RealClearPolitics's Reid Wilson has paid our own David Postman a high compliment, in a post summarizing the latest in a pending Gregoire v. Rossi rematch, calling him: "irreplaceable" and "Washington State's version of David Yepsen or John DiStaso."
That's high praise in the journalistic community. What should also be said is Postman's blog beats the stuffing out of David Yepsen's. I mean really, if ever a reporter should have a good blog it's David Yepsen; right now.
It's a kind word from Wilson well-deserved.

Posted by: TB on September 29, 2007 08:36 PMI've been over there for a few weeks now taking on all comers, and I've found a few thoughtful commentators and a lot of very angry, bitter, resentful, and even one downright racist poster.
The truth hurts, and when it's presented to them, they howl like stuck pigs!
Honestly, it's often more fun to do battle there even when outnumbured than simply "me too" as one among many.
Would welcome the company, though...

Posted by: jimg on September 30, 2007 11:50 AMI called the moderator a despicable human being then and only go there now if orbus, stefan or an individual blogger suggests there is an article of interest. Even then, I am not impressed. You are wasting your time, piper, on a despicable human being.
And Rs should also know, piper, that Postman is no friend of the Rs. He befriended McGavick for several years when McG was a staffer, but when the race for access to the Ds was at stake when McG ran against Cantwell, Postman folded and tore into McGavick. McG didn't know how to handle the betrayal. Again, I will visit the site if orbus, stefan or another individual blogger suggests there is an article of interest.
Posted by: swatter on October 1, 2007 07:21 AMYou miss my point: I go there for the fun of upsetting apple carts, not to find pincochle partners.
If you want to win the war, take the fight to the enemy, don't simply sit back and consort only with the like-minded.
So far, I haven't been censored at HA; I've been lambasted, called names, ripped into, and laughed at, but I expected no less. What I've also done is raise the blood pressure level of several over there and challenged them on a lot of their uber-leftie orthodoxy.
True, unless you enjoy the fray, which I most certainly do, all you'll experience is frustration. But it's important to not let stuff - the big lie, in Goebbels' phrase - go unchallenged.
As far as Postman and McGavick? Granted, Postman tilts left, but I've seen him skewer Democrats, with Darcy Burner being a recent target.
Candidly? If Mike McGavick couldn't handle "the betrayal" of someone like David Postman, that's not a glowing endorsement of his political skills; if you want a friend in politics, buy a dog.
Net, net, net...I'm not waiting for them to take it us, I'm going there and giving it to them! And having one Hell of a good time doing it!

Posted by: Piper Scott on October 1, 2007 08:45 AMAnd again, you are correct about McGuthrie. It seemed to me, at least, that he was shell-shocked at his old buddy going after him. Before he became a candidate, a phone call behind the scenes was all it took, but when he became a candidate, that phone call became part of the record.
Good lesson for other Rs (or politicians for that matter) to remember. The press may appear to be on your side for a while, but they will eventually turn on you.
