And the next initiative in the cross-hairs is...

Not content to challenge portions of I-960, Democrats in Olympia are also trying to de-fang I-900. Read about it over at the Public Blog...and consider adding your own voice to that forum.

1. What do you expect it is for the children to increase taxes. They do not want to make it harder to increase taxes to pay for social programs heaven help them if they ever support fixing our Infrastructure. The more taxes they spend on everything else the less available for core government responsibilities. And they can ask for more tax money to pay for Core responsibilities. Never cut the social programs because it is for the children. Does not matter that it increases the cost for Car insurance, Health Insurance that working people in the state have to protect themselves. Regulate Businesses to the point of making it hard to hire new people. I love it when I found out a house painter has to pay the same L&I as a painter working on a bridge. Guess what if you hire a painter to paint your house thats several dollars an hour added to the cost to hire someone. Increase costs to the home owner. I guess a home does look like a bridge.

2. your example of the painter is the classic share-the-pain Socialism so popular with the useful-idiot class of today. You talk of basic economic issues - if it costs the contractor an additional $5 or $10 per hour for labor because the State L&I has arcane rules, you can't be competitive to get the job in the first place.

No job, no business.

The Socalists simply don't care. Just pay the L&I rate. Falling off a 6' ladder into the garden and falling off the Narrows Bridge are the same to them, and if it doesn't fit the real world, tough for you. Never mind the crew that was in Mexico 2 years ago undercuts you by 50%. Maybe because they don't pay any L&I, payroll tax, unemployment tax, etc, that is why they net as much as you do when you run your business legally.

You are an evil Capitalist taking advantage of all those people who own houses and need them painted. Why, you profit off of their unfortunate circumstance of peeling paint.

Better raise the L&I rate again.
