Attacks on the initiative process

As Eric noted below, Joel Connelly argues today against the latest attack on the iniatitive process by Democrats in the legislature.

On the other hand, the P-I has perhaps the only editorial board in the state which thinks it's a good idea to require paid signature gatherers to register with the PDC, making them targets for harassment by political opponents. Somewhat hypocritical coming from Dorothy Parvaz, who unlawfully put a false address on her voter registration form, purportedly to protect herself from harassment from her political opponents.

Our state legislature's attempt to cripple the initiative process is part of a nationwide effort by government employee unions and their friendly politicians to protect their gravy train from the citizens.

They seek to neutralize citizens who campaign for clean government, just as they are trying to do to Paul Jacob in Oklahoma.
