Some heavy issues on the blog as of late. But football season is upon us. Nothing could go wrong there, right? Well, maybe not:
"Church Deacon, OU Fan Tears Scrotum Of UT Fan In Bar Fight."
Ouch. I mean, OUCH!!!!! Gives new meaning to the "college football is a religion" notion in some parts of the country. And a reminder that in those necks of the woods the emotions that run high between rivals make arguments about politics and religion look like a toddler's birthday party. I can attest from knowing a few fervent University of Texas fans that they'd be happy to return the above favor to the Oklahoma supporting deacon. And those are the nice ones.
Which reminds, me if the rumors I hear are true about Jones Soda at Qwest Field being not so good the Seahawks may have budding riot on their hands. First they made the abominable decision to switch to almost exclusively Budweiser products in the land of mircrobrews (why anger the beer drinkers? They're a huge cash-cow for the concession revenues.). Now the pop sucks too?
Say it ain't so.
Reader input on what's currently being served at Qwest would be most welcome.

On the concourse all along that side of the field there used to be about a dozen different beer options, including an assortment of macro and microbrew products of all kinds. Now there's largely three (all Bud products), and if you hunt real hard among the 10+ concession outlets along there you might find a 4th some game days.
I'm all for bringing back Oly and Rainier (if they existed anymore). At least there would be more choices!
Mind you, I don't even throw down cold ones anymore. But I'm sympathetic to the brotherhood Bill has created in the stands. They deserve choices for their overpriced, watered-down swill!
