... to Bruce Ramsey for today's column: "Rossi ponders the future -- his own, and the state's"

1. While the Democrats stole the last election and the court allowed them to do so, Rossi should hav won in a land slide, but his campaign was unwilling to expose the criminal conduct of Gregoire and members of the state supreme court.

2. If we want the republicans to take back a majority we need a new platform.
The neo conservative platform was never going to get a majority here in Washington.
Rossi's plat form never stood far enough apart from the neo conservative platform.

Had he made more of a distinction between his platform, and a neo conservative platform, he would have won by a fair majority.
Rossi or whom ever runs needs to reach out to fiscal conservative /Morally liberal and adopt a platform that will get their votes.

The neo cons have run their coarse.
Now they are just plain running.

I need checks and balances to even out the political landscape.

Another neo conservative platform will not git R done.
Get with it R's

3. Bulldog, what is this "neo conservative platform" you are referring to? Certainly, the WSRP platform is not neo conservative, by any stretch of the imagination.

Perhaps you don't know what "neo conservative" means ... ? Hint: neo conservatives are not social conservatives. Neo conservatives don't care about abortion or gay marriage. Neo conservatives trace their social policy roots to liberalism.

4.
My thought is that Dino Rossi will not have run in 2008.

Washington will be so fed up of mismanagement by the Gregoire-Sims-Nichols troika they will carry Rossi into office and appoint him Emperor for a few years to clean up the mess!

5. I have been getting rumblings of these campaign issues for the upcoming elections from Rs running in partisan races and Rs running in nonpartisan. I was shocked and tickled pick that the Rs are stepping up in front of the runaway freight train (er, Sound Transit) and out of control spending of the current governments.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

And the timing of the speech versus the timing of the new Rs indicates that Rossi had a hand in it.

Lots of work ahead to get my candidates up to speed on spending and misplaced priorities.

6. Dino needs the following public mantra:

"I am not George W. Bush."

Any Republican running for dog catcher on up will need this one repeated about 10 billion times to get elected. The stench emanating from the White House will doom vast numbers of non-comatose Republicans next election.

7. THe state budget is a DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN! I would love to see a REP win the GOV slot, but why shouldn't we let the D's stew in their own juices? Four years from now? WOW are we going to be TAXED to death!!

Too bad low income families affected by the regressive tax systems employed by this state's Democrats are the ones most affected by another 4 years of D's.

10. Old Faithful,
Be careful. The Dems are likely to point that out (regressive sales tax) and use their irresponsible budgeting as a reason to bring up a state income tax (AGAIN!).

11. Pudge,

Criticism's of neo conservative
"Neo-conservatism has come in for criticism by some from other strands of the conservative movement. The rather disparagingly dubbed "paleo-conservatives" criticise neoconservatives for being too liberal and too internationalist"
"These neocons have taken over the conservative wing of the Republican party. And they have succeeded in doing so to the degree that the word 'conservative' is now being applied to individuals and ideas that are, in fact, liberal (in the leftist sense), socialist, and totally undeserving of the conservative label," he complained.[5]

>A platform I am not sure the R's have the underwearwithall to adopt..>

D's run on any platform with payouts, and win because the R's scare the hell out of everybody..again...>

Posted by: Publicbulldog on June 13, 2007 02:37 PM
12. Bulldog: your lack of grammatical correctness makes your post confusing to me. But the point still stands: your analysis of the WSRP as having a "neo conservative" platform makes no actual sense.

13. 'Quitter rossi'... What more really needs to be said?

He sold out or was bought out by the dins, don't know which, if either, but in any case it doesn't matter.

I don't vote for quitters or sellouts. Period.

republican / conservative my bleedin arse.

Yes, I am thoroughly disgusted with the man.

14. Pudge,

Are you trying to say that white house policy favors letting Gays have rights, allowing medical marijuana and single parenting..

Because that would be liberal.
Because they arent standing for those issues,
they cant possibly be liberal and are definately neo conservative in internationl policy sense, but still a neo conservative none the less.
My assessment and prediction stands, bottom line not liberal enough ,not fiscally conservative to get a win in 2008 ...
D's for another 4 years in the State and D's take the White House.
Eyman initiatives will be the only check and balance we will have.

Posted by: Publicbulldog on June 13, 2007 04:03 PM
15. Liberal!
They got 1000 or more medical marijuana patients
in Federal prison, fight Gay rights, they just caught Kavorkian in a run down between Oregon and Idaho, the supreme court just allowed State criminal rights to be usurped, so we could build international prisons with criminal jurisdiction everywhere.and you think they are not conservative enough to be called Neo-cons...
Wow..
We have different views of what neo-conservative means.
Where are these guys liberal.
I must have missed that ephisode of 60 minutes.

18. The Republicans had a tremendous opportunity to expose the crooked King County Elections Dept. and failed miserably to even come up with a case, after all the evidence of fraud and general wrongdoing.

Gregoire turned out to be a dyed in the wool leftist Homocrat, and a damn poor Catholic.

