I-25: 5 days left to qualify (or not)

Wow.

In the 24 hours since I posted yesterday's update, more than 30 readers stepped up and donated over $3,000 online. Others e-mailed to say they were sending checks. A big thank you to all. Over 200 people have donated to the I-25 campaign to date. That sort of grassroots response gets the attention of the political establishment, from office holders to party leaders to major donors, and should help propel the initiative to passage -- if it qualifies.

I-25 is on the verge of having enough funds to pay for all the signatures it needs to qualify. Just $7,000 more is needed in the next few days. If you want fair elections in King County, but haven't donated yet, please donate today. Your donation could mean the difference between a historic grassroots victory for clean and fair elections, and the dreary alternative.

1. Just wondering what you folks plan on doing if I-25 passes and people elect a liberal Democrat to the office?

2. To be honest, Michael, I'm not concerned about the Elections Director's personal political beliefs as long as they administer elections fairly, accurately, honestly, transparently and lawfully.
