The Stranger & GOP operatives share a bond

The post immediately below this one discusses news of a Democrats endorsing a major Republican candidate for local office. Joel Connelly speculated Jenny Durkan's name on that list would be cause for concern here at the lovely confines of Sound Politics. Speaking solely for myself, no. Good for Satterberg for having a professional reputation that draws prominent Republicans and Democrats alike to his campaign.

But speaking of Connelly, some staff at the Stranger are not so pleased with him (see here and here). Long story short, Erica Barnett and Josh Feit feel quite strongly they've been unfairly maligned by Connelly, in no small part because of a lack of due diligence and proper research on Joel's part.

Without commenting in the least on the merits of either side in a somewhat nuanced dispute, I can say without fear of contradiction there are dozens of current and former Republican staffers who have this to say to the aggrieved folks at the Stranger:

"WELCOME TO THE CLUB!"

1. Let's see if I'm getting this. Some staff at The Stranger, which nobody reads, are unhappy with a columnist at the P-I that nobody takes seriously. Talk about your bottom stories.
