Pope also put a man on trail for claiming the Earth revolved around the Sun. That man was found guilty. The Pope hardly a reputable source for guidance after that little fact.

Opposing abortion, opposing homosexuality, opposing black Marxist presidential candidates in Democrat drag,

Opposing Abortion vs. Govt. dictating what a person can/cant do with their body

Opposing Homosexuality vs. Govt. dictating individuals sexual preference

Opposing black Marxist presidential candidates vs. Govt. dictating how much melanin a person has in order to qualify for a Presidential run

Now Ragnar, for a person who claims to believe in a small non-interfering government you sure have a lot of exceptions.

119. "Rick D. Our resident racist."...
"silence any one who opposes your racist views. ~ Why Victimize Herself..

Still waiting on Wilda's proof of this. You have an entire archive at your disposal, yet you can't come up with anything? Are you lazy? Is there any? please share your evidence with the rest of the class WVH.
The abscence of evidence to back up your assertions speaks to your credibility or more accurately, to your uncredibility. But hey, you're a victim right?

Time to put up or shut up, hon.

120. Now Ragnar, for a person who claims to believe in a small non-interfering government you sure have a lot of exceptions.

Looks like those comments were made by The Pirate and not Ragnar. Sorry Ragnar, I responded to a troll thinking it was you.

121. So, you call people who disagree with you every name in the book

Oh really? EVERY name? I think not, little black victim. I call you the name that describe your style and attitude. I do not attack with ugly, hateful invective.

Now let us just see who does...

"moral values for your brats" - serial obfusCATOr

"Rags", "your big fat buns", "STFU" "What's the matter, you didn't call Jenny?" " thugs" - the little black victim.

why can't the book be called Little Sambo?

Unflipping believable.

BECAUSE you ... serial obfusCATOr, in 1899 it wasn't considered offensive to be called or portrayed as BLACK... ESPECIALLY considering the fact THAT the title character was a heroic young BLACK boy who overcame incredible obstacles.

One would think a community would celebrate such a wonderful role model... instead you decry a flipping WORD and celebrate foul-mouthed, disgusting rappers.

Oh wait... I get it! Sambo had the audacity to take care of himself and solve his own problems without help from mommy government forced upon him by power hungry race pimps! Got it! 'Baadddd Sambo, BAD!'
'Baadddd Condi Rice, BAD!'
'Baadddd Justice Thomas, BAD!'
'Baadddd Michael Steele, BAD!'
'Baadddd Ken Blackwell, BAD!'

You hypocrites don't give a flying fig about actions only words.

The joke is on you. Maybe if a few more of those foul-mouthed, disgusting rappers had been exposed to that little heroic BLACK boy, the black community wouldn't be in the dire straights it is.

RE 118; Nice try. Attribute one of those things to me... with exception of the Pope and his hatred for abortion and his scorn for its supporters. The best you could do is compare it with the action in a time before scientific enlightenment?

1. I doubt and really don't care if Roe is ever overturned... it's not about LEGALITY, it's about MORALITY.

2. I don't give a fig who or what you want to bugger... just keep it to yourself and STOP shoving what YOU WANT down the throats of the rest of us. Once again it's not about LEGALITY, it's about MORALITY.

3. Opposing black Marxist presidential candidates vs. Govt. dictating how much melanin a person has in order to qualify for a Presidential run
Are you really that despicable of a human being?
I oppose all/BOTH your Marxist candidates... neither on their color nor their gender... but because they are liars, because they hate my country, because their ideas are destructive and their goals are to divide us.

" Leftists are uniformly defined by their hypocrisy and dissociation from reality. They speak of unity, but they foment division, appealing to the worst in human nature by separating Americans into dependent constituencies. They support freedom of thought, unless those thoughts don't comport with theirs. They feign tolerance while practicing intolerance. They resist open discussion and debate of their views, yet seek to silence dissenters. They protest for natural order while advocating for homosexuality and abortion. They assert their First Amendment rights, except, of course, when it comes to religion, whence they impose the doctrines of secular atheism on everyone else. They decry SUVs, except those that they own. They advocate mass transit but commute on private jets. They believe trial lawyers save lives and doctors kill people. They believe the solution to racism is to treat people differently on the basis of the color of their skin rather than the content of their character. They deride moral clarity because they can't survive its scrutiny. Ad infinitum... "

122. " Leftists, on the other hand, externalize responsibility for problems and solutions by holding others (read: conservatives) to blame for their ills, and by bestowing upon the state the duty for arbitrating proper conduct--even proper thought. "

" A footnote: It's no coincidence that conservative political bases tend to be suburban or rural, while liberal political bases tend to be urban. The social, cultural and economic blight in many urban settings are Leftist breeding grounds for legions of the disenfranchised, those who are largely dependent on the state for all manner of their welfare, protection and sustenance. 123. Rick D, and Rags,

Rick D. in addition to being a racist, you fat like Rags.

The choice is clear, if people want you two in prominent positions in state government, then folks should vote for Rossi.

If people want people who openly express racist views in state government, then people should vote for Rossi.

If people want supporters who use threats, intimidation, and harassmaent against opponents, then people should vote for Rossi.

Remember, RICK D and RAGS are not only the face of the Rossi campaign, but they are the face of any Rossi government.

Dudes, you are the best recruiting tools any opposition campaign ever had.

124. @ 123- Will that proof be forthcoming Wilda? or can we just assume you're a lying degenerate?
I think we both know the answer.......the latter.

Nobody says Dude's anymore there "DUDE", that went out in the 80's....you were in what? your 30's or so?
Obviously, WVH is in some kind of time warp for bigots.

Where there's a Wilda....there's a Way (to make an excuse).
