Stick a fork in her

Darcy Burner's erstwhile cheerleaders at The Stranger are now pouring cold water on Burner's assertion that she has a better chance of defeating Congressman Dave Reichert than does the disgruntled former Republican legislator who is now challenging Burner in the Democrat primary.

1. Darcy's quickly running out of R's to run against. Maybe now she'll have the time to actually finish something. Law school would be a good place to start.

2. Since when does SP care what the Stranger thinks? SP is starting to show feelings of inadequacy.

Wow, he wrote a small column for them for like a month in 2005. I know, I read it. It was right next to the sex ad's.

I fail to see why this explains why he gives a damn what they think.

6. Cato ... he used to work for them and you fail to see why he cares about them ... ?

Seriously? Isn't it self-evidently obvious? He used to work for them. What more is there to know?

7. Cato -- I'm not sure why you care what I think, but the sheer number of your comments on this blog indicates that you probably do care what I think.

I suspect that The Stranger's doubts about Burner's competitiveness probably reflect what many of her other supporters from 2006 are also thinking.

8. The Stranger is left wing, but at least they're honest about it. I respect that more than the dailies who feign objectivity.

9. Burner is such an airhead to compare her congressional race vote total to that of Tom's state race and to claim that she is more popular. Same thing can be said of Cato who sees Shark's astute observation as if it is evidence of Shark's inadequacy.

10.
Of what great benefit to our nation is a Democratic majority?

Look at the House? Ridiculous right? This is what people voted for? A bunch of crazies who are willing to sell us out to Al Qaeda and jam corn syrup down our throats?

Hopefully the general trend towards sanity will resume itself and the Republicans will get back in charge in 2008.

11. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out she's an empty suited airhead and the secular progressive choice - i.e. she's become a laughing stock who stands for nothing noble and brave.

There's more to it than that, but will suffice to say that anyone who supports Burner - should have their judgment seriously questioned.

12. I think this comment in the Slog thread basically says it all for the current musings of The Stranger staff.

13. "...empty suited airhead..."

Gee, I remember someone saying the same thing about Patty Murray. Murray came out sympathetic to Osama Bin Laden, voted for amnesty, and recently voted against the John Doe ammendment and she seems to have no problem getting re-elected. I try to remain optimistic, but God help us.

14. That Patty is a well-packaged moron doesn't make her any the less a moron.

Darcy ought to do another sechsey youtube for Obama.

Two empty suits.... hey, maybe she could be his VP candidate? Or, maybe his secretary?

But two empty suits running together?

It's a natural!

15. darcy, champion of the entitlement (hers) won't go easy. She knows this seat belongs to her (much as Al Bore and J. Flipper Kerry feel about 2000 and 2004) because her Koolaid chorus told her so in a neverending loop of adulation. It is unimaginable to her that she wasn't enthroned last time and that she shouldn't be enthroned next time. When the adoration chorus goes home and reality finally smacks darcy on the bottom her well padded Mao suit the fallout of her crumbling will be ugly to behold.

16. Why would someone who didn't vote for Marcy-Darcy in the last election vote for her this time?

She's done nothing in the community to improve her padding on her resumé. No community service. No examples of providing leadership. No experience. Nothing but a bunch of anti-Bush screetching that is apparently garnering donations from nutroots outside the 8th District.

If I were Reichert, I would hope and pray that I was running against Burner again. If she makes it through the primary, there's a good chance that she's going to suck money away from other races around the country and still manage to lose the election.

17. Burner is like a mosquito; not really much good for anything except buzzing around until someone swats her good. That woman couldn't find her own ass with a flashlight and a mirror. Look up the word incompetence in the dictonary and next to it will be a picture of this worthless, unqualified "candidate". 'Nuff said.
