A Gem for the Ages

An apparently earnest and perturbed member of MoveOn.org left one of the great comments of all-time at Sound Politics yesterday, at #19 of this post discussing his group's follies. I reproduce it in full:

I am a member of MOVE ON and since the ad came out our membership has grown by millions. You neo cons have no right to call anyone anything. Baby bush has done nothing but lie, to get us into war, about winning the war,(MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, May 1, 2001), renditions, torture, spying, wiretapping, and signing statements. All you neo con christians with your right to life, all life is sacred, until that person doesn't pray to your god, or doesn't agree with your message of hate, or doesn't vote for your brand of fascism, then KILL them, those lees than humans. You people are the biggest haters since the KKK which you probably are a member and leader. Our country has spent the last six years being run into the ground by your religious fanatical right wing. Liberal crusher, your kind has made us strong.

I could say more, but why trample on such glory?

1. Rasmussen finds that there are a lot of people that disagree that the ad was a boon to MoveOn:

3. What? No mention of plastic turkeys? How can a rant like that be complete without mentioning Bushitler's greatest deception?

4. The made up "facts" aside, the post was amusing as it condensed the nutroots talking points into a single, raving paragraph.

What moveon and their ranting minions don't understand is that most Americans, in spite of their misgivings about Bush, do not like extremism. The nutroots, puffed up with poll numbers and a favorable election result have deluded themselves into believing most Americans agree with their far left outlook.

5. That was indeed a classic. BDS at the point where commitment to a mental institution is warranted. Even Bruce was speechless and that is hard to do.

But isn't that what the next election is all about? Clinton v. any of the R candidates?

7. Hey SJ, so Petraeus deserves a better boss. Perhaps the lapdogs of move-on (Pelosi and Reid) could quit pretending to be the boss and get out of the way.
Dems have a pi$$ poor rating in military successes you know.

8. Get the podcast of Dennis Miller's radio show for yesterday 9/24.

I caught it during lunch and blew gatorade out my nose listening to them describe the typical moonbat in all of our live's.

Last week I came face to face with one who is a former friend- he didn't know a single damn local issue but he knew Republican BAD and Democrat GOOD and he could sure recite the left wing talking points.

He's been unemployed for over a year- and that is Bush's fault too because the economy sucks in his opinion. All of the jobs must have been taken by the Bible beaters the week he went to Burning Man.

11. I did ask this liberal goofball--since he mentioned the KKK in his rant-- if he was in support of Democrat Senator and Ex-KKK member Robert Byrd's membership in the DNC.

He hasn't gotten back to me on that, yet.

15. Its rather interesting to see the Soros bought and paid for moveon.org do what it does. These people are clearly deranged with their hatred for America. But then again, all communists hate America.....it stands for everything they aren't. So far to date, Soros spent over 100 million trying to influence elections thru 507's and funding other so called non-profits. Perhaps eliminating tax write off for non-profits will temper the expenditure of this vast amount of cash being spent on politics. It makes you wonder what Soros expects for all of the money he spends...there is an unannounced payback to be expected when and if the former co-president gets elected in her own right. One avowed marxist supporting another....heaven help this country if this happens. There could be a lot of blood letting if communists try to take away our rights in this Republic. We true Americans need to keep our powder dry.

16. Dinesh: You would be referring to Pelosi getting a minumum wage waiver to a fish company Whoops I forgot she is a Dem. Then you must mean the Congressman who had 70,000 in his freezer and is still serving? Doh!! another Dem. I know! the senator who was a KKK leader, Oopsie! another Dem. Wait, Wait I got it now, the senator who got drunk wrecked his car and killed his girlfriend, Dagnabit, another Dem. Oh wait he must be referring to Craig who is resigning. I see a pattern here. The Republicans throw out the garbage while the Dems recycle.

18. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/23_approve_of_moveon_org_petraeus_ad_58_disapprove

There you have it, Bruce, dinesh, Cato and Giffy. You are in the minority on this issue in the whole USA; anyways, as per the Rasmussen Reports. That definitely puts you where you belong- on the left wing fringes.

I don't see why you can't go against the ad, which was not an issue ad but an ad against a great man who is a soldier.

Even your old stooge- you know, the general that provides excellent sound bites on Maher, Kos, etc. etc.- couldn't find anything bad to say about Petraeus. What right do you?

