Not sure if it'll get anywhere, but it's a start: local cities prodding Snohomish County to use its authority under the legislation creating the RTID to move forward with needed roads projects.
This may or may not mesh with current efforts in Olympia to shelve the RTID and roll Sound Transit into a broader Puget Sound Transportation Agency. And the odds of all the cities and the county actually getting something done aren't terribly high for a number of reasons. But at least somebody is trying to get something done.
That's more than can be said for Olympia's ability to address overdue roads projects.

I proposed a similar measure for Kent at a recent KBAB (Kent Bicycle Advisory Board) meeting.
Instead of creating "superagencies" let's disband them. I'd get rid of all centralized "rail" projects and free up money for road building and buses in the exurbs.
We need more highways through the exurbs to pull traffic off these streets that were designed for 1/10th the current flow.
