A preview of Mrs. Gregoire's 2008 campaign

Mrs. Gregoire is in full-bore campaign mode, reports the AP's David Ammons: "Eager Gregoire Jump-Starting '08 Re-Election Bid". Yet even after sending out "a four-page fundraising letter this month" and holding a "splashy campaign event in Seattle this week" which raised $250K, we are told that:

Gregoire isn't ready to talk about the campaign, says spokeswoman Holly Armstrong, because she isn't ready to shift into candidate mode or talk strategy yet.
Yeah, whatever. Candidate mode or not, Ammons goes on to report that "Gregoire tried out some campaign themes at her Seattle '08 debut":
Gregoire crows about "how far we have come in 21/2 years" with Democrats expanding health coverage, improving schools, protecting the environment, creating jobs and more.
All Gregoire has done is give more of other people's money to programs that promise to deliver such results (and have historically failed to meet expectations). The 2008 campaign should be about the results of her expansion of government spending.

1. She is a one timer just like Ray.

2. Jack in the Box governor: hides in a box, no where to be found till a campaign opportunity presents itself then she pops up looking like a clown.

3. All anything Rossi, or any other Republican, needs to do to win is contact me ad be willing to Gregoire
s corruption that I can prove. they won't because they are more interested in the status quo than doing what is right or winning.

4. "All Gregoire has done..."

That sounds more like the rantings of a narrow-minded partisan than a serious attempt to assess a candidate's record, strengths, weaknesses, and prospects.

5. don't forget what has happened with early release of felons under her watch. Which begs the question: are our streets safer after two and a half years of Gregoire?

6. Unsustainable budgets, union giveaways, felon early releases, massive expansion of government, pay raises for her cronies...the list goes on. There should be plenty to campaign on for her opposition.

7. A narrow-minded partisan, maybe Christine can use that as her campaign slogan. Or how about, "More legislative emergencies than any other time in State History". Then there is always "Sure I created a rainy day fund because my own office of financial management says in 2 years we will be awash in red ink." Closely followed by an old Arkansas favorite "SEIU pig pig pig, SEIU pig pig".

8. Ho ho ho. How the righties foam! In a box? Gregoire is out with unscreened crowds all the time, speaking without notes, answering questions. Her staff has discovered this largely unknown talent she has for wowing crowds. There will be no warm Dino/cold Christine battle in 08. It will be an accessable, smart Governor presiding over a state with a balanced budget (it only took 6 weeks for the righties unsustainable label to be proven false this time), record low unemployment, record accessiblity to college, improved health care for kids. Dino? IF he runs, all Dino will be able to offer is the same stories of his childhood which are no longer new and the fact he has done nothing for anyone but himself over the past four years. His policy proposals: the 06 election showed just how out of touch with the state the righties have become.

9. Seanod100 (#5),
"don't forget what has happened with early release of felons under her watch."

She's just looking to increase her vote total for 2008!

10. People like this always take credit for the things that they never do.

She's not worried however, because she has the King County Election department in her hip pocket.

Count em as many times as you have to to get the outcome you want.

I want us all at all of her campaign speeches with "Re-elect Rossi" Signs and bumper stickers.

That will keep the movement alive.

We need some fiscal responsibility in Olympia NOW!

11. Most of the things that Gregoire is touting as her accomplishments would have happened no matter what. What did she do to increase the job market in the state? Is she taking credit for Boeing sales, Microsoft, Starbucks, etc? What did she do to improve education except reward the WEA with more money? What did she do to decrease spending by state government? What did she do to decrease taxes?
She's done nothing that would help most of the citizens in the state and, in fact, most of what she has done has not helped at all. The only thing that has saved her tush is the fact that the economy has been good during her term & she is reaping the benefits of that.

12. If Rossi runs, or the WSRP puts forth an equally credible challenger, this will be one of the easier races in WA gubernatorial history. Gregoire has laid hundreds of rhetorical traps for herself. All a credible challenger need do is repeat her own verbal follies back to her, and the race will pretty much be in the bag. And that's before even looking at the massive collectivist shift she has inflicted on this state.

A great start would be to recite back her pledge not to raise taxes from her 2004 campaign. Or maybe "Those talk show radios."

Gregoire tries to keep her mouth shut, because her foot ends up in there whenever she opens it up.

14. It's tough to greet the people during her 75 yard commute in a WSP patrol car. Go Green Girl!

15. Gregoire's Fill o Trough budget bought a bunch of votes for 2008.
She is a teflon pan that is hoping the budget payouts can get her re-elected.
It is Grid locke's old strategy, and the D's strategy for 20 plus years now.
All the D's stand for is feeding the union ducks.
If you want a raise just cause, vote for the D's,the check will be in the mail.
Just be prepared to pay 10 bucks for a cornish game hen.

16. Hey Bruce

Her is some partisan bitching for you...

Ask your queen how that Viaduct is holding up? It was suppose to fall years ago, except another one of her famous "emergencies" is holding it up.

17. Yeh and have Gregoire put back up her 2004 campaign website chastising Rossi for voting yes on a 5 cent gas tax hike, and mentioning that she had never raised taxes on the citizens of this state.

That alone will make great 30 second TV screen shots.

18. #12. Easy for Rossi? Seems that's what the WSRP said that about the Cantwell Senate race. How's Senator Nethercutt doing? In 08, the result will be the same.

20. And don't forget she forced 30,000 state employees, of which I am one, to join the union, pay the thugs and goons a fee or be fired. And those 30,000 have relatives and friends voting for her opponent.

21. You all know Christine's favorite saying, she make all of her decisions based on what's in the best interest "Of the Unions, By the Unions and For the Unions". She has a similar sayings for the Tribes and Trial Lawyers it just depends on who she is pandering to at the moment.

22. Tacoma says "Easy for Rossi? Seems that's what the WSRP said that about the Cantwell Senate race. How's Senator Nethercutt doing?"

Nethercutt never ran against Cantwell. Cantwell ousted Gorton in 2000 and then won against McGavick in 2006. Nethercutt ran against Murray.

23. Thanks for reminding me.
I needed to send in the contribution, but forgot until this.

24. Not to worry! Your union is already fully funding Christines campaign...you are only paying for her premium brand of Gin with your personal donation.

25. OOOOHHH! Maybe if we don't talk about it, people will forget to send in their campaign donations!

Unreal...
