Good news from the County Council

King County Councilmembers Reagan Dunn and Jane Hague have introduced emergency legislation to authorize the Elections office to use the state's statistical sampling procedure for verifying initiative signatures.

The proposed ordinance is on the agenda for next Monday's Council meeting. Independent of I-25, the proposal apparently has bipartisan support on the Council as well as from the Executive and the Elections office. Hopefully it will be implemented in time for Elections to use it for I-25 so they can promptly forward I-25 to the Council for deliberation, save the taxpayers money, and let the Elections staff focus on the Primary.

1. Congratulations, Shark. Looks like your pinging had some effect. Too bad it took two councilmembers to initiate it. It should have been requested at the start.
