Florida Flashback

You know just for old time's sakes it would have been nice to see a tie in the Florida primary between John McCain and Mitt Romney that required a recount.

About them Dems: Bill Cruchon below is a fan of my puckish desire for electoral chaos in the Sunshine State and makes a remark about Democrats not being able to shout about disenfranchisement.

Well, technically it's the Democratic Party which has been disenfranchising millions of voters in Michigan and Florida; many of whom are blacks, minorities, women, elderly, orphans, transgendered, deceased and possessing multiple personalities and registrations.

The logic is to punish the two states for pushing forward their primaries. This is a bit of a stretch especially considering all of the hard work Democrats in Florida did in order to rig, er, win the state for Algore in 2000.

The Clintons are scoring big in Florida where around 2 million Democrats still showed up to vote. If things are still close come convention time it will be interesting to see how Democrat party bosses and the Obama campaign can look at themselves in the mirror and fight to keep their own footsoldiers off the floor.

You think the McCain-Romney fued has been nasty? You ain't seen nothing.

(Updated) Present to past tense in opening paragraph. Sigh...

1. That would be fun. We wouldn't have all those lies about voters being "disenfranchised" and the other garbage the Democrats made up back in 2000.

2. It's looking close enough, early on.

3. And look at the HUGE vote for Ron Paul!

I mean, if things work out for him, he'll be able to cling to the moron vote of 3% that actually voted for him!

4. What a race. Angry vs Ken Doll vs Mr.911 vs Pastor vs Wing nut. Oh boy. Hold me back. Brokered convention baby.

5. Media outlets call it for McCain...guess there are no hanging chads this time around.

6. Oh I forgot Nader is going to run too. That should really mix things up!

7. Actually, I read they also found 583 more votes for Al Gore from 2000....... just today. :)

8. And Mrs Clinton wins yet another...giving her a terrific boost going into Super Tuesday. Oh My, Oh My, Todo, is it beginning to look like the Republicans are not in Kansas any more? Haha...and even better, it's looking like Sen McCain will have the high honor of losing to her.
As the great one Jackie Gleason used to say 'How sweet it is'.

9. Rather funny in light of DSHS, the jail system and sexual deviants around, the dems are reluctant to dole out punishment of any type.
But if you move your primary, they're all over it.

10. I left out sexual harassment, perjury, taking bribe money, illegal campaign contributions....

11. Don't tase me, Don, but I believe this country is heading leftward and even the Republican electorate realizes that with their probable nomination of John McCain. Going left may be the only way they can stay in the game.

12. Duffer, with all the time you've spent in Munchkin City, you'd think you'd know how to spell Toto.

Obviously, you don't know any more about politics than you do the Wizard of Oz.

Since her campaign of racist bigotry doesn't seem to bother you, Duffer... maybe you ought to get into a 12 step program... soon?

13. #8 you are jumping the gun. There is one more big hurdle called Obama, which is looking like at best a toss-up for her. McCain looks like he is the frontrunner now. After the Republican party tainted by Bush, it seems like an uphill battle for them to keep the White House. People have lost confidence in Republicans thanks to Bush, who in the words of Peggy Noonan - destroyed the Republican Party.

With a Dem majority in Congress, the best goverance would occur with a Republican as POTUS for the balance of power. Just as I believed that a Dem Congress with the President was the best balance for his last two years - better than it was from 2004-06.

14. #12 We'll see who knows about politics, eh? Haha..
Thanks for the correction on the spelling of Dorothy's dog's name; always open to objective correction...especially from the folks of Oz. :)

Me thinks this blog has sustained at least a mild shock in regard to McCain. I just don't understand...you're all such 'experts' with your long bulleted diatribes....Hmmmm :)

15. Recount....not funny at all. I worked for the GOP during the 2000 recount and it was hard, difficult, and painful work. This county should never have to go through that again. If you think is was all a joke, please go somewhere else.

17. David. Lots of things in life are unpleaseant. Somehow we manage to joke about them eventually. Lighten up.
