Everett Herald political reporter Jerry Cornfield has joined the blogosphere. Cornfield regularly outperforms his paper's reputation and thus his blog will provide not only more welcome content on the Snohomish County political scene, but on state government as well.
Recent posts of note:
1) Democrats Marko Liias and Liz Loomis are heading to Olympia to fill the vacated legislative seats formerly held by Brian Sullivan (21st) and John Lovick (44th). Liias prevailed even though Sullivan and new County Councilman Mike Cooper had endorsed a rival.
2) Norma Smith is likely headed to the Legislature to fill Rep. Chris Strow's seat. Readers may recall Smith ran a gallant, underdog campaign in 2002 against Congressman Rick Larsen, but didn't catch fire as a quality candidate until it was too late for the GOP to pump resources into the race. She would be a splendid addition to Olympia.
3) Speaking of Larsen, Doug Roulstone has bowed out of a rematch in 2008.
