King County Elections gets tough on crime

Australian shepherd-terrier mix Duncan M. McDonald has finally been removed from the voter rolls.

It is good news that King County Elections is taking action to defend the integrity of the voter rolls:

[Elections spokeswoman Bobbie] Egan said department procedures are being reviewed to allow for speedier action "whenever fraudulent activity is apparent."
Maybe this means they'll finally take speedy action about the Fatal Pends.

UPDATE: Today's Mallard Fillmore gets it

1. "apparent"? Like when people receive two ballots and vote two ballots???? (as shown by Stefan here on this blog.)

2. Well, when most of the illegal votes break your way and are legally counted, why would you want to do anything to stop that process?

The left damned sure wouldn't allow a little thing like the integrity of the system to get in the way of that.

3. In other news, a Seattle area dentist was charged today with income tax evasion after declaring his dog as an employee and deducting wages totaling over $150,000. The dentist declared that his intention had been to expose that it was possible to defraud the government by intentionally filing fraudulent statements. He said that the detection of his fraud and subsequent prosecution were unexpected consequences of his civil disobedience. "If I had known I might get caught, I wouldn't have done it," he said. "I was performing a public service; I shouldn't be prosecuted."

4. Life in Dimmsville, punish the innocent and reward the guilty.

Opps, sorry for the typo, that D is so close to the S.

5. Hey, they could have prosecuted the poor dog instead of its owner for her outrageous efforts expose flaws in the Demorats political machine... I mean elections process. I wouldn't put anything past these clowns in King County.

6. "If I had known I might get caught, I wouldn't have done it," he said.

Doesn't work, Scott. She tried to get caught. Get it? That's the whole effin' point.

7. ScottD,

The difference is the dentist used the dog as a "regular person"; Duncan the dog never voted.

A better analogy would be:

In other news, a Seattle area dentist was charged today with income tax evasion after declaring his dog as an employee but not deducting any expenses or declaring any hours for the employee.

Bit different, don't you think?

The fact is that the KCREALS acts like they're shocked - SHOCKED! - that such things happen. And continue to look the other way related to hundreds of much more serious offenses. Not just fraudulent registrations but actual fraudulent votes.

8. Amen to the Fillmore cartoon! Doesn't King county get it? I think they are punishing this woman more for outing them and the lax rules that allow dog registration than anything else.

9. ScottD, the woman marked the ballot so as not to be counted. She tried NOT to have the ballot counted, while showing KC what could (and undoubtedly has) happen with less honest people.

How come KC hasn't clamped down the same way with others who HAVE voted dead and double?

10. She registered the dog as a Republican knowing full well that they'd take a closer look because of it. Had she registered the dog as a Democrat- she wouldn't have had this problem.

11. Michelle:

What she has demonstrated is that if you attempt to create a fraudulent registration, there is a chance you will get caught. Soon she will demonstrate that if you get caught submitting fraudulent documents, there is a chance you will get prosecuted. Sounds fair to me.

12. scottd, she embarrassed some people at KC who needed to be embarrassed. That's what really happened here. You just don't want to admit it.

13. MJC: The dog will absolutely not be prosecuted. Everyone is too afraid of PETA to do that.

14. I bet Dr. King is rolling over in his grave...having to put up with this crap from the here after, in his namesake County. I bet if Dr. King could, he would change King County back to honor Rufus King the first openly gay...err... I mean "Dandy"... Vice President of the United States.

15. No offense to the clever dog-registering lady, but HERE's a phony application approval we should really be concerned about: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/323361_bogusnukes12.html

16. It looks like the Seattle Times quit running the Mallard Fillmore strip. And that was obviously one I loved. I guess it's e-mail time

I bet Darcy is busy registering illegal aliens (and their pets) right now.
