Mrs. Gregoire, through her proxies at the state Democrat party, criticized private citizen Dino Rossi1 for using 501(c)(4) organization Forward Washington for the perfectly legal purpose of non-partisan issue advocacy. e.g. the Washington Idea Bank.
What Gregoire's desperate, meritless complaint accomplishes is to remind voters that she's scared witless about Dino Rossi's possible future candidacy, and that the Washington Idea Bank is generating more good ideas than the Gregoire administration.
Here's an idea: why doesn't someone file a PDC complaint and ask that Postman's blog be considered a political campaign? He's always willing to exonerate the Dems (i.e. no evidence of wrongdoing) but is constantly scandal-mongering when it comes to the GOP.
She ran her whole campaign on "I have never taxed the citizens of this state", and chastised Rossi for voting FOR the 5 cent gas tax.
WOW...Really
She promised in the last session to bring immediate action on the massive property tax hikes in this state.
WOW...Really, did we all miss seeing that relief?
She is rubberstamping every tax hike and fee hike her gang of thieves can muster.
She raised the spending in this state by 33%
She will squander the surplus Billions in this year alone
She is a disaster of spending in this state.
Run Rossi Run!
Posted by: GS on June 26, 2007 12:36 AMThis is going to be the easiest campaign ever. Rossi is an affable guy. Gregoire evokes images and mannerisms of Hillary Clinton. All Rossi has to do is point out all of Gregoire's gaffes and flip-flops and remain his good natured self. Voters will elect him both for his unflappable and all-American image, as well as for their willingness to right the wrong created by King County incompetence.
And that's the reason why the Democrats in the Legislature are passing any and every bill as fast as they can like kids who've snuck alcohol out of their parent's liquor cabinet. They know it is all going to end soon.
Gregoire is a one-termer.

Posted by: Huh? on June 26, 2007 06:01 AMPerhaps they should spend more time and effort on their own PDC filings and avert blowing the money of their hard-working donors for fines instead of the political work they're supposed to be doing.
Whenever the Democrats complain about somebody else's finances, don't fall for the smokescreen and check theirs. What are they hiding?
Democrats Violate Law For Second Time
Posted by: When I think of PDC Police, I think of (??) Democrats. on June 26, 2007 07:35 AMDino Rossi is the only governor candidate I have ever seen in U.S. history who lost and was significantly more popular than the winner. His popularity has not significantly waned. Meanwhile most people either don't know who McKay is, don't know what he stands for, or don't like what he stands for.
Yeah, sure, it makes perfect sense to say McKay is a better candidate that Dino.
Huh?

Seems like another case of using a lawsuit to silence your detractors.
Dems are always the first to go after your Constitutional rights if they don't like the message. Remember the anti intiative bills that were introduced last year? They would've required you to go to re-education classes run by the state (I mean "training"), then required you to put your name and address on the back of every petition which is public record....maybe make you post a sign on your house...maybe the Yellow Star of David for example. Then make you get a license to practice your constitutional rights. Then, issue a state identification maybe make you wear a Yellow Star of David on your clothes...all in the name of preserving democracy.
Democrats...no right is safe and no constitution is above being over-run and no initiative is above being overturned....but look how many "emergencies" we have with them in charge!
Posted by: drw on June 26, 2007 08:56 AMThe whole complaint is without merit and the DemoCraps haven't cited any proof that money was transferred from Rossi's '08 committee. The fact the man makes presentations does not make him a candidate. Fraudoire knows her days are numbered and I think she is not at all pleased that Rossi has not gone quietly into the night and that the voters still haven't forgotten how she got into office.
Now for the $0.20 question--when the PDC rules that the complaint is groundless, do you think the media will give it the same level of coverage as this initial article?
Posted by: Burdabee on June 26, 2007 09:10 AMI mean, in the 1930s I guess it was because there were no jobs.
But now, everyone has a job -- so it's in everyone's interest to cut taxes.
Everyone should be Republican. It's self serving.
Could some Democrat tell me specifically what's in it for them?