If the Republicans can't turn all of that into the keys to the Governor's Mansion, then they truly deserve to roll in their own poop.

If I were a member of the Republican Party, I would be rioting for a change in party leadership. In this State the Homocrats cut the nuts off the Republican party long ago, and proudly march through the streets with their bounty in hand.

Shameful.

19. IV: it is, of course, not that simple. There likely existed no possible case to overturn this election, with the evidence that we know about. We had to either show that KC fixed the election (which there's no significant evidence of), or we had to show that there was sufficient fraud to overturn the election in favor of Rossi, not merely call the result into question (again, no such evidence existed).

You can complain about the legal standard necessary to overturn the election, but that is where your complaints should be focused, not on the GOP.

20. Gregoire was elected to give out another payout.
She gave out the biggest budget in Washington state history, and we still are going to be left with an infrastructure deficit.

22. The D's are creative in finding more and more ways to over fund education and criminal justice.

The D's have a wont be under staffed policy that gives our state more and more staff with less and less responsibility.
While the civic infrastructure gets social engineering cop outs and fascimiles.
C'mon R's think outside the church, and the corporate gouge.

23. A few facts about this Nanny state you may not have known:

A friend of mine who works in the medical practice, says they are amazed at how many young people come in and waive their medicare card and all of their medical expenses are covered.

And to top this off, if they cannot speak English, the medical office is required by this nanny state to bring in (and we all pay for) a $50 an hour interpreter for them.

They said one older individual who could barely speak english, said as he was leaving the office "I love America, everything is free here"!

And we wonder why medicare is going broke!

I recently saw a van in Tacoma, painted with "Governor Gregoire, she has got to go" on the back! This van should be driving or permanently parked around Olympia.

I also heard that up until recently, the Sound transit Union workers have been working 60 hour weeks, including saturdays, and I don't need to tell you what all that overtime is costing us all.

Small businesses are leaving this state in droves.

Run Rossi Run...

Before it is too late to save this Nanny state.

"Grabassian"

25. Invented..sorry.
Feel free to start using it if you like.
100 years from now history teachers will be teaching the kids all about the grabbassian age.

26. let the Rossi campaign start soon. I don't intend to donate to the party but will donate to candidates.

I don't have a full understanding of the rules, but as I understand- if he declares in 2007- an individual can max out their contributions for this year and still donate again next year.

I'm not happy with the GOP at the state level or the national level- I'm giving it to candidates I like.

27. Democrats have dug so much dirt on Dino, it's doubtful he has the fire in his belly (or can raise the money) for a run in '08. I hope Dave Reichert considers the race for gov.

Posted by: murtz on June 14, 2007 11:13 AM
28. murtz: if they had so much dirt on him, why didn't they use it in '04?

Besides, every WEEK Gregoire gives the Republicans more dirt on herself, whether it is the clear, regular, and defiant violation of our Constitutional right to initiative through frivolous emergency provisions, or gross fiscal mismanagement, or massive and unwarranted budget increases, or the direct approval of the most corrupt activity I've seen in this state, ever: the Democrats legalizing the union stealing money from public employees in order to pay for getting Democrats elected to office.

Posted by: pudge on June 14, 2007 01:02 PM
29. They had a different chair in 2004, and they didn't go after the dirt. If what you say is true, I hope the R's will do the same w/Gregoire.

30. Recall petition for Governor Gregoire
As Attorney General, Governor Gregoire did not properly enforce the Washington State medical marijuana law.
As Attorney General, Governor Gregoire allowed 16 or more Washington State Counties, to enforce County laws over State laws.
County laws are subordinate to State General laws.
The Washington State attorney General failed to challenge a declaration of separate sovereignty by 16 Washington State Counties.
During Governor Gregoire's tenure as Washington State Attorney General, 16 Counties of Washington State were able to enforce subordinate laws, without any challenge by the Washington State Attorney General.
Governor Gregoire is guilty of Malfeasance in her duties as Washington State Attorney General, for failing to challenge 16 or more Counties enforcement of subordinate County laws over State General laws, and the subsequent declaration of separate Sovereignty by 16 or more counties of Washington State.
As Attorney General of Washington State, Governor Gregoire was sworn in to uphold Washington State general laws.
As Attorney General of Washington State, Governor Gregoire has incorrectly determined that Counties can interpret General laws as they deem fit, and allowed the alteration of General laws on a County by County basis.
This was malfeasance of the most basic sort.
As the Attorney General of Washington State, Governor Gregoire Failed to uphold the general laws of Washington State, and not only failed to challenge a declaration of separate sovereignty, but encouraged it by promoting, and distributing different altered versions of 69.51A,without any attempts to stop the practice of those Counties altering, and enforcing Washington State general laws.

Grammer is a personal thing, you can use it to dramatize and make your points more pungeunt Mr Pudge...isn't that right.

This seems to be one of your "routine attacks on those who don't agree, or wish to attempt to debate you. Step off of your high Donkey!
