Darcy Burner's erstwhile cheerleaders at The Stranger are now pouring cold water on Burner's assertion that she has a better chance of defeating Congressman Dave Reichert than does the disgruntled former Republican legislator who is now challenging Burner in the Democrat primary.

Posted by: Army Medic/Vet on July 20, 2007 12:55 PMWow, he wrote a small column for them for like a month in 2005. I know, I read it. It was right next to the sex ad's.
I fail to see why this explains why he gives a damn what they think.
Seriously? Isn't it self-evidently obvious? He used to work for them. What more is there to know?
Posted by: pudge on July 20, 2007 01:26 PMI suspect that The Stranger's doubts about Burner's competitiveness probably reflect what many of her other supporters from 2006 are also thinking.
Posted by: Stefan Sharkansky on July 20, 2007 01:30 PMLook at the House? Ridiculous right? This is what people voted for? A bunch of crazies who are willing to sell us out to Al Qaeda and jam corn syrup down our throats?
Hopefully the general trend towards sanity will resume itself and the Republicans will get back in charge in 2008.
Posted by: John Bailo on July 20, 2007 04:04 PMThere's more to it than that, but will suffice to say that anyone who supports Burner - should have their judgment seriously questioned.
Posted by: KS on July 20, 2007 06:55 PMGee, I remember someone saying the same thing about Patty Murray. Murray came out sympathetic to Osama Bin Laden, voted for amnesty, and recently voted against the John Doe ammendment and she seems to have no problem getting re-elected. I try to remain optimistic, but God help us.
Posted by: NWDenizen on July 21, 2007 07:45 AMDarcy ought to do another sechsey youtube for Obama.
Two empty suits.... hey, maybe she could be his VP candidate? Or, maybe his secretary?
But two empty suits running together?
It's a natural!
Posted by: Hinton on July 21, 2007 08:34 AMShe's done nothing in the community to improve her padding on her resumé. No community service. No examples of providing leadership. No experience. Nothing but a bunch of anti-Bush screetching that is apparently garnering donations from nutroots outside the 8th District.
If I were Reichert, I would hope and pray that I was running against Burner again. If she makes it through the primary, there's a good chance that she's going to suck money away from other races around the country and still manage to lose the election.
