Port of Olympia Protest Pictures

The anarchy at the Port of Olympia, and the police response, have been in the news a lot lately. I went down on Saturday to see the latest protest march. You can view pictures and my comments at this post on the My Own Side blog. At the bottom of the post is a link to the full gallery of pictures.

1. Nice. The funniest thing I recall is KTTH, not once but twice, saying the protesters poured cement on the RR tracks. Cement?! I'm sure the train had no problem plowing through the grey powder.

My uncle who worked at the Army Corps of Engineers always said cement is to concrete like flower is to cake.

Take that to the port and smoke it.

2. Your looking at the typical "Evergreener" student or faculty no difference!

3. When I see pictures like this supported by the light media coverage, I have to believe that we as a nation no longer support the basic fundamentals our country was created on. So many laws have been broken, but police/political leadership refuse to take a stand and arrest these common criminals. We should be ashamed to allow these activities to continue. Common decency has been traded for political correctness. No wonder we have lost the respect of the world.

4. This the same kind of theater the yippies were doing in the '60s. Contrary to popular myth the yippies only succeeded in alienating themselves from the rest of the anti war movement of that time.

I'm still a bit confused as to what these idiots are protesting. Aren't these soldiers (and their equipment) returning from Iraq? Weird!

5. 1. I didn't realize Darth Vader was taking part in the "festivities."

2. Do you think that girl could actually SMOKE her bra?

3. The upside down American flag. Always the upside down American flag at these leftist events.

6. The pics were priceless. I particularly liked the one of the guy with a sign that said something about being obligated to resist. That little slime couldn't resist a gnat, much stand up and fightlike a man for what's right, as our troops are doing. I'm an old lady, and I could probably kick his "ahem" pretty handily. They always do their protests where they know it's safe, the police don't want to be accused of brutality, the press loves it. I'd love to see them try it in their beloved Cuba or maybe down in Hugo Land, see how far they get before they're mowed down. They are so clueless.

7. I would be interested in knowing how many of these idiots have ever worked a day in their lives. And do these dirtbags actually expect normal people to respect them or their "principles"? Do our tax dollars actually fund the Evergreen State "College"?

8. Hey look, a moron!

Don't they know that Doctor Doom always loses?

9. These vandals have nothing in common with free speech or peaceful protest. They are wrong place in Olympia. They should be wearing suits and speaking to legislators in respectful voices over at the capitol.

Other than their fellow moonbats, and the elite progressives who use them as their handmaidens, no one else pays attention to these halloween rejects.

10. The guy in the photo appears to have clear mental disorder. Its a burden on society that they closed down the Mental Hospitals - when these lamebrain morons are out there without supervision, indoctrinated with communist propaganda from Evergreen State College.

12. Byron - Excellent work. Best coverage I've seen, anywhere.

13. What's really suprising here is how little these kinds of images get into the news.

14. Johnny

Because this is THEIR kind. But they don't want anyone to know it. (Dem party)

Talk about that Red Headed step child!

15. I forgot to mention, and so now it is a ditto of Jim Miller, but thanks Byron. Between you and Zombie, we get to see first hand the ugly face of Progressive dissent.

There could not be anything more unproductive. Rather than engage on a rational level, these monsters are convinced that disobedience, hatred, screams, vandalism, obstruction, etc. are the path to success. And as soon as any one even so much as questions them peacefully, they scream "brutality." Never mind that the police have been very careful to a fault. Making decisions such as not even engaging them when children are involved, shows superior judgment.

The media won't show the face of these monsters to their readers and viewers, because most in the media, while they lean left, realize that senseless screaming and violence, are not progress towards solutions. It's a sin of omission that more Americans don't know this face of the left.

Thanks to ByronD and Zombie, many more do!

Forward these links to those you know, especially those are are apolitical. Show them the real face of today's Progressive.

16. I have 2 kids who graduated college with a 3rd who just entered. ... I simply do not, cannot understand how the parents of these Evergreen College brats don't know (or that they allow)their kids are taking classes such as Marxist Theory.

I knew every class my kids were enrolled in. I was/am paying and it was their responsibility to discuss each decision with me.

The mindset of these parents is beyond reason as I know it. Rachel Corrie should be their warning for this "college" and the poster child of a dangerous, anti-American institution (gladly accepting those evil American tax dollars, I might add.

Evergreen needs some peaceful, reasoned demonstrators highlighting their communist bent... the problem is ww who would, all have JOBS.

Tough as nails and not willing to put up with any crap.

20. Please show pictures of the downtown Seattle march that ocurred last week. Those young people were in grades 7-12. They were bussed to the demonstration site by school buses, on a school day to attend a demonstration that was organized by their school teachers. You, and I, we paid for that demonstration in ways that will have re-percussions for many generations. Has anyone complained about the use of our tax money? Has anyone complained about our teachers organizing this event for a "school" day? Not in WA state they won't!

