"Girl You Know It's Not True"

Bob Owens compares Barack Obama with Milli Vanilli.

It's possible that Obama really is more than a Milli-Vanilli-style vapid crowd-pleaser. It's also possible that he's a different kind of politician who really will deliver on all of his implausible campaign promises. But this Terry Gross interview with professor Jonathan Oberlander on the major candidates' health care plans is worth a listen. Oberlander seems ideologically inclined towards statist universal health care, but also seems realistic about implementation details. Oberlander's conclusions: Neither Clinton nor Obama has a reality-based plan to pay for their promise of universal coverage, and their stated plans for controlling costs are not going to control costs.