Posted by: swatter on September 25, 2007 12:49 PM
19. "I could say more"

Which would require reflecting on the truth of much of what was said in the rant. Do you dismiss those truths because of some of the hyperbole? Then you have examples aplenty from so many other postings made on either side of the debates that have raged on here and elsewhere.

Posted by: Daniel K on September 25, 2007 01:00 PM
20. I just don't see how you lefties don't see the big issue with the moveon ad. You don't have anything against Petraeus but you allow the ad to stand. Denounce it and then I will moveon (pun intended).

21. 1. Obviusly, we need to expand the health care system and include more people as Mr. Meyers probably can't afford the apropriate medication.

2. Assuming Mr. Meyers is capable of any lucid thought - exactly what is a neocon Christian. Every group is going to have their share of extreme cases and whack jobs, but I have found more intolerance and bigotry among the supposedly diversity loving tolerant secular progressive types. No, that is not a scientific survey, just my personal experience. They, in my opinion, tend to demean, demonize and dispise those that don't swallow 100% the party line. I guess Cindy Sheehan will run against Speaker Pelosi and the comments against Rep. Baird for his opinions.

3. Many on the left or secular prgreesives, in my opinion tend to run on a steady diet of hate. Goodness, is their any joy in your bleek world?

25. the ad was absurd and in bad taste. not surprising for american politics these days.

the energy spent on denouncing moveon.org allows republicans and others who find the ad distasteful to change the subject and distract themselves and others from focusing on the multitude of issues created by this horribly mismanaged war and the incompetent civilian administration prosecuting it.

what's that saying about fiddling while rome burns.....

Posted by: dinesh on September 25, 2007 04:02 PM
26. Dinesh--no, the point of focusing on the moveon ad is to show the mainstream of the country just what the far left is really like and to show them how much of the Democrat Party they control--note the "Willing suspension of disbelief" statement that Clinton made and the number of Democrats that refused to condemn the ad--normally you wouldn't think that would be such a difficult thing to do, but moveon has so much influence on the Democrats and many of the Dems are afraid of them.

THAT was the point. And I believe it is a VERY important point to make. You may disagree with that and that is your perogative.

27. " the ad was absurd and in bad taste. not surprising for american politics these days."

That's "American." You know... with a capitol A?

That said, as bad as the moveon ad was, the sad truth of the matter is that, most likely, we ain't seen nuthin' yet.

28. "All you neo con christians with your right to life, all life is sacred,"

If all life isn't sacred how come all these moveon screwballs are so obsessed with the casualty count in Iraq? Why get so worked up? Just another life down the tube, so what?

This Meyers dinkus is a 21st century proto-liberal. So full o piss and bile that he can't even capitalize properly. I can see him at the keyboard now, typing furiously with two fingers, spittle running down his chin.

While the mullahs in Iran are executing gays, dishing out female castration and fabricating atomic weapons, this guy's biggest worry is "neo-cons" and Christians. Funny how after that little tirade @ 19 he's calling "neo-cons" hateful. Nothing like a little hubris to top off the day.

29. Bill H has it @ 26. Dinesh wants badly for this to be about conservatives focusing on MoveOn.org. True, we bring this issue to light. But the point is to demonstrate what the left has descended to in this country, and then we'll get back to rational and mostly civil debates. Eric Earling, the blogger of this post, blogs about many topics and evokes many rational discussions. To say that he is distracted by MoveOn.org is a distraction in and of itself.

The few moderates on the left, and the Democrats who have to smile and grit their teeth, are frightened by what Soros hath wrought. This is the kind of blatant anti-American nutiness that doesn't sit well with the average Joe. And even the Average Joe in Seattle. Most people have very little political awareness, but you can bet that they'll remember that some Leftwing Nut group ran an ad bashing a general before he even had a chance to speak. And they will probably also remember that folks who calls themselves friends of free speech, entertained a madman at a previously respectable US university.

The truth is that Dinesh and the other Left posters here sure want this to be only about conservative distraction, because they know that if the Nut Left keeps this behavior up (which they most likely will) that they will be doomed next fall when all of this stuff gets replayed as ads. Ads reminding people of what the Left, and the Democrats who tacitly acknowledge this behavior, really stand for.

Wow! Bush gave the Mission Accomplished speech, not only before the war started, but BEFORE 9/11?!?!?

Must have been one of those pesky time warps. They get you every time.
