The waitress whose defamatory and initially anonymous account of my family's visit to her restaurant was posted on some blogs has issued a retraction:
The comments made on Blatherwatch and Meetthestress about Mr. Sharkansky and his family are largely untrue and in bad taste. As a food service worker and a mother it was an extremely poor decision on my part to tell this story to someone who put it on the web. I am so sorry for any pain or inconvienience I caused the Sharkansky family and I wish only for this incident to be put behind everyone involved.I accept her apology and retraction and have deleted my earlier post on this incident.