Evergreen needs a new class "Towards an International Caliphate -- The Terror War Against Freedom".

Posted by: John Bailo on November 19, 2007 10:53 AM
23. faculty wife brings up something that I think a lot of us didn't know. Was this Seattle School district teachers who organized it? That's just wrong and a total abuse of taxpayer money. Speak up, people, if this was your school district doing this!

Posted by: Michele on November 19, 2007 11:21 AM
24. Faculty wife: I had not heard of this. Call other parents and raise a stink. Organize and go to the school board. That is so far out of line, they need to be called on it. In fact, I think the administrators who allowed it and the teachers involved need to make up a school day without pay. And make mileage reimbursement for use of the buses. This is just WRONG!!!

25. C'mon guys: THIS PHOTO BEGS FOR A CAPTION CONTEST!!

Posted by: John425 on November 19, 2007 12:53 PM
26. Faculty wife, do you have any evidence for your claims?

Ragnar, I agree that Marxism (which of course has nothing to do with the Olympia protests) is stupid, but I feel sorry for your kids if you wouldn't let them learn about it if they wanted to. How else can they form an opinion? Or don't you have confidence in their intellects? And is it really so bad for some Americans to understand a theory that still, unfortunately, plays a major role in many parts of the world?

Posted by: Bruce on November 19, 2007 01:15 PM
27. that still, unfortunately, plays a major role in many parts of the world?

Yep Bruce, just look at these other area with it.
Extreme poor, lack of food, clean water and they can murder you anytime they wish.
Can you say North Korea.

28. "Marxism (which of course has nothing to do with the Olympia protests) is stupid..."

Bruce, I agree...Marxism is stupid. I disagree...that it has nothing to do with these events.

When I see pics of these events, I like to play the "find the url game" in order to see how many socialist propoganda organizations you can discern from a single frame. Marxism/Socialism is a primary tenet and goal for many of the groups supporting these events. Its kind of a fun game until it sinks in. Then...sad...pitiful.

Posted by: k2 on November 19, 2007 03:16 PM
29. Army Medic/Vet, yes, "they" can murder us. Ipso facto, they're relevant to us.

But Army and k2, Marxism and pacifism are different. Some of the same people may support both, but confusing them just sounds like you're combining everything you don't like into a single evil "ism". While you're at it, why not add terrorism, fundamentalism, secular humanism, and Simsism...

30. Ragnar, I agree that Marxism (which of course has nothing to do with the Olympia protests) is stupid, but I feel sorry for your kids if you wouldn't let them learn about it if they wanted
to. How else can they form an opinion?

Oh nonsense. We are talking about 18-22 yr olds who, as it happened, did NOT know what they wanted to "be" when they grew up. At 18, away from home, flush with freedom, it is far too tempting to take 15 hours of golf, ice skating, video gaming 101 and classes for the clueless. Not on my dime.

Once they decided what they wanted out of their education, once they chose a major and decided to stick with it, they had the freedom and maturity to choose their classes.

As it happened, we've graduated 2 philosophy majors, which far better prepared them how to THINK than 'Marxism Made Palatable for Sheep'. One has graduated from law school and is practicing Construction Defect law and the other is in sales earning as a single 25yr old a salary we lived and raised 3 children on.
Granted, when the eldest changed his major (for the 3rd time) TO philosophy I warned him they were not paying philosophers too much these days. But he graduated in 4 yrs and the critical thinking skills he/they learned are serving them both quite well: A site my kid developed back when he was an undergrad

Or don't you have confidence in their intellects?

Gosh, I must have made a left turn and ended up at Horses Ass, where smarmy remarks about children and parentage are the norm... or perhap YOU are the one that's lost.

31. Maybe we'll get lucky next time and the Islamo-terrorists will attack Evergreen State (or maybe Seattle). That might shut up some of those smug little bastards.

32. I finally made myself read the communist manifesto last year. It reads as if it were written by a teenager who is mad at his mother. Notice that's how they act at these protests.
my thought: that's no way to run a country.

Posted by: ljm on November 19, 2007 07:44 PM
33. It's not just impressionable, misguided college students at these "protests". Also there, lurking in the shadows, are their "professors", the ones who teach (indoctrinate) marxism and present it as a fair and equitable system of governance. And....right up front, goading these kids to pitch rocks and bottles, are the anarchists, the real nutcases.....the ones who were evident at NAFTA and continue to rear their ugly, demonic presence at G7 and other trade-related meetings. Just an innocent little protest, huh?

Posted by: Saltherring on November 20, 2007 04:54 AM
34. The liberal protesters always look like they
have not showered in a month. Filthy liberal
PIGS.
